Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 11/20/25 Balki is a sweet young pup who had a very hard start in life. He was in a shelter where he contracted parvo virus and barely survived. But he fought hard to live and he won! He beat the dreaded parvo and is now regaining weight and doing so well! He is a great little guy who likes everyone. He loves other dogs and doesn't bother cats. We believe he may have been dumped before he ended up at the shelter because he is scared of cars. When walking on leash, if he is near a car or truck, he gets visibly scared and will try to pull away. Once he is inside the car he does fine. He just has some emotional scars that are still healing. But he's getting better all the time, thanks to a foster helping him feel safe. Balki is working on house training. He isn't quite fully trained yet but is making progress every day. We dont know his breed, but he will likely be a big boy once grown. He currently only weighs about 25 pounds and he is about 5 months old. He is a little delayed in his growth due to having parvo, but he will catch up soon. We believe he will be around 60 lbs once grown. He will be ready for his new home by mid December. He is neutered, UTD on vaccines, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.  Balki is located in Arkansas. He can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays. To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Their mama is a black lab, and we believe daddy is the neighbor's Great Pyrenees. These are the sweetest, most adorable babies! They are very chill, laid back puppies that train easily. They love affection and they are very cuddly and friendly with everyone they meet. We believe these babies will be large-extra large dogs once grown. Probably somewhere between Lab and Pyrenees size. Their foster family says they are some of the best puppies they have fostered, which is saying a lot because they've fostered many puppies for us! These babies are about 3 months old now and will be ready to go to their new homes after the 1st of the year.
