Story
Very smart playful puppy. Available for virtual 'meet and greet'. Please visit www.dixieadoptbles.org for our adoption application. We are located in South Mississippi, but have a transport that travels regularly (every 3 to 4 weeks) up the East coast and to Ohio with pre-adopted animals.Dixie Adoptables is one of many shelters working to get animals out of the area where shelters are always full, and adoptions of the sweet babies are hard to come by. We are grateful to every person that chooses to adopt and give a home to a loving animal, whose only fault was being born in a part of the country where their value is underappreciated and spay/neuter is done far too infrequently.

Story
Meet Hazelnut! Gender: Female Age: 2 years old Current Weight: 50-55 lbs Expected Adult Size: Large (50-100 lbs) Breed: Black Lab Energy Level: Medium-High Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog Cat Friendly: Unknown Kid Friendly: Yes to kids 8 years old or older Apartment Friendly: No Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence required, 5'-6' height required Crate Trained: Yes for short periods of time Potty Trained: Yes Likes: Toys of any kind. She will walk around with a toy in her mouth most of the time and it's beyond adorable! She loves snuggling, the closer the better. Hazel absolutely melts for pets, belly rubs and scratches. She is very, very affectionate! Hazel absolutely loves to chase a ball in the backyard. Dislikes: Hazel does not enjoy being crated, but she will settle down in her crate after a few minutes. Hazel has separation anxiety and would prefer not to be left alone for long periods of time. She is on medication to help with her anxiety. Ideal Home/Adopter: Hazel's ideal home would be with adults who are home a lot or work from home. Hazel is a velcro dog and likes to be with her people as much as possible. She does have some separation anxiety and does best when she can be close to her people. Hazel has not been around many kids, but we think she would do best with kids above the age of 8. Hazel needs a fully fenced in yard where she can run around to get some energy out. Hazel is dog friendly and loves playing with other dogs. Additional Considerations: Hazel came to the rescue with her two day old puppies. She was an excellent momma, but now it's time to focus on her needs! Hazel is so loving, sweet and affectionate. She truly would love nothing more than to spend her days beside her person. What makes this dog special: Have we mentioned how sweet she is?! Hazel has stolen the hearts of several of our fosters and she will do the same to her future adopter. She is loving, silly, funny and stunningly gorgeous! Hazel's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting Hazel, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##1581149##

Story
Meet Ozzy! Gender: Male Age: 10-12 months Current Weight: 50 lbs Expected Adult Size: Medium (25-50 lbs) Breed: Lab Mix Energy Level: Medium Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog. Ozzy currently lives with 2 senior dogs in his foster home. Cat Friendly: Unknown Kid Friendly: Unknown Apartment Friendly: No Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise Crate Trained: Yes for short periods of time Potty Trained: Yes Likes: Loves his toys and playing ball. He is working on not getting too overexcited during play but is redirectable. Ideal Home/Adopter: Ozzy would likely do best with someone who is moderately active and can take on frequent walks. He has separation anxiety and would do best with someone that works from home or is home frequently What makes this dog special: Hi, I'm Ozzy! I'm a 10–12-month-old Lab mix and I can't wait to find my furever home! My foster parents think I am just swell and describe me as sweet, smart, goofy, athletic, and curious. I am fully potty trained and have not had a single accident in the house! I will easily go into my crate when asked, but I definitely prefer to be close to you as much as possible. I will sleep in my crate for about 6 hours before getting restless, but when let out I happily go back to sleep on my doggy bed in front of the fire place. I love toys of all kind and hope you are as excited as I am when I parade by you to show them off! I get along with other dogs. I am not kid tested, but would probably do best in a home with older children. I am still getting used to meeting new people and it takes me a minute to scope out the situation, but I am learning that there are good people and I enjoy all of the attention I can get!I was very underweight when rescued and still have some food scarcity mindset so I prefer to eat in my crate for space and privacy. I will sit and stay (90% of the time), and am working on learning to shake. I mostly like to lounge around with you and my toys. If I do get a little over-excited I am easily redirectable and just want to make you happy and proud! Ozzy's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting Ozzy, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##1635470##
