Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet TJ a Doberman/Lab mix (our best guess). This boy is such a lover and just loves to be with his person. He is a total lap dog and just loves to snuggle with his human. He has done well with older children but doesn't know how big he is sometimes and would probably knock over smaller children. TJ doesn’t care much for other dogs. He does NOT do well with cats.    His hobbies are chewing on his nylabones, playing fetch with his stuffed animals, going on walks, and of course cuddling!    He is well behaved on leash using a Halti and knows sit, down, come, and shake. He is also housebroken and crate trained!     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 15, 2024, 12:01 am

Story
Name: Marty Gender: Male Age: About 1 yr Current Weight: 75lbs Expected Adult Size: Large (50-100 lbs) Breed: Labrador/Pyrenees (60%) per DNA test Energy Level: Medium-High Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog Cat Friendly: Unknown Kid Friendly: Yes to kids 12 years old or older Apartment Friendly: No Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence required, 5'-6' height required Crate Trained: Yes for short periods of time Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home/Adopter: Marty is a working breed and needs good amount of exercise. He is growing and learning still. Marty is a little abrasive/dominant at first when he greets new dogs. If corrected immediately, he backs down and usually wants to play. He acts like he's the "new, tough dude on the block", but literally just wants a "sparing" buddy to play with. He's usually good in a crate for 4hrs or less, as long as he's had exercise. Marty isn't a quiet or lazy dog, but a young boy wanting to have lots of fun. Likes: Marty loves to be outside. He loves hard chew toys and wrestling. He's a little stubborn, but he's also young and quite determined. Dislikes: Marty isn't fond of being alone for long periods of time. He would love a friend that he can wrestle with. What makes this dog special:  Marry is a very good alert dog and will inform you every time Amazon, the mailman or your in-laws have arrived. He enjoys the outdoors, going for walks, hikes and being a good boy. Marty's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting Marty, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##1730869##

Story
Name: Bosco Gender: Male Age: 10 months Current Weight: 43lbs Expected Adult Size: Medium (25-50 lbs) Breed: DNA results - Boxer (21%), Labrador Retriever (19%), Cattle Dog (17%), Pit Bull (17%), Beagle (15%) Energy Level: Medium Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog. Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes, 5 years and over Apartment Friendly: No Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence required Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home/Adopter: Bosco had surgery in early March for an elbow dislocation.  He's been on strict rest, but is now able to take short walks several times a day.  He will be going to PT at OSU until mid-May and needs an adopter who is able to commit to continuing his recovery and take him to appointments twice a week.  He is excellent at entertaining himself and loves sunbathing in the yard.  The ideal home for him would be one with a fenced yard and works from home or has a hybrid schedule.  Likes: Car rides, any kind of toy, warm sunny days, people, other dogs, snuggling up with his people on the couch  Dislikes: When his foster siblings don't want to play with him, loud noises.  There really isn't much Bosco doesn't like and he's a confident, well adapted dog. Additional Considerations: Bosco was found on the side of the road at the end of February with an injury to his leg. He was taken to a local shelter who contacted RO.  After further evaluation at the vet, he required surgery to repair a dislocated elbow.  Bosco is still recovering from his surgery and was on strict crate rest.  He's able to slowly start walking, but he will not walk normal for a few months while his leg continues to heal.  The vet doesn't expect any significant long term damage due to his injury. What makes this dog special: Bosco came to the rescue and it was discovered he had two broken front legs.  He was pretty pathetic, but with the help of the wonderful surgeons at OSU and his foster family, he's on his way to making a great recovery.  Despite what he's been through, Bosco loves every single person he meets and doesn't know a stranger.  Bosco is house trained and crate trained and fits into his foster home very well.  We suspect he was owned at some point, but his owners never came looking for him.  Bosco adores the other dogs in his foster home and he's excellent with the cat as well.  He could live in a home with another dog or be an only dog.  Bosco is used to his foster mom working from home and while he is fantastic in his crate for long periods of time, we aren't sure how he'll do if he were left alone for an entire workday. Bosco's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in Bosco, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##1983777##

Story
BugFemaleAge: 14 monthsWeight: 41 lbsBreed: Lab Mix Hi! I’m Bug! My foster family says I am part Love-Bug and part Cuddle-Bug! I get along with other dogs and cats (I live with a cat and will sometimes chase the cat in “play mode” but I will also let the cat nap next to me on the couch, so we get along well). I have not been around kids to know how I would do with them though. I am house trained and crate trained and really don’t mind sleeping in my crate, but I do really love sleeping in bed next to my humans (sometimes I nose my way under the covers). I walk well on a leash and really love walking around the neighborhood. My favorite toy is any kind of ball (especially bouncy or squeaky ones)! I can play fetch with myself, tossing it up in the air then pouncing on it! When I was just a young pup, my previous owner was not kind to me and I needed medical care to survive. That chapter is now behind me, but because of that background, I do take some time to warm up to new people (especially men). Treats, patience, calm energy, and more treats are the way to my heart. Your gentle, patient approach will be rewarded with all the cuddles and tail wags when I learn to trust you. I do bark at new people because I am scared, but once they’ve paid the “treat tax”, I quiet down and will make friends. I also LOVE to eat and have learned how to sit and wait until I’m told “Ok” before I chow down. I have lived with a variety of other foster dogs and love to play with them (especially wrestling) but I am serious about all the balls belonging to me so a dog that won’t mind when I steal the ball from them would be ideal if I will have a dog sibling. If you are interested in meeting Bug, apply to adopt her at: www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $350 Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children must be 5 years old or older.  ##1892497##
