Welcome Apollo to CCPAL Rescue. Apollo is a 12 month old lab/Black Mouth Cur or Shepherd mix dog. He weighs about 40 pounds and has now been moved into the rescue from the Samaritan that found him. She found the entire litter of puppies and has fostered them until we had space. We have already adopted out 4 of this litter. Milo is one of their brothers. Apollo and his brother Orion are very lucky to now be in the rescue. They will get daily interaction with people and a nice routine so they can get used to structure. They were found by a very nice woman but she was too busy to work with the pups. They were and are well cared for but we will be working on leash manners and getting into a daily routine. It is amazing what attention and direction does for a dog. Apollo is good with other dogs. He has lived mostly outdoors but now is getting used to being in a kennel and doing some leash walk training. Apollo is a large dog but on the smaller side of large. He is a little shy at the moment but I do think he will do what all the others in this litter have done, blossom. He could be with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Apollo would be a great walking partner and right now his best home is someone who wants a companion. He would love one on one attention and direction. He responds well and bonds deeply to his human. Skittles is a sweet little bundle of energy who is looking for her forever home! She may be a little nervous in new situations at first, but once her people reassure her that she’s safe, she opens up quickly. After her long drive from Louisiana, she was exploring her foster home and asking for pets in less than 48 hours. Skittles is potty trained on a schedule and crate trained, including sleeping in her crate overnight. Her crate is her safe place, so she’ll likely appreciate having access to it regularly while she settles into a new home. When her people leave, she may bark at first, but she settles down relatively quickly—especially with a Kong! She’s still working on a few puppy habits, including learning what is and isn’t appropriate to chew. Luckily, she has some favorite alternatives: Nyla Bones, Himalayan Dog Chews, and, of course, squeaky toys! On walks, Skittles does well overall, although she has some pulling and would benefit from continued leash-training. She isn’t aggressively reactive to dogs or people, but she gets VERY excited when she sees runners or people on bikes. She just wants to join the fun! Welcome Bob to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 7.5-year-old Mastiff/Lab mixed dog. He is about 50 pounds and he is very sweet. He is now ready for his forever home. He is an adorable bubble blower, and he had the most adorable drool on the video. If you love the Mastiff breed, then you know they drool. It is a part of their charm. He will be a loyal boy and he is lower on the energy scale. He was extremely happy to be walking her at the rescue. We have been spending lots of time getting all the adult dogs good on leash. He has a lower coat and not a huge shedding dog. He would be great for an older couple looking for a large and lower energy companion. Looking for a loyal sidekick? Charlie is the kind of dog who wants to do life with you. Charlie is a handsome 2-year-old Lab mix who loves being outside, whether it’s exploring the backyard, going for walks, or simply soaking up the sunshine. At home, he’s happiest wherever his people are. Whether you’re gardening, relaxing on the couch, or heading out for an adventure, Charlie just wants to be by your side. Charlie is a smart boy who already knows sit, down, leave it, and usually comes when called. He’s fully house trained, enjoys learning new things, and loves a game of fetch—bringing the ball back most of the time! He also loves carrying around and playing with his favorite stuffy toys. And like any proud Lab mix, Charlie believes a little black dog hair is the perfect accessory for every outfit. One of the best things about Charlie is watching his personality continue to blossom. Lulu has never met a stranger—and she’s pretty sure every person she meets is her new best friend! From day one, she has been outgoing, affectionate, and eager to meet everyone. She absolutely loves attention, and she has plenty of love (and kisses!) to share. She is also a serious athlete, with a particular passion for frisbee. Lulu would happily play fetch all day if you let her, and she is smart enough to time her jumps perfectly to catch a frisbee in midair. After an hour or two of frisbee, she’s usually ready to bring the game indoors and keep things going with a ball tossed down the hallway. When she wants to play, she’ll nudge you or toss her ball or frisbee at you—and if you don’t get the hint quickly enough, she’ll pick it up and throw it at you again! When she’s not busy playing, Lulu loves being a lap dog. She’ll happily curl up on your lap for TV time or a nap, and after all that exercise, she’s quite content to relax. She has bursts of energy throughout the day, but with a morning walk, breakfast, and some playtime, she settles nicely in her kennel for a nap. After her evening walk, she understands that it’s bedtime and settles down quickly. Lulu is fully house trained, crate trained, and sleeps quietly through the night. She willingly goes into her kennel and does well in the car. During the day, she may initially protest with some barking and whining, but once she realizes it’s nap time, she settles down. She knows sit, shake, down, come, stay, and drop, and she is a smart girl who enjoys learning. She walks nicely, although seeing another dog or animal can turn her excitement dial way up—she may bark and pull because she desperately wants to go say hello and play. She has already made progress with this since arriving in foster care. She has also enjoyed off-leash play with another dog, although her frisbee is often much more interesting than her canine playmate! She loves kids, too, but she doesn’t always realize just how big and strong she is. Her enthusiastic greetings and powerful happy tail can be a lot for little ones, so sturdy kids and close supervision will be important. And when she gets really excited, she spins in circles! Apparently, even five minutes apart is enough reason for a joyful reunion celebration. Life with Lulu will mean plenty of walks, frisbee throwing, ball tossing, snuggles, and kisses. If you’re looking for an affectionate, intelligent, playful companion who can keep up with an active lifestyle and then happily curl up on your lap afterward, Lulu may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for.

Their excitement can sometimes get me excited too, so I’m still learning how to keep my manners when things get busy. I’m a pretty good listener and already know “sit,” and I’m learning more every day. I’m also very good about dropping things I shouldn’t have once I’m reminded. Since I’m still figuring out this whole house-living thing, I need some supervision. I’m curious and may decide that shoes, things on the table, or items on the counter look like fun toys. With consistency and guidance, I’m learning what’s mine and what’s not. I’m very close to being potty trained as long as I’m kept on a regular schedule. During the day, when the house is quiet, I can settle down nicely and relax. My crate manners are still a work in progress. I bark when I’m first crated and can take some time to settle, so I’ll need a family who is patient and willing to help me learn that my crate is a safe, comfortable place. I’m affectionate, playful, eager to learn, and just an all-around fun guy! Lulu has never met a stranger—and she’s pretty sure every person she meets is her new best friend! From day one, she has been outgoing, affectionate, and eager to meet everyone. She absolutely loves attention, and she has plenty of love (and kisses!) to share. She is also a serious athlete, with a particular passion for frisbee. Lulu would happily play fetch all day if you let her, and she is smart enough to time her jumps perfectly to catch a frisbee in midair. After an hour or two of frisbee, she’s usually ready to bring the game indoors and keep things going with a ball tossed down the hallway. When she wants to play, she’ll nudge you or toss her ball or frisbee at you—and if you don’t get the hint quickly enough, she’ll pick it up and throw it at you again! When she’s not busy playing, Lulu loves being a lap dog. She’ll happily curl up on your lap for TV time or a nap, and after all that exercise, she’s quite content to relax. She has bursts of energy throughout the day, but with a morning walk, breakfast, and some playtime, she settles nicely in her kennel for a nap. After her evening walk, she understands that it’s bedtime and settles down quickly. Lulu is fully house trained, crate trained, and sleeps quietly through the night. She willingly goes into her kennel and does well in the car. During the day, she may initially protest with some barking and whining, but once she realizes it’s nap time, she settles down. She knows sit, shake, down, come, stay, and drop, and she is a smart girl who enjoys learning. She walks nicely, although seeing another dog or animal can turn her excitement dial way up—she may bark and pull because she desperately wants to go say hello and play. She has already made progress with this since arriving in foster care. She has also enjoyed off-leash play with another dog, although her frisbee is often much more interesting than her canine playmate! She loves kids, too, but she doesn’t always realize just how big and strong she is. Her enthusiastic greetings and powerful happy tail can be a lot for little ones, so sturdy kids and close supervision will be important. And when she gets really excited, she spins in circles! Apparently, even five minutes apart is enough reason for a joyful reunion celebration. Life with Lulu will mean plenty of walks, frisbee throwing, ball tossing, snuggles, and kisses. Hi, my name is Fred, and I’m a fun, affectionate guy who is loving this new life! I’m great on leash and very excited to meet new people and dogs. I absolutely LOVE to play—especially fetch! Balls, please! I also enjoy a good game of tug-of-war and could play with toys all day. I’m wonderful with kids and love being part of the family. Their excitement can sometimes get me excited too, so I’m still learning how to keep my manners when things get busy. I’m a pretty good listener and already know “sit,” and I’m learning more every day. I’m also very good about dropping things I shouldn’t have once I’m reminded. Since I’m still figuring out this whole house-living thing, I need some supervision. I’m curious and may decide that shoes, things on the table, or items on the counter look like fun toys. With consistency and guidance, I’m learning what’s mine and what’s not. I’m very close to being potty trained as long as I’m kept on a regular schedule. During the day, when the house is quiet, I can settle down nicely and relax. My crate manners are still a work in progress. I bark when I’m first crated and can take some time to settle, so I’ll need a family who is patient and willing to help me learn that my crate is a safe, comfortable place. I’m affectionate, playful, eager to learn, and just an all-around fun guy! Ruby is a sweet, loving Golden Retriever who is looking for her forever home! She is gentle and affectionate with people and has all the classic Golden Retriever qualities we love: playful, silly, cuddly, and convinced she’s a lap dog. Welcome Oaks to CCPAL Rescue foster program. Oaks is a 1.5 year old German Short haired pointer and German Shepherd. He is about 48 pounds and a good weight. He is good in a car, potty trained, doggy door trained and lives with six children starting at age 2. He also lives with 6 other dogs and does fine. He would be great with a family and children would be fine. We like them to be 8 or older. He is smart, laid back, good with other dogs and bonds deeply to his family. He is a little timid with strangers but comfortable with his people. His foster family is going to start taking him places so he can get used to changes in environment and other people. He is smart but he doesn’t like to retrieve like his sister does. He is a nice dog and naturally a little protective to his family. He would be great with a family that the dad travels and he wants to feel that his family is safe and taken care of. He is a moderate shedding dog and with his long legs would be a great walking or jogging companion. He is neutered, healthy and getting his vaccinations and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $300 and transport is $200.
