Meadow is a gorgeous LARGE doodle!! She is approximately 2 years old, fully vetted, HW neg and microchipped. Meadow is fearful of SOME men, so she needs someone with patience, as we believe she was abused, in her previous home. She absolutely LOVES playing with other dogs, crate trained, knows basic commands, though still has high puppy energy, at times. Meadow can act timid/shy when meeting new people, though once she knows you, she will be your best friend! She's a strong girl, who needs some work on a leash. We prefer Meadow to go to a home with older children, due to her size (100 lbs), and the possibility of her getting excited and jumping on a small child. Story
Annie is a precious doodle girl! She is approximately 8 years old and weighs 55 pounds. Annie went through heartworm treatment at the end of last year, and has now received the "all clear from the vet. She is UTD on vaccines, spayed and microchipped. She does great with other dogs, and basically matches the other dogs energy, though she is not a fan of smaller dogs jumping up in and on her face. Annie has had no exposure to cats, since joining our rescue, so we are not sure how she would do with one. Annie loves to go for walks, though she is strong on a leash, and will pull, if she sees a squirrel, rabbit, etc. She is house broken and does not get crated, so we are hoping to find a forever home for her, where she will be allowed the same freedom. Oh, sweet Moses! This handsome dood is ready for his fur-ever home. Moses is smart, playful, and fun. He enjoys learning new skills and responds well to positive reinforcement and treats. He loves adventures with his hoomans. He enjoys a good backyard romp and a hearty session of fetch. If it’s round and rolls, Moses is a fan! He enjoys companions who can match energy and are close to his size (40-lbs or larger). He enjoys a rough-and-tumble style of play. He is a medium-energy dude with bursts of extra enthusiasm. He loves meeting new people. Who can resist that fuzzy face? Moses’s eyes speak to the wisdom gained through life experience. Moses has had a few hard knocks and has spent some time with our training partner learning how to trust humans after they’ve let him down. He will need extended time to decompress and to establish trust with his family. Once he trusts you, he’s a terrific, loyal companion. He’s no puppy to be trifled with; he is looking for a partnership with his family. He needs rescue-savvy, experienced owners who are willing to continue working with his trainer to ensure he successfully transitions to his home. For this reason, potential adopters must live in the DFW area and be willing to work with his trainer through his transition and decompression. Moses’s adoption fee is $400. He is HW negative, current on all HW/flea preventatives, neutered, and microchipped. All adoption fees go toward expenses like medical costs and food for Doodle Dandy dogs and help make it possible for us to continue giving amazing pups like Moses a second chance. Up for adoption in Texas: Mocha. Mocha has lots of personality! Just look at how she poses for pictures, she shines and makes funny faces. She is about 7 years old and weighs 47 pounds. Mocha wants nothing more than to find her forever family. Mocha is a beautiful, fluffy, black and white girl, with gorgeous, hazel eyes. She listens well and redirects easily. Mocha would do best in a quiet home without a lot of people coming and going or young children running about. We think she may have some herding dog breed in her and she doesn't like people or kids zipping around her or her yard. Adults and/or adults and older teens would be ideal for Mocha's forever home. She needs a fenced-in backyard. She does best with slow introductions to new people. She likes other dogs but can be a little bossy, so we'd recommend a home where she can be the only dog, or perhaps a home with another chill or submissive dog. (We would require a meet and greet if an adopter has an existing dog.) Mocha is not fond of cats. To set Mocha and her new family up for success she will need continued positive reinforcement training and we can help you find the right trainer and set you both up for success! Up for adoption in Texas: Mabel and her teddy bear. Mabel loves carrying around her teddy bear -- hoping one day she and her stuffed animal will find a loving family. Beautiful Mabel is about three-years-old and weighs 60 pounds. When she's not carrying around her toy, she can be found smiling for pictures. Look at that big grin. It's like she's posing. Mabel is clearly a ham. If you adopt her, at least someone in your family will happily pose for pictures. Mabel has a big personality and lots of energy. She does OK with other dogs but prefers not to be in a place she feels stuck behind a gate or crate when another dog is present. We'd recommend a meet and greet if you have another dog. We aren't exactly sure how she would do with a cat in her home. She's walked by some and has not really reacted. Mable would thrive doing more positive reinforcement training with an experienced owner. We recommend a home with adults or adults and older teenage kids. Shadow says: "Pick me! Pick me! My name is Shadow, and I'm up for adoption in Texas and I keep getting overlooked! I've been waiting for my forever home for more than a year. I'm getting sad." Shadow is about two years old, and he weighs about 50 pounds. He seems OK with cats!! Like a typical young dog, Shadow has lots of energy and loves to play. But he does very well in his crate and can be calm. He'd be a great hiking buddy or possibly running pal. He gets along with most dogs; for some reason, he isn't a fan of one dog he knows. We're not sure why. So if an adopter has another dog, we'd recommend a meet and greet first. Shadow has been non-reactive to cats, though. In fact, we had him cat tested, and we were told, "The cats checked him out from afar, then jumped right down and started rubbing on him. He wasn't so sure about it, but he stayed calm and gave no red flags." Shadow was originally adopted from Lucky Lab when he was a puppy during the pandemic. Several months later, he was returned to the rescue because his owners were busy with their kids and had no time to train him--he was a bit of a wild child. We'd like anyone who adopts Shadow to be an experienced dog owner and continue the positive reinforcement training he's received since he was returned. We think Shadow is very smart and would love the stimulation and attention he receives during training. He'd do best in a home with a fenced-in yard and adults and or adults and kids over 15. Shadow also needs exercise and playtime. Shadow has a lot of love to give, and we'd love for him to find a wonderful forever home. He is very loyal.
