Story
Meet Bear! A purebred 5-year old black lab. He is sweet, energetic, and affectionate. He's full of love and enjoys playtime chasing a ball, swimming in the water, and spending quality time with people. He's healthy, up-to-date on vaccines, and has lots of love to give. He is loyal and eager to please, making him a wonderful companion for active families or individuals. He needs a home that can provide him attention and interaction very often. Due to unfortunate circumstances, I am unable to keep him and he needs a family or individual who can spend time with him. He just wants to be loved often. He does good with other animals (cats and dogs), but because he is not neutered he would probably do best with a female dog. He is amazing with kids and loves to be wherever they are. He is also kennel trained. He needs someone who can provide structure, love and plenty of exercise.

Story
He will be 4 years old on 01/18/2022. I am looking to rehome him due to ongoing behavioral issues. He struggles with severe anxiety and is currently taking fluoxetine. He is mostly up to date on his vaccinations, but is still due for Bordetella and Leptospirosis. He is reactive to both dogs and cats, so he needs to be the only pet in the home. I do not have children, so I’m unsure how he would behave around them. He has previously been in a fight with another dog and required surgery on one of his legs, so he is sensitive to touch in that area. He may occasionally have accidents in the house—I'm not sure what triggers it, but it does happen from time to time. He knows basic commands but tends to respond only when treats are involved. I love him deeply, but I believe rehoming him is in his best interest. I don’t have the time or, honestly, the patience necessary to continue working through his challenges, despite trying everything I could. Please feel free to reach out! Thank you!

Story
Meet Lewis Lewis is the definition of “play hard, love harder.” This handsome Lab mix has a big personality, a big heart, and a whole lot of enthusiasm for life. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will be your shadow, your cheerleader, and your cuddle buddy, Lewis might just be your guy.Lewis would thrive in a home with a large, securely fenced yard where he can really stretch his legs. He’s strong on leash and gets excited by fast-moving things like cats and cars, so having space to safely run and play is important for him. His absolute favorite pastime? Chasing and pouncing on his beloved Jolly Ball until he’s happily worn out.Lewis has been at the shelter for nearly a year now, and it’s hard to understand why. His distinguished grey muzzle may make him look older, but don’t let that fool you—he’s healthy, energetic, and still full of playful spark. What he really needs is someone willing to look past the grey and see the devoted, joyful companion underneath.Imagine warm afternoons in the yard, Lewis happily tossing his Jolly Ball around, followed by quiet evenings with him curled up beside you, completely content just to be near his person. After so long in the shelter, Lewis deserves a soft place to land and a family to call his own.&#226&#156&#133 Neutered&#226&#156&#133 Vaccinated&#226&#156&#133 Microchipped&#226&#156&#133 Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Lewis? Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: Sponsored by Mister GooseFor more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgFebruary 12, 2026, 5:50 am

Story
THIS IS A COURTESY POST! PLEASE DO NOT SHOW UP AT THE SHELTER TO MEET HIM. HE IS NOT AT THE SHELTER   MEET Apollo  also responds to Paul. How cuuute.    Apollo is a good young boy.  His only fault is his energy... his family sort of ended up with him. They feel bad. But they have realized he deserves more than they can give. He is destructive in home when not properly excercised, and hes a jumper, they have a kid and hes too much with the kid. They have tried to work with him, but have realized that they are not the right fit. All of this is fixable and trainable with the right person or family. Hes just young and needs consistency and training    Here's what they answered to my questions:    "Apollo nickname Paul (he responds to both)  Kind of Leash Trained (we dont walk him as much as he needs) Crate Trained No allergies that we know of Hes ok in the car, sometimes throws up He is ok alone in a crate if nothing is around him but he did eat the rug/plastic at the bottom of the crate Recall only when said a couple times but not in a open space maybe like a backyard No idea about cats or dogs ( except his sibling dog he is fine with) We got him from one of my husband friends, he is half lab half heeler   And no rehoming fee we just want him to go to a really good home."    He is 1.5 yrs old. Black Lab/ Heeler. Neutered. And UTD on shots.   November 1, 2025, 1:27 pm

Story
Meet Beau! Beau is an 8-year-old purebred Black Labrador with a heart as big as his smile. This handsome boy has spent his life as a loved family companion and has lived happily with another dog and with children, making him a wonderful choice for a family setting. Beau is in great health, fully potty trained, and current on all of his vaccinations. Like a true Lab, he lives for playtime — especially when a tennis ball is involved! If you enjoy throwing a ball and watching a happy pup bound after it, Beau will be your perfect partner. While he hasn’t had much exposure to cats, Beau has proven himself to be friendly, social, and well-mannered with people and other dogs. He’s at a lovely stage in life where he still enjoys activity but also appreciates relaxing with his people. &#226&#156&#168 Courtesy Post: This is a courtesy listing. When you apply, we will connect you directly with Beau’s owners to move forward with adoption. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and loving companion, Beau may be the perfect match for you.
