Story
Hi, I'm Molly, I'm a small senior doodle. As you can see, I'm a beautiful, little girl. I'm probably some kind of doodle - maybe a labradoodle mix. I'm small - only around 30lbs so I'm mixed with something smaller than a labradoodle. I'm about 11-12 years old. Technically, I'm a senior but I act much younger and I'm very healthy. Also, I'm a great size. At around 30 pounds and low to the ground, my foster mom calls me a "low rider". I'm loving and affectionate with my people. I've had 2 homes so far and was sooooo sad to lose each one. I lived in one home for 3 years and another for about 8 years. Through no fault of my own, I was given up both times. I sleep well in my crate, and I love walks and car rides. I don't like to share with other dogs though, so I need to be the only animal in my new home. I am on special food due to having bladder stones when I was surrendered. On the new food, I have not had any further issues. I am looking for a new, patient and loving human sidekick. Reach out if that is you. I'm already vetted and spayed. I'm being fostered in Harrisonburg VA. I can be adopted to the DC metro area, the Richmond area and the Harrisonburg area. If you think you think you could give me a great home, please contact thekeneequeen@comcast.net Thanks. Molly

Story
Hello! Meet Ace 🐾 Ace was born on September 23, 2021, and is a lovable, fun-loving dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He is incredibly playful, loves spending time with his people, and always finds a way to make everyone laugh with his goofy antics and silly expressions. We are making the difficult decision to rehome Ace due to the primary owner’s ongoing health issues. Unfortunately, these circumstances make it impossible for us to provide him with the time, attention, and care that he deserves. This decision comes from a place of love, and our goal is to find him a forever home where he can continue to thrive and receive all the care and affection he deserves. If you’re looking for a dog who is affectionate, entertaining, obedient, and full of love, Ace may be the perfect addition to your family. ❤️🐶

Story
We have received a large number of applications for Ella, and are not accepting new ones as we work our way through the ones that have come in. Ella may have been born in South Carolina, but she was made for the Chesapeake. This tiny, one-year-old chocolate doodle is happiest anywhere there’s water, whether she’s paddle boarding, soaking up the sun, or taking a dip in the pool. She is an absolute dream with the sweetest, most gentle personality. Ella loves dogs, cats, kids, and every grown-up she meets. She’s fully house- and crate-trained, rides beautifully in the car, and is the kind of easygoing companion who fits right into any adventure. If you’re looking for a lovable little sidekick who will happily join you on the water and then cuddle up at home (after you’ve dried her off, of course!), Ella is ready to make every day a little brighter. 🤎 My Profile Age: 1 year old Weight: 33 pounds Good with kids: Yes Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Yes Fenced yard: No Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: Yes House trained: Yes. Please check the adoption-show-attendees page to see if Ella will be attending the next adoption show. NOTE: We are an all volunteer group and do not operate a shelter. All of our animals are in foster homes. If you are not local to the DMV area, but are interested in one of our adoptable pets, that's okay. If you're approved to adopt, we can work out the geography!

Story
Odie was surrendered to rescue due to owners failing health. He is a sweet boy that has been completely vetted and microchipped. He does love to run and play with the other dogs. He takes correction easily if he gets too rough. He is very tall and lanky. .He was very underweight when he came in and also had to be shaved due to matting. He is still eating puppy food with chicken breast to help gain weight. We were told he loves to chase the chickens and cats but never harmed them. Transportation to an area near you is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. You can copy this link for the adoption application, but please email also as we do not check it daily. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfJPy8HZacOfGsSHQ_Lnz3iGbc7LXBv5r-fBjdySJHZwvWtVA/viewform?usp=header

The five of us - Daria, Delia, Dolly, Donnie, and Derek - have loved growing up together in our puppy pile in balmy Puerto Rico with our mama Minnie, but now we're ready to split up and get our forever homes in the DC area! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. And to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do I get to go home with you? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once this pup has spent time in foster care.  Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.    Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. The five of us - Ms. Samira, Mr. Robbie, Ms. Mel, Ms. Javadi, and Mr. Huckleberry  - have loved our time in the puppy pile with our mama Dana, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. When I'm a little older, I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am.  What My Foster Says About Me: When Ms. Mel (our neighbor's children insist on calling her Vanilla Bean) first came to us, she was quite timid. Fast forward four days, and she has blossomed into a happy, sweet, and incredibly easy pup. She loves dogs - she lives with two Lucky Dog foster fails and one Lucky Dog foster. She loves to play and snuggle with our pups. She's slowly figuring out that she also quite likes to be snuggled by her humans. She's great on a leash and loves sniffy walks around our neighborhood and visits to the local dog park. During the day while I work, she happily suns herself on the deck, plays with her pup siblings, or snoozes. She sleeps through the night in a pen and is working on her house manners. She is a super sweet, very easy pup who will bring joy and love to anyone. See more pictures and videos of Ms. Mel at https://www.instagram.com/blu2be44a.
