He loves to hop in and out of a baby pool. Playing tug with his foster siblings is always a good time. He could play fetch for days and actually brings it back. He enjoys walks and taking in all the smells. Marty equally enjoys chilling and getting loved on, such an affectionate guy. He’s always excited about a car ride and will sit quietly just enjoying the adventure. Dislikes: Marty can be nervous when new people come visit, but then realizes treats galore will be tossed. What makes this dog special: Marty is such a joy to have around. He fit into his foster home immediately. What good manners! He knows basic commands like sit and down. Marty is 100% potty trained. He immediately goes to his room when asked and sleeps quietly until he’s let out. He’s a great listener and just wants to please. Marty is medium energy. He loves to play but then is content to lounge with his person. He loves love and is always reassuring us he’s our guy with his affection. Marty's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting Marty, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. Story
Name: Anderson Cooper Gender: Male Age: 6 months Expected Adult Size: Medium (25-50 lbs) Breed: Lab Mix Energy Level: Medium-High Dog Friendly: Cooper likes to wrestle and play at daycare but needs to be the only dog at home.  Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes, kids 12+ because he needs guidance and has a lot of energy Apartment Friendly: Yes Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Yes What makes this dog special: If you missed the instagram post, Anderson Cooper was promoted on social media by the real Andy Cohen (@bravoandy) himself! You're actually adopting a little super star by adopting this special boy. He's a super fun loving guy, looking to be your ride or die all day long, then your lap dog come evening.  He has been uninterested in cats and horses. One of the best leash walkers we've ever met. Coop can be on a tie out, and while a fence is great, hasn’t been necessary as he has fantastic recall. He's also great in the car! Our favorite thing about Coop is how he will greet you with a smile, a kiss and jump right into your arms. He truly loves humans and wants to be around them as much as he can.  Ideal Home/Adopter: Looking for an active home (hiking, running, agility, continues training classes, etc) would be best for his high energy.  Coop attends daycare and is an absolute favorite among the employees. He loves to romp and play with the big dogs! (He thinks he is a big dog after all!) Cooper has basic obedience but he is just a pup so still has some things to learn, but he is very smart and very treat motivated.  Anderson Cooper's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in Anderson, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. Meet Serena! Gender: Female Age: 1 year Current Weight: 40lbs Expected Adult Size: Medium (25-50 lbs) Breed: Lab mix Energy Level: Medium Dog Friendly: Serena lives with another dog and they get along swimmingly, however slow intros are required. Not your thing? No worries!  Serena is happy to be the solo pup.  Cat Friendly: No Kid Friendly: Yes to kids 8 years old or older Apartment Friendly: Currently lives in an apartment but would do better in a house Physical Fence Requirement: Fence with visual privacy, any height Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home/Adopter: Serena is looking for a forever home with a stable cast of characters, just like from her favorite TV show, Parks and Rec.  She's dog-reactive but currently cohabiting with another dog, showing that she can adapt with the right guidance. Serena is a bit nervous around new people, so a home with familiar faces is ideal to help her feel secure and comfortable. Adopt Serena, and you'll have your very own "Lil' Sebastian" to brighten your days!  And we mean lil', she is a tiny 40 pounds.  If you work from home, Serena is the perfect companion. She'll happily nap under your desk, waiting for playtime and fun breaks. Serena is a quick learner, treat-motivated, and loves to show off her skills whether it is performing tricks or solving puzzles.  Likes: Serena loves to play fetch. Much like her namesake (the OG Serena), she supports women's sports, whether she is playing them or watching them with you on the couch.  She is just happy to have you as her teammate.  Dislikes: Cats are terrible in her expert opinion. Just let us know if you want to see her credentials and full details of her scientific study.  What makes this dog special: Serena is such a loving and funny girl. From awkward sleeping positions to her array of hilarious vocals, this delightful girl knows how to communicate love and joy. Scoop her up before the competition! Serena's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting Serena, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved.   Thanks to Emma Mortellaro, (614) Media Group, for providing some of the photos.  ##1720305##

Story
Meet Sasha! This sweet girl came to us after spending her life at a puppy mill. Sasha was used strictly for breeding and never knew what it was like to be a companion. Now that she is out, she is learning to love her new life!  Due to being kept in a kennel 24/7 with little to no human contact, Sasha has had a lot to adjust to! She has done amazing! She can still get nervous in new situations and a loud, busy environment isn't for her. She will need a patient owner who is committed to helping her learn to be a dog and thrive in her new found freedom!  Sasha is wonderful with other dogs and heavily relies on them for confidence. Due to this we will require her forever home have at least one friendly, confident canine companion to show her the ropes! She is also good with cats. Due to her skittish nature Sasha would do best in a home with older, more quiet, respectful children. Toddlers would be too much for her.  This girl completed our prison training program and did wonderful! She understands her basic commands and is happy to do them! She is still a little skittish on the leash, but with time and work we have no doubt she will do great with that too!  Sasha is crate trained, house trained and loves attention once she warms up in her environment. She is also up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped and heartworm negative. If you are looking for a smiling, wiggly, yellow pup to greet you every time you come home and have the patience and love in your heart to show her she can trust humans, we would love to talk to you! Please visit out website and complete an adoption application! https://www.prodogsohio.org/adoptables   Her adoption fee is $350  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We appreciate your support, in order to help us continue to rescue dogs! Donations can be made via our PayPal account - info@prodogsohio.org. You must be willing to commute to the location that the pet is being fostered in order to be eligible to adopt. We do not ship our pets. We also require that you personally bring the pet back to us should the adoption not work out.   We do NOT negotiate adoption fees. All money goes to support our rescue operation. We are 100% volunteered based. Name: Max Gender: Male Age: 3 years Current Weight: 80lbs Expected Adult Size: Large (50-100 lbs) Breed: Lab Mix Energy Level: Medium Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog Cat Friendly: Selective Kid Friendly: Yes to kids 12 years old or older Apartment Friendly: No Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home/Adopter: A home with another large playful dog.  Someone who wants a lap dog (despite his size).  He does well on a leash and loves to go for walks, but he is strong so someone sturdy. Likes: Loves toys- fluffy and bones! Loves to cuddle with you/be pet, loves to be outside, play with other dogs Dislikes: Doesn’t love getting in his crate so he needs encouragement in the form of treats of a push What makes this dog special: He plays hard, loves hard, sleeps hard, repeat. Max's previous owner was evicted and he was left behind and ended up at a shelter where he had the opportunity to donate life saving blood to a dog suspected to be poisoned. Max saved her life and now that dog is adopted! Despite his heroism, he sat in an outdoor kennel at the shelter being overlooked, so he came to RO. He was Lyme positive and is finishing up meds for that. He has spent the last several weeks decompressing and re-learning how to be a dog. He passed daycare and wanted to make friends with everybody!  Max's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##2128811##

Story
Gucci is a lab/boxer mix, he is approx 6 months old and 22 lbs, he will probably be in the 40 to 50 lb range when fully grown. He is one of a litter of puppies rescued from a known dumping ground in Houston TX. Gucci is a typical puppy, he loves to run and play in the yard. Gucci gets along with the other rescue dogs. He is not yet fully house or leash/harness trained, but he is very smart and learns very quickly. He is a little on the shy side with people but will always run up for a treat! Gucci is a very handsome boy with beautiful markings and he has a very nice disposition. He will be a great family dog and companion. He would be a great dog for hiking or the dog park. Gucci must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and he must have a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Gucci is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Gucci's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Columbus, Akron, or Cinncinnati OH. Gucci is with our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please email kathy@houstonshaggydogrescue.org if you are interested in adopting this good boy. Story
Meet Iris! This sweet 4 year old, 30 pound,  Golden Retriever/Poodle mix came to us after being used as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. Iris has overcome a lot in her time with us and is ready to settle in to her forever home!   As typical with most former mill dogs, Iris can be pretty shy in new situations. She bonds quickly with the people consistently in her life and loves to cuddle! She can still be afraid of loud noises and too much activity so we are looking for a child-free home for her. Due to most mill dogs being a flight risk, we will also require her adopter have a physically fenced in yard for her to safely enjoy being outside!   Iris needs a patient adopter who is willing to put in the time and love to show her what it's like to live as a spoiled pet! She does great with other dogs and has been indifferent to cats. She will need continued work on building her confidence.   Iris is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.
