When introductions are done right, he sets the tone beautifully. The poodle in him? Exceptionally smart. Speak to him in regular English; he understands. He knows tons of words and commands, learns quickly, and is always tuned in. He even knows his toys by name, though he may deliver them almost to you. Close enough. Colonel craves human connection. He’s not clingy, but he wants to be near his people. Interaction, touch, playtime, you’re his favorite teammate. He’ll sleep on your bed if it meets his comfort standards (soft blanket preferred). Otherwise, he’s happy in his own bed like the independent gentleman he is. He’s crate-trained and does well when you’re out. If you’re home, expect a brief howl just to check in, let him stretch his legs, and he’ll return to his crate on his own.
