She was suffering from severe skin and ear infections, both of which are now improving with proper veterinary care and lots of TLC. Despite everything she’s been through, Darla has remained incredibly sweet natured and loving. She adores her people, has a calm and gentle demeanor, and is friendly with everyone she meets. She also does well with other dogs and enjoys companionship. Darla would thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not, as she can become anxious when left alone and is looking for the comfort and security of a devoted family. She’s ready to leave her difficult past behind and start her next chapter surrounded by love, stability, and cozy naps indoors where she belongs. *PLEASE NOTE: The first step in the process is to complete an adoption application on our website roversretreat.org * Drake is loving life in his foster home, but now it’s time for him to find his furever family… We rescued Drake back in 2020. He is a 7 year old pup now and we guess he is a labradoodle mix. He was adopted a few years ago but recently, instead of contacting us to surrender the Drake back to us when they were unable to keep him, the adopter brought him to the shelter. Not only did they bring him to the shelter, they told the shelter to EUTHANIZE HIM!! Why? Because he is reactive/ doesn’t get along with small dogs, something they knew when they adopted him. Thankfully we were notified and able to get him back into our care quickly. He has been doing so well in foster and deserves to finally find the right people. Drake is a big boy (100+ pounds, but does need to lose some weight) and loves cuddles. He greatly enjoys long walks and car rides. He is super smart and food motivated. Drake is a go with the flow dude who just wants people to love. He would be best as the only animal in the home and with people committed to managing his reactivity. He is very easy to redirect with treats and will thrive with the right people. I rescued Fin with his brother Roger. He is about 9 months old now a little bigger than in the picture. He is very sweet, loves to be loved, and is great with my kids. His is however very scared of strangers so need time to warm up to new people. He will show his teeth if strangers try to pet him. After about a day of knowing the person he is fine. He is very motivated by food/snacks and is very smart. He knows, sit, lay down, and shake. He loves to learn, play, and cuddle. I really hope he finds the perfect furever home to a family that will love him!

I rescued this dog and his twin brother (not shown in picture) when they were 4 months old. They are now about 9 months old. They have received all their shots, but are not yet fixed. I unfortunately cannot keep both of them. His name is Roger, he is house trained, he is very calm in the house after initial excitement of seeing you. He is kennel trained. He is afraid of strangers and unknown dogs but warms up quickly with food reinforcements :-) He is a sweet boy and I hope that he can find a family that will love him forever!
