You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.DOB: 9/27/2021 Hi! I'm Thor. I'm a young adult who still thinks I am a puppy. I love car rides and I know some basic commands. I get along great with other dogs, my foster mom has 5 other dogs in the house that I can play with. I also go on playdates to my foster mom's brother's house to play with his rescue Oscar. My foster mom caught me playing in a mud puddle so I guess I may be a good water dog. I am still learning and growing but I am looking for my forever home.  I prefer a home with a fenced yard or with a very active family. Are you willing to take a chance on me? He's a great loving rambunctious dog. My situation has changed and I hate to let him go. He needs a loving home and room to run, probably a tall fenced in yard or a safe open place to run as he can still jump very well. Let me know if you're I interested

Story
Meet Bear. He is a gentle giant to his people. He is low energy and just likes to be present in a room. He will spring to his feet when he hears a leash, and walks beautifully right beside you with minimal pulling. Bear would do best with another dog to show him the ropes. He needs to be around another low energy dog, and does particularly well with a submissive female. Bear is timid and needs a family that will continue to help him build his confidence around strangers. Bear would do best in a home with no children. Quick, sudden movements and loud noises frighten him. If Bear sounds like a good fit for your family, please apply to meet Bear!If you are interested in this animal please start by filling out an adoption application at http://www.CFP-NC.org/adoptions and we will get in touch with you.

Story
Hi, I'm Stella! I'm a baby black lab mix with just a couple of little white specks on me...see if you can find them! My foster mom says I am super fun-loving and sweet and am doing great on my potty- and crate-training! I love running and playing with my doggie foster siblings, exploring the yard, playing with toys and, of course, treats! I also like to curl up in a blanket and cuddle! I would love a fenced yard, a doggie brother or sister, and a home where I won't be a crate for more than a couple of hours at a time. If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application! If you are interested in this animal please start by filling out an adoption application at http://www.CFP-NC.org/adoptions and we will get in touch with you.

Story
Buddy is an older gentleman looking for his forever home where people are home or either would like to take him everywhere with them. He's a great constant companion that really likes to be with you at all times! Buddy is definitely a people pleaser and seeks out scratches and cuddles from people. He is an adaptable dog, as long as he is given the time to adapt to situations. He loves to cuddle and will try to snuggle up at any opportunity given (sitting, laying down, etc). Buddy is house trained and is very food motivated. He loves his food and treats! Buddy does exhibit signs of separation anxiety and is taking daily Fluoxetine for it in order to help. He does not appreciate being left alone in the crate at all, nor does he appreciate being alone at home a lot. He wants to be with his people, so an ideal home for him would be someone who is home more often than not and is a strong leader as Buddy can be quite stubborn at times. He does get into a bit of trouble at times with his nose, so it is best to keep those counters clear and those garbage cans out of his reach.Buddy has lived with multiple dogs at a time and co-exists well with them. He does not like dogs in his face, but he can get along well with dogs who are more mellow and relaxed. He is not a playful dog, but does like his hard chew toys. He mostly enjoys just laying around in the same room as you and cuddling. He also enjoys being outside with you and will bathe in the sun while you're out there with him.In November 2022, CFP had our vet remove two masses from Buddy. Both returned as cancerous masses - one a spindle cell and the other a hemangiosarcoma. Prognosis for Buddy is to allow him to live out his remaining time, which for other diagnosed dogs with hemangiosarcoma has been averaged at over 900 days. We do not want to limit Buddy's chances of finding his forever home, so we will keep searching for his home and allow him to still be adoptable but with complete transparency on his situation. He is otherwise a healthy old man and deserves a final home.If you'd like to meet Buddy and see if you are the home for him you can start by submitting an application and should it be a good fit, his foster will reach out to you.If you are interested in this animal please start by filling out an adoption application at http://www.CFP-NC.org/adoptions and we will get in touch with you.
