Ideal Home/Adopter: Bosco had surgery in early March for an elbow dislocation. He's been on strict rest, but is now able to take short walks several times a day. He will be going to PT at OSU until mid-May and needs an adopter who is able to commit to continuing his recovery and take him to appointments twice a week. He is excellent at entertaining himself and loves sunbathing in the yard. The ideal home for him would be one with a fenced yard and works from home or has a hybrid schedule.
Likes: Car rides, any kind of toy, warm sunny days, people, other dogs, snuggling up with his people on the couch
Dislikes: When his foster siblings don't want to play with him, loud noises. There really isn't much Bosco doesn't like and he's a confident, well adapted dog.
Additional Considerations: Bosco was found on the side of the road at the end of February with an injury to his leg. He was taken to a local shelter who contacted RO. After further evaluation at the vet, he required surgery to repair a dislocated elbow. Bosco is still recovering from his surgery and was on strict crate rest. He's able to slowly start walking, but he will not walk normal for a few months while his leg continues to heal. The vet doesn't expect any significant long term damage due to his injury.
What makes this dog special: Bosco came to the rescue and it was discovered he had two broken front legs. He was pretty pathetic, but with the help of the wonderful surgeons at OSU and his foster family, he's on his way to making a great recovery. Despite what he's been through, Bosco loves every single person he meets and doesn't know a stranger. Bosco is house trained and crate trained and fits into his foster home very well. We suspect he was owned at some point, but his owners never came looking for him. Bosco adores the other dogs in his foster home and he's excellent with the cat as well. He could live in a home with another dog or be an only dog. Bosco is used to his foster mom working from home and while he is fantastic in his crate for long periods of time, we aren't sure how he'll do if he were left alone for an entire workday.
Bosco's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in Bosco, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved.
