You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to the Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) for an Adoption Event on Sunday April 28th 11:45 am-12:45 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.   DOB:  08/08/2018 Requires another dog in home: No Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: No, has high prey-drive Okay with children under 12 years old: Older, respectful kids, yes Weight: 58 pounds Requires a fenced yard:  no, but working on leash training Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area Hello, my name is Ivy. I am a lovely young adult female Lab/Shepherd mix who loves eating all treats (who doesn’t LOL!!), tearing stuffed toys apart, sleeping and hunting squirrels. Foster mom says I am in charge of the backyard activity and do my best to keep the squirrels out of the yard. I would love a fenced in yard to explore, but also love going for walks, so it's not required as long as you promise we can take some short walks each day! As you have probably already figured out, I have a high prey drive, so small kids and cats are not a good fit for me. Ok, truth be told, I don’t “hunt” the kids, just the cats but still, I am not crazy about those quick moving kids.  If they were older and respectful, I think we would be besties! I am very friendly with people, but I am a bit wary of dogs that I meet on my walks. I sometimes growl and bark at the neighbor dog or if something alarms me. However, I do fine with other dogs if there is no barrier between us and I have gotten along with all the dogs who have come to visit my home. My mom fosters other dogs and has friends that visit with dog, and we all get along great. I am crate and potty trained and working on leash training. At times I am a bit loud when on the leash and will yell at other dogs. Although I enjoy pulling on the leash, foster mom is trying to help me learn that she is the leader on our walks not me…she’s so silly, she doesn’t know me at ALL!!! I am super smart girl! I know what to do when mom says “sit,” “stay,” “come,” “outside,” “go potty,” and “off.” Alright, if you REALLY must know, I learned the “off” command because I tend to jump on people when I get excited…I mean c’mon, seriously is it really that bad?? Mom has made it clear, by saying “off” and gently using her knee, that jumping on people is frowned upon in this establishment.  Anyway, mom says that I “must have had training before” because I am the “easiest foster” she’s “ever had” and that’s quite a compliment! But I would really benefit from additional training to continue learning new things like safe leash walking and maybe some tricks! My trip from a Texas shelter to MN was an adventure. When I arrived in MN my friends at Underdog discovered I was heartworm positive and I have finished the treatment and now I just dream of finding a furever home with a patient person who will shower me with unconditional love and will not give up on me. If you are looking for a wonderful companion who can’t wait to snuggle on the couch or bed, then we need to meet. I promise I will love you more than you can imagine!! Love, Ivy.   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Welcome Picasso to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 2 year old Lab/Rottie or Shepherd mix. He is 2 years old and weighs about 50 pounds. He is good on a leash and friendly with other dogs. He loves water and loves to play in the hose water when the kennel is being cleaned. He loves his kennel and will stay in it even when the door is open. He met Apple and Serenity while on leash and was not leash reactive. He was all smiles and tails wagging. He is vaccinated and neutered and looking for his forever home. He would be fine as a family pet. We like the children to be 8 or older. The nice thing about an adult dog is their personality is formed and you know what you are getting. He has some skills like kennel training and leash walking. We know he isn’t leash reactive and was friendly when meeting new dogs. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Welcome Cowboy to CCPAL Foster Program. Cowboy is an 6-month old pup. He has an adorable and large head. I call these man dogs because my husband loves them. He weighs about 37 pounds now but we think will be 50 full grown. He is a Lab/Staffie or Pittien or maybe Rottie is our guess. He does know the sit command and is attentive when you are directing him. He has a nice amount of attention and it is not too short but he can hold it while you work with him. He is adorable, affectionate and has the cute wrinkles on his forehead that make him look concerned. He has brown eyes and a little white patch on his chin that look like a milk beard. He is the typical puppy and is energetic, inquisitive and in need of direction. He is willing to learn and takes direction well. He already knows the sit command. He has a lower or shorter coat and not a big shedding dog. He would be great for an active outdoorsy type family. Now he will settle down and his energy is not over the top. It is a good amount of energy for an 8-month old puppy. He is getting his vaccinations and will be neutered soon and ready for his forever home. He is good in car rides, good with cats and decent on a leash. He is fine in a crate and moderately vocal and will use his voice to get attention. He would be fine with children. He is not overly mouthy. We like the children to be 8 or older. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Ok Ok ok!! I know, my namesake is a superhero wannabe... Barry Hubris wants to be THE TICK!!! And, ok I HAD ticks when I was found- so so skinny and so so sad and so so lost and alone. However, I don't REALLY want to BE a TICK!! I want to be a beloved companion. I want to be a loving family dog. I want to be loved. I have some limited vision issues, so no kids at this point- I get nervous and growl when I am being approached too quickly or don't know who you are. BUT, I am way better than I was. Now that I know love and comfort and regular food and safety, I am a regular gentleman! I am a yellow labby mix with a gentle demeanor and have a creamy colored coat. I am about 60# of good boy, and am looking for someone who has a relatively calm and quiet house and room on the couch for me. I am ready for you, I hope you are ready for me!!! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  I’m on the hunt for a very special loving home who is willing to work diligently with my confidence.  I’m extremely shy and am much braver on the outside than I am on the inside.  I love my kennel as I use it as my safe space.  When I feel nervous or unsure, I retreat there and hide. I’m very, very sweet and still learning all about receiving love and affection and I do like it!  I do enjoy hanging out with people but I also have a mischievous side when I think you’re not looking.  Away from home is hard for me.  I am so nervous and freeze with anxiety.  I will bolt if I get the chance.  So I will need a fenced yard as even leashes are new.  I am 99% potty training when on a schedule and am clearly crate trained, since that’s where I feel the most safe.  But I do know some commands like “sit, outside, go potty.” If you say “in” by my kennel, that’s when I know you want me to get inside.  So I’m super smart!  I would love to have another confident dog in my forever home to help me learn how to be a dog and teach me all the things.  You’ll find me to be loving, gentle, shy, sweet and absolutely precious.  But if you are patient enough to help me over my anxieties, I promise to reward you with all the love and affection you expect from a dog . *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi I'm  Candycorn !  I'm a beautiful lady who came into rescue with some secret cargo in my tummy.  I was a good mama and raised my babies and sent them all on to new homes.  Now it's my turn!  With new people and in new places I'll admit I get nervous and I either find a safe corner to hide in or I'll possibly bark.  At home with my foster mama where I'm familiar with things I'm a completely different dog.  I have the bestest happy smile, my tail doesn't stop wagging and I get the cutest dance and zoomies.  I gently jump against my fosters mamas leg so she can give me hugs and kisses.  Sometimes I kiss back!  When she stops I gently put my paw on her arm so she knows I want more.  I also love when she gives me chin and cheek scratches and I should probably mention tummy rubs are great too.     I get along great with all dogs and like to chase and wrestle when they're my friends.  I would do best having a doggie sibling in my new home so they can help me learn the routine in my new home and help me be more confident.     At home I am learning to walk on leash.  It's going great since I trust my foster mom.  It's fun jumping around in the grass and feeling the sun shine down on my face and the wind in my fur.  I haven't pottied on leash yet for her, but I do know that I should do all my business a fenced area so I do request one in my home.   I am kennel trained and I never potty in it.  I'm too smart for that!  I'm usually quiet in it too.  I know it's a safe spot when I need it too, though I prefer to be out hanging around my mom's feet instead.  When she's working I'm usually laying under her desk close to her in case she needs me.  You get treats there and pets haha!   I really like toys!  The soft ones are my favorite to chew on. I never had toys before rescue. I don't always like to share them, but I've learned mom will trade me for them and she'll gently play tug of war with me.     I haven't met any kids yet, but I think I'd be ok with older respectful kids who would be kind and gentle with me.  Fast movement and loud noises are overwhelming and I don't want to get scared and have to run and hide.  A quiet home where I can be a spoiled princess would be awesome.     Come and meet me and I promise you'll find that with a little time to learn that I'm safe and can trust you with my heart that you'll find a loving and loyal family member in me that will love you unconditionally! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       Hey there, I’m Esta! I may take a little time to warm up, but once I do, I’m all tail wags and kisses! I’m a very sweet girl with a lot of love to give. My kennel is my safe space, and I sleep there soundly all night long. Food and treats? Oh, you bet I love them! They’re definitely some of my favorite things in the world. Now, I do have a few fears—loud noises and thunderstorms can make me a little anxious. But with a loving family by my side, I know I’ll feel safe and secure. I’m great with children under 12 years old, and I’m learning all about potty training on a schedule. I’m also crate trained and get along well with dogs of all sizes. But here’s the thing—I really need a fenced yard in my new home. Leashes and new things can be a bit scary for me, so having that secure space to explore would mean the world to me. Once I warm up to you, I’m a super sweet and bouncy girl who loves nothing more than asking for pets and belly rubs. Just be careful around my left side—I may startle easily there, especially since I only have one eye. I’m adjusting well to home life and am eager to continue learning and exploring. With a patient and loving family, I know I’ll blossom into the wonderful dog I know I can be! *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
