Story
Crissy’s journey started on the side of a rural Texas road, abandoned and alone with her sister. But now? Her story is finally turning around—right here in Wisconsin. She’s gone from shelter bars to wide-open fields and is thriving in her foster home. Crissy lives on a farm, where she’s respectful of horses and chickens, adores the kiddos, and gets along wonderfully with the resident Pyrenees. She even went camping and loved every second of it—this girl’s ready for adventure, as long as it ends with snuggles. Still just a pup, Crissy is that perfect mix of playful and calm. She enjoys exploring, playing with her people, and curling up close when it’s time to wind down. She’s already crate trained, fully potty trained, and has the sweetest, most eager-to-please personality. Crissy is ready for a forever home full of love, patience, and gentle guidance. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick with a heart of gold, Crissy’s your girl. FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

Story
Very nice to meet you, I'm Janeane! I'm about 1 year old & currently weigh about 45 lbs. Humans weren't always nice to me, so when I first meet strangers, I might bark & growl at them to let them know that I'm nervous. But I have two things I really love - treats & other dogs! So, if you're patient & have those two magic items, I'll work through my anxiety & show you my silly, sweet, submissive, cuddly side that makes everyone fall in love. I sleep like an angel in my crate overnight but am now trusted to choose my own place to sleep (and I choose my crate with the open door), I haven't had an accident in the house yet, & I'm a breeze to walk. I'm fine sharing my toys (I love all kinds!) & food with humans & other dogs, aren't touchy about my tail/paws/ears/etc (after I'm comfortable with you) & crave affection so you better be okay with giving scratchies! I love walks where I can sniff & inspect everything & am great on car rides. I haven't met any cats yet. Younger kids can make me nervous, they move fast & that's scary & I growl to have them calm down, but I've been great with teens. I've lived with big & small dogs, & I do *NEED* another dog to show me the ropes & help me understand that I'm okay. I also have a rough & tumble play style, so a dog friend with is okay with that is important. So, if you've got some patience while I learn I'm safe with you, I think we could be great friends! Check out our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs! To sponsor my trip to WI, go to  www.tailwaggers911.com  for more info! ***I am able to go home to my forever family right off of transport! You get a 5 day trial with me in your home. Put in your application soon!***   Please help me get out! I am currently in a place where there are lots of unwanted dogs and not all of us here get the chance I might have to leave! But in order to help me out of here to catch the ride to WI on MARCH 13th and arrive on MARCH 14th, I need *both* a sponsor, and a WI foster home *or* a WI adopter! I have a place for now, but I can't stay here forever and I am worried. The rescue has put a hold on me to save my spot on the trip up north to WI, but now they need YOUR help to get me there - don't wait!!!   Updated: 2/19/2026 Dog Name: Marleigh Mae Sex: Female Estimated Breed: Mixed Breed/Lab Mix Approximate Age: 3 months Approximate Weight: 18 lbs Spay/Neuter Status: Not Yet Spayed (too young) Description: Marleigh Mae was saved from a home where there were 10 siblings were desperately in need of a hero as their home was becoming overwhelming with so many animals. They risked creating more unwanted litters and our Texas rescue partners stepped in to save Marleigh Mae along with two litters. These babies are cuddle bugs and learning to be social, they are young and so happy to have a safe place to sleep and are currently being vetted. Marleigh Mae is sweet and cuddly; she does not bark as of yet and is learning how to use potty pads! She is great with other dogs and kids. These babies are praying for a second chance! Help us save her! Adoption Fee: $550We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time, we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. February 23, 2026, 11:20 pm
