Story
Hiya! I’m Bo! I’m hap, hap, happy guy! I was found as a stray in Texas. The people that found me are good friends with a rescue lady and she helped me find my way to MHCR. I’m in a foster home in Colorado Springs and I LOVE IT here! I have a human kiddo and dog friends that I adore. I’m a pretty energetic and active boy but as long as the kiddos are ok with maybe getting knocked over sometimes, I’d sure love to have them in my forever home. I think kids are the best! I enjoy long hikes (I just did 9 miles), romps at the park, and taking walks. I’m house trained and crate trained, too! The rescue people say I’m about 50 lbs and a year old. I have nice pearly white teeth! I do shed some, despite almost certainly being some kind of doodle boy. It’s really a small price to pay for dog as fun and great as me! Bo is in foster in Colorado Springs, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/bo-2/. Story
** If you are interested in adopting Leo, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Leo! Leo is a super friendly boy, who’s always requesting belly rubs. Leo is believed to be a Labradoodle mix, with likely some Schnauzer in him. He is believed to be around 2 years old, though may be a bit younger due to his puppy-like, playful demeanor. He is full grown at 25 lbs. Originally, Leo was found roaming around in Houston, TX. He was brought into a small shelter, but no one ever came looking or to reclaim him. He transported to Colorado, and was adopted winter of 2023. However, Leo is now back with Farfel's rescue, as his owner moved in with a partner with an older dog that doesn't appreciate Leo's playful energy. Now Leo is seeking a forever home with someone who has the time and energy to give a happy, friendly, playful young dog. Leo has been thriving in his foster home, and has been great with people and all other dogs. He loves sprawling out on his back and requesting tummy rubs. The following is from Leo's foster: * * * "Introducing Leo, the epitome of canine charm! Leo is not just a dog; he's a bundle of joy waiting to light up your life. With his friendly demeanor, loving nature, and playful spirit, Leo is sure to steal your heart from the moment you meet him. He's not just smart; he's curious, always eager to explore the world around him. Leo thrives on attention and treats, and he's not afraid to show it! Leo is not just a playful pup; he's also well-mannered and potty trained, making him a breeze to have around the house. At night, he loves to cozy up in his bed in the bedroom. He would do great with another playful dog in the home, but he also loves playing with people so another dog is not necessary for him to be happy. If you're looking for a loyal and energetic companion to join your family, Leo is ready to make memories with you. Leo will light up your home with his love and enthusiasm!" * * * We'd like to place Leo in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Leo is up to date on his vetting and vaccines, and he is neutered as well. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.

Story
Albus is a VERY sweet, gentle and sensitive boy. We are not his first owners but have had him for a few years and have worked with him on calming his natural poodle anxiety, managing his hyperactivity, and working through his skittish-ness. Through it all he has been a good running buddy, an excellent(if a bit overeager) children's playing companion and made a great lap dog. He also has a bit of separation anxiety and prefers to be very close to his people as much as possible. Unfortunately, due to some changes at home, he has had to go from being a lap-dog to being a mostly-outside-dog, and this really doesn't work well for his personality. So we are trying to find him a better living situation where he can be the lap (or at least laying at your feet) dog that he really wants to be.

Story
Jacks is an adorable, young, and lively dog, who loves attention and going for long walks or car rides for maximum sniffing. He's also treat-motivated, knows SIT, and is learning how to stay down and be a gentleman. Jacks has plenty of energy and would really like to go on adventures and have a big yard he can call home, since he loves to chase balls. He also likes water and is believed to be part (if not full) Portuguese Water Dog... but could also be Labradoodle mix. Whatever his make-up, Jacks would do best with someone who is patient and willing to continue his training together with a professional trainer to be the best he can be.

Story
Joe is a happy, healthy, and very active 1.3 year old Labradoodle. He’s whip smart and loves to please. Our hearts are broken. Due to health reasons we need to leave our beautiful Colorado home and we’ll need to rehome Joe. Joe loves to play, but needs a little work on his leash manners. He’s starting to learn tricks. All things normal for a young dog. However, Joe does display signs of previous trauma and needs a patient, loving home. He would do best as an only dog but with plenty of socialization!
