Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 1/8/26 Balki is a super sweet and loving boy who is good with everyone-cats, dogs, and kids. He is fully house trained and crate trained. He weighs 40 lbs. We do not know his breed but our best guess is Lab mix. He has long legs and a slim build. He loves other dogs and does well with cats.  Great with kids! He is about 6 months old.  He had a very hard start in life. He was in a shelter where he contracted parvo virus and barely survived. But he fought hard to live and he won! He beat the dreaded parvo and is now regaining weight and doing so well! He is a great little guy who likes everyone. We believe he may have been dumped before he ended up at the shelter because he is scared of cars. When walking on leash, if he is near a car or truck, he gets visibly scared and will try to pull away. Once he is inside the car he does fine. He just has some emotional scars that are still healing. But he's getting better all the time, thanks to a foster helping him feel safe.  He will likely be a big boy once grown. He is a little delayed in his growth due to having parvo, but he will catch up soon. We believe he will be around 60 lbs once grown. He is neutered, UTD on vaccines, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.  Balki is located in Arkansas. He can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays. To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.1/17/26 Angel is a 32lb 5 1/2 month old hound mix. She is the sibling of Theo and Andi. She is the smallest out of her litter. We named her Angel because that is what she is. She craves for attention and just wants to make you happy. She is playful and sweet. When we rescued angel and her siblings she was wrapped around a tree with less than a foot of lead she couldn’t lay down, or even sit and definitely couldn’t get into her house when it was freezing cold at the time and let alone food or water which they didn’t have. When we rescued her she was so appreciative it felt like she was hugging me to say thank you. Just like Theo and Andi she gets a long great with our goats and tortoise, she is not as interested in the chickens or cats like Andi and Theo which they have not interacted with. She is will be a great family member.  She is spayed, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.  Located in Arkansas. Hi! My name is Murdoch and I am a super good boy looking for my forever home. My Vet friend said I'm probably around 5-6 years old and maybe a little mixed up with my breed, she listed me as a Pitbull mix but my foster mom says I must be part Lab and Hound too because I 'talk' all of the time. I'm always on go...always happy! I love to play and meet new people of all sizes, but I can be too much excitement for smaller children. I need to meet doggie friends slowly because I always want to be friends with other friendly dogs but can be overwhelmingly excited. I'm very much super house trained and crate trained as long as my human takes me out regularly. I love treats, any treats....like Any treats especially left over pizza. I'm pretty big on walks and hiking, but totally love to cuddle up with my person and watch Hudson & Rex reruns on the TV, because who doesn't love a Canine hero? I do very well on leash, except I will pull initially out of excitement. Did I mention I love Car rides and Pup Cups, because those are two of my favorites. My ideal home would be with an active human who loves to have a handsome dog hanging out of the car window cruising through town...oh and a female doggie sister would be good also so I could have someone to play with, but that's more of a wish than a requirement. I love going to doggy daycare to socialize with all my friends and make new ones! If my new family has kids they probably should be over 10 yrs old just so I don't get too excited and knock them over accidentally. I cannot...absolutely cannot go to a home with small animals, small dogs, or cats since I see anything small as a toy. I am fully vetted. Please be my forever family. Murdoch is located in Arkansas. He can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Tux is currently at Paws in Prison. He will graduate in February. Let’s find him a home! Please share. From Paws in Prison:“Because their struggle is important, let’s continue with Tux’s Profile In Courage. He was just a tiny pup when he and his sister were dumped. They had no idea where they were or what they should do to stay alive…two things babies should never have to worry about. They kept moving, deciding walking was better than doing nothing. It was a life-saving decision. They stumbled on house and crawled under it. Now safe from the elements, they waited. And waited. Until the miracle came. The two terrified puppies were found…hungry and shaky but alive. That was the moment their lives really began. Both are with us now. His sister, Panda, has been adopted. But not Tux. He’s a 4-month-old lab mix (we think) with some ticking. We don’t have a current weight on him but we’re guessing 50-60 pounds when grown. Tux is handsome, a tad shy but friendly, and wants all the affection and interaction he can get. Just like we all do. He’s working on his manners and social graces. Those lessons are are hard to come by in a dark crawl space. His schooling is going well. Tux wants his very own people who love and understand him. People he can trust. And in return, they’ll have a sweet-faced baby boy who will love them with everything he has.” While at Paws in Prison, he’s paired with inmate trainers learning all the basics and maybe some tricks! When he graduates, he‘ll have all the skills needed to pass the Canine Good Citizen test. Good with other dogs. Was around cats at his foster home and was fine with them. Hasn’t been around kids but he’s just a baby himself so he should be just fine with them. He is neutered, microchipped, UTD on vaccines, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Tux is located in Arkansas. He can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well.
