We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Story
Eddy is a 4 year old brown lab/german shepard mix (his birthday is September). I got him as a rehome from a young couple that didn't have a yard. Eddy has lots of energy and needs a yard to run in, romp, and play. Although he loves to be outside he prefers to be with his owners, so if you are inside he would prefer to be with you. If left outside he would cry to come in. He is a large dog that doesn't understand his size. He thinks he is a lap dog and will try to sit right in your lap. He is good with kids, it's just his size and strength he is unaware of. He is house trained, no accidents. He can, at times, eat fast so we use one of those food bowls that looks like a maze. I recommend a placement with older children, teens, due to him being rambunctious and not understanding his strength and size. No property destruction, except he has chewed on a couple children's toys that were left out (he is drawn to stuffed animals). Due to pulling, a gentle lead is used during walks.
