Story
We have a very special boy available for adoption...❤...Meet Clyde...🥰...Clyde is one of 2 dogs that we saved from a wonderful shelter in Texas. Both dogs were confiscated by animal control from a homeless woman who suffered from pretty severe mental illness...This woman had recently pulled both dogs out of different shelters and was living out of her car, letting the dogs run in the street. She had permanently dyed Clyde's ears and tail in vibrant colors and both dogs, particularly Clyde, were very thin...The other dog, Bonnie, has already been adopted and is living a charmed life in New England, but big, goofy Clyde needs to find a home of his own... ❤...Clyde is thought to be about 3 years old, is a Shepherd/Lab/Great Dane mix (?) and weighs about 85 lbs. Clyde has a WONDERFUL personality, plays great with dogs large and small and loves to be with his people...He has medium energy and will happily come sit with you for cuddles and then go off and play some more...❤...Clyde is not a fan of thunder and fireworks, but is fine as long as he is in a safe place inside. Clyde is a wonderful boy and would be an excellent addition to a family with older children who can take him on adventures, a playful appropriate sized canine housemate for companionship. Clyde needs a large fenced yard for exploration and free mental time. ❤...If you live in the Northeast USA or Texas and feel you can give Clyde the home of his dreams, fill out an adoption application and we promise to respond promptly...❤...Clyde's adoption fee is $500, which includes: New bed, harness, color, leashes, bone, ball, medical record, food for transitioning and transportation home. Clyde is currently in boarding in Texas and will be transported to his forever home when adopted.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Frankie is a senior lab currently living in a foster home, where his gentle and affectionate nature truly shines. He is a loving dog who forms strong bonds with his people and enjoys being close to those who care for him. :) Frankie is a true love bug—content with companionship, quiet moments, and steady affection. He also has the cutest smile that reflects his kind personality. Frankie would do best in a home looking for a loyal, easygoing companion who appreciates the special bond that comes with adopting a senior dog. :))Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
