My name is Shadow, and I’m a sweet, independent girl who just needs a little time to discover that I’m safe and loved. I came to the shelter as a stray, so my past is a mystery, and I was very nervous when I first arrived. With patience and kindness, I’ve been slowly coming out of my shell. Once I’m comfortable, my goofy and playful side starts to shine.I’m an active girl who loves exploring my surroundings, going for walks, and, most of all, enjoying tasty treats. I know how to sit, lie down, and shake paw, and I’m happy to learn when there’s food involved. I walk nicely on leash, although I like to stop and smell the roses along the way. I’m not the type to demand attention, and I may take some time before I’m ready to seek out affection. Right now, I’m often more interested in exploring than cuddling, but I expect my bond with my new people will grow with time. I do best when I’m allowed to build confidence at my own pace, with gentle, consent-based interactions.I can live with other dogs, but I can be quite forward and enthusiastic when saying hello, so my canine companion should be tolerant of my puppy-like antics and energetic greetings. I don`t know how I feel about cats, so a cat in my new home should be confident and dog-savvy, with slow and thoughtful introductions. I’m expected to do well with respectful, dog-savvy children of any age.I could likely do well in an apartment as long as I’m given plenty of mental and physical enrichment. My ideal family will be patient, understanding, and willing to help me build confidence while I learn what it means to have a home of my own.If you’re looking for a food-motivated, playful girl who may need a little time before she lets you see her whole heart, I hope you’ll give me a chance. Her ears will need continued care, and her adopters will need to be committed to keeping them clean and watching closely for signs of infection. With the right care, Willow is ready to enjoy her golden years in a loving home. Hi, I’m Chowder, and I’m basically a sweet, slightly shy guy who is very interested in becoming your new best friend.I can be a little nervous when meeting new people, but give me a few minutes and I’ll be back for more pets, treats and attention. I’m gentle, playful, and pretty food-motivated, especially if you happen to have freeze-dried beef liver. I know sit, paw and come, I seem to know my name, and I’m always up for learning more. I’m also house trained and, according to my previous family, non-destructive.I’m a pretty good walking buddy, although I’m still working on my leash manners, so a little patience and training will help me become an even better neighbourhood explorer. I love my toys and chews and am happy to trade them for treats or another toy. Sharing is caring, after all.I’ve done well meeting other dogs and could happily live with a friendly, playful canine companion, but I’d also be perfectly content as your one-and-only. I’ve lived with a cat before, although I was more afraid of the cat than fascinated by it, so I’d do best with a dog-savvy cat and proper introductions. I’ve also lived with kids and done well, so respectful children are welcome.One thing you should know about me: being left alone can be a little hard for me, especially while I’m settling into a new home. I may bark or cry on and off before eventually settling, so my family will need to help me learn that alone time is safe and okay. I’ll do best with gradual independence training, plenty of exercise and enrichment, and people who can be patient while I build confidence.I was surrendered through no fault of my own. My previous family adored me, but their schedule meant I was spending too many long days alone, and they wanted me to have a home with more time for attention, play and enrichment.So, if you’re looking for a smart, gentle, playful guy with a soft heart, a silly streak and a serious appreciation for snacks, I think we should meet. I’ll bring the wiggly greetings; you bring the beef liver.
