If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/gener.You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.Dog's Name:   Brody  (BRO1124DICMD)Estimated Breed:   Labradoodle MIXApproximate Age:   2 yearsApproximate Weight:   45-50 lbsCurrently Living at:  FosterAdoption Fee:   $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Say Hi to Brody! Sadly, his owner passed away and this handsome young man is hoping to find a loving home again. Brody is used to the comforts of indoor living and is a friendly guy, both with humans and his fellow canines. He's a natural companion, and considering his past, he can't wait to find a new family who will love him forever. If you are looking for a loyal friend, why not consider adopting Brody and let him fill your home with love, laughter, and endless tail wags. Brody has some separation anxiety. Who can blame him?  He lost his home and his person, when his owner passed away unexpectedly. He has been doing well in his foster home with the other dogs for comfort. He would do best in a home with other dogs. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/gener.Dog's Name:   Boh - COURTESY POSTEstimated Breed :   Standard Labradoodle mixApproximate Age:  7 yearsApproximate Weight:  55 lbsCurrently Living at:  FosterDOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Boh is a standard red Labradoodle and weighs 55 pounds. He has a lot of energy and loves long walks and playing fetch. He is very well behaved in the house and is house trained, but not crate trained. Positives: he loves to cuddle and thinks he’s a lap dog, very chill around his family in the house, he knows commands to sit, stay and speak (bark). He is up to date on all vaccines. Negatives: anxious, likes to jump up to look out the window at mailman, fed ex, etc. Also very protective of our house and is not great when strangers come in by being anxious and jumping. He has never bitten anyone or another dog, but he will growl at times especially on a leash and will nip at times. He is great around our family dogs and dogs he knows, but not great with random dogs coming up to him on a leash. He has gone to doggie daycare and never heard a bad thing about his interaction with other dogs when he is off leash. He also has a benign tumor on the side of his body that is rather large, but it is not cancerous and it was tested. Unfortunately with two young kids and not having attention to give to him, his family thinks it is best he find another home to live out his life to the fullest.Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/. Brody has since lived with six different foster dogs. Brody has found comfort in a regular routine.  He knows where he fits in.  He is a very affectionate and loving dog.  Oftentimes, black and darker colored dogs languish in shelters much longer than lighter colored dogs. There are a lot of reasons for this. Potential adopters often rely on a “first look” with photos rescues and shelters have provided online of individual dogs, and dark colored dogs are more difficult to photograph. Some people may have an aversion towards animals with dark coats based on superstition or personal belief systems. And some people think black and dark colored dogs look more menacing than they actually are because their dark faces make it harder to read their facial expressions.  Unfortunately, these stigmas translate into real-life adoption rates and a lack of interest in these beautiful pups who deserve homes.  TAKE A SECOND LOOK AT BRODY Home At Last Sanctuary, Inc. offers certified previously owned dogs to be perfectly matched lifetime companions.  Do you this Brody is that dog for you let is know . Brody's personal Webpage: Click or copy paste this link https://hals.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=19883451 Brody is a 4 year old mixed breed dog maybe a Labrador Retriever mix.  He weighs about 37 pounds, is healthy, active, and playful dog.  He likes attention and will snuggle in for giving and getting love and attention.   He is good with other dogs with proper introduction.  He would not likely do well with cats.   He has not been evaluated around children.  It does seem as like he would do will with children that is respectful of dogs boundaries and adequate supervision from adults. Brody has only just arrived and we will observe and report more information as it develops. Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. Sugar is about 1 yr old (DOB 9/1/23), 21” tall at the shoulder and 33’ long from base of tail to her nose. She now weighs 51#. Her fur is soft and shiny, We think she is a Lab mix…according to the vet. She is a dog needing special care because she is 100% deaf. She gets along great in life depending on other dogs to know when they’re being called for dinner, etc. She is bright and happy and she has been taught a few hand signals for commands. The most difficult part is that you can’t depend on sound to get her attention. Here are the foster’s comments about her personality and behavior: This beautiful young female, Sugar, was a stray who showed up on my acreage in the fall of 2024. Over the course of several days, I could see that she was trying to eat the bark off my trees and was starving. Over the next few days, I put out a bowl of kibble every day. Sugar was leery of my presence and I was leery of hers but I was determined to help her, to rescue her and to find her the loving forever-home I knew she deserved. As it turns out, both of our sense of hesitation was completely unfounded and, from the first day after I contained her in my fenced yard, Sugar, my five other dogs, my husband, and I became the best of friends. Personality/Behavior: * Very gentle, very loving, very peaceful, wants to please her human * Very intelligent, intuitive, interactive and responsive * Responds well to men and women equally * Got along very well with my five other dogs from the first day I found her (male Siberian Husky, male Australian Shepherd, male Pekingese, female Rat Terrier and female French Bulldog) * Intuitively knows which of my dogs she can play with and to what degree * Submissive and respectful to other dogs and people; responds to boundaries * So far, Sugar has been an outdoor dog but I believe she will make a fabulous indoor/outdoor companion in the future * Sugar only barks when she sees a stranger, a deer coming too close the fence, etc. Sugar barks for "good reasons"; she does not bark just to bark. Because she is deaf, Sugar, generally, barks at things she can see and not hear. For example, Sugar does not bark when other dogs bark, when ambulances drive by, fireworks, etc. * Learned how to sit with me using hand signals and treats * I do not know if Sugar is potty-trained because I have not let her in the house. Sugar has never gone to the bathroom in her very large partition nor on the concrete patio. Sugar has only ever gone to the bathroom in the far side of the very large fenced grassy area along with my dogs. I suspect Sugar will learn to be potty-trained very quickly if she is not potty-trained already. * Has never jumped up on people * Very well behaved, smart and has a lot of potential for further training Best Suited For: * Active family who can take Sugar on regular walks * Someone with patience who can work with a deaf dog and who is able to train Sugar to be able to live inside * Sugar is not hyperactive nor does she have the personality traits of a working breed (eg. Siberian Husky). Sugar will thrive in an environment with average activity. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.
