Teddy is a beautiful, 2 year old, 38 lb. male labradoodle w' a somewhat sad history. 6 months ago he was found by animal control abandoned on the streets of Bakersfield. We have been his guardians since. Teddy is healthy, playful, house-broken, a good eater, not food aggressive, obedient, loves sleeping in his crate, is sweet & craves affection. Has had a lot of training & obeys the basics. Full disclosure: From his trauma, he is afraid of other dogs & can be reactive w' people – nipping & sometimes biting because he is anxious & insecure, but has proven to do great & not have these behavior problems in structured environments i.e. the ranch when we're away & in training sessions. Teddy needs strong leadership & structure; someone willing to work w' him to build his confidence. A patient, experienced dog person with a pack mentality. He has great potential w' the right person. Our amazing trainer Brett Endes, “Dog Savant” has offered to assist in the transition at no charge.

*PLEASE NOTE: The first step in the process is to complete an adoption application on our website roversretreat.org * Drake is loving life in his foster home, but now it’s time for him to find his furever family… We rescued Drake back in 2020. He is a 7 year old pup now and we guess he is a labradoodle mix. He was adopted a few years ago but recently, instead of contacting us to surrender the Drake back to us when they were unable to keep him, the adopter brought him to the shelter. Not only did they bring him to the shelter, they told the shelter to EUTHANIZE HIM!! Why? Because he is reactive/ doesn’t get along with small dogs, something they knew when they adopted him. Thankfully we were notified and able to get him back into our care quickly. He has been doing so well in foster and deserves to finally find the right people. Drake is a big boy (100+ pounds, but does need to lose some weight) and loves cuddles. He greatly enjoys long walks and car rides. He is super smart and food motivated. Drake is a go with the flow dude who just wants people to love. He would be best as the only animal in the home and with people committed to managing his reactivity. He is very easy to redirect with treats and will thrive with the right people. Drake is currently being fostered in Santa Monica, California area but can be adopted anywhere as long as you can come to SoCal and drive home. *PLEASE NOTE: The first step in the process is to complete an adoption application on our website roversretreat.org . She was abandoned with 8 puppies at a home that a friend bought. She was skin and bones but her puppies were fat and healthy because she took care of them. My kids found homes for all the puppies so we tried to keep her because she's such a good dog. She just wants to be loved. We have another dog and she has bitten my dog twice out of jealousy. She's get so happy that she wiggles. My Son uses a "Merit" saw for work so he named her Merit. She knows her name and always comes when you say her name. She needs to be in a home without other pets. She is loyal and just wants to be with you. She has never shown the slightest bit of aggression towards any human. Everyone we know has dogs and the only person we know who is considering her is a guy that will use her as a guard dog and she will never see a warm bed again with him. I can't express how loving she is and deserves to have a warm and loving home. It breaks my heart to give her up but I have to think of my dog first.
