Story
Hi I'm Cheerio! I love you already! Actually I love everybody! I found myself in the shelter because I went out looking for more friends and I got lost. The shelter said I was a lab mix about 45 lbs. And be jealous ladies, I have this beautiful permanent eye liner that make my eyes so big and pretty! My foster mom says I've got the beauty and the brains! I'm perfectly potty trained and crate trained. I have already learned how to sit in just a 2 days. I need more practice on walking on the leash but we will work on that soon. I also REALLY love food, which is good for training because I am extra motivated but sometimes I try to take it off the counter when I'm not supposed to. I'm working on that too. Cheerio does great with dogs of all sizes but she does not like to share her food and needs to be fed separately. She would do best in a home with no small children just because she gets excited and could knock them down. Older children that she could run around with would be great for her! She loves to run and play and she loves lounging in the kiddie pool during the warmer weather. Cheerio is available for adoption with Saving Grace Dog Rescue of San Antonio. The adoption fee is $395.00 with transport. An adoption application and adoption contract are all required. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations appropriate for their age, microchipped, and wormed for internal and external parasites. If you would like more information or an adoption application, please email us at sgdrsa@outlook.com. Please note that visual breed identification in rescue dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only GUESSING at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Story
Obi is a perfectly healthy, very well-behaved, loyal and loving dog with his adult people. We have had him 3.5 years, and his early years are a mystery because he was adopted. The reason he needs a new home is because he does not like to be around children, and while he has done OK with ours, we worry when other children come to visit. One very bad day, a year ago, he did bite a child who was trying to pet him. Obi is not crazy about other dogs and sometimes barks and even lunges at them, so it's nice to have a treat to distract him with when walking around the neighborhood. He tolerates being in a crate but we leave him home alone all day and he does fine. He is accustomed to two walks per day, and can go for miles as long as it's not too hot outside. He loves to swim and play in the snow. He enjoys riding in the car but sometimes barks a lot because he's so excited! He is used to dry dog food but loves ALL food (even paper). We will miss him terribly!

If you are interested in HAZEL or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. HAZEL is the most adorable girl ever! And she has the personality to match! She is gentle, loving and absolutely loves to snuggle. She can be a little shy at first, but once she knows and trusts you, she is the best cuddle buddy you could ever ask for. To know HAZEL is to love her, it is impossible not to do so. Most of HAZEL’s days are spent lounging on the couch, hanging in the backyard or snuggling in bed with her foster dads. HAZEL gets along well with other dogs and absolutely adores her doggie foster siblings. She fit into her foster family seamlessly and would be happiest in a home with at least one other pup friend. HAZEL is an absolute dream to live with. She minds her manners in the house, walks well on a leash and is a perfect passenger in the car. She also knows not to potty in the house and is well-behaved in her crate when her foster family is away. HAZEL’s forever family will feel like they hit the doggie jackpot with this precious baby! To see even more pictures of HAZEL, please copy and paste the following link into your browser: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5ubm6esm0slhgjj/AAC30eFhjOCP8mLF0uwIxutWa?dl=0 HAZEL is spayed, microchipped and up date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccinations. Her $490 adoption fee includes her interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the midwest after she is officially adopted. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! If you are interested in MACK or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. Introducing MACK! He is very sweet and devoted to those he loves. He’s also extremely well behaved in the home, completely house and crate trained. Even though MACK is really just a baby himself, approximately a year old, he isn't at all destructive. He wants so much to really truly belong to someone, and he will give them all the love and loyalty in the world in return. He is a cautious boy, it takes him a minute to warm up to new people and situations, but he handles his fear well and is getting better all the time. He’s great with other dogs and his confidence soars when with them. Therefore he can only go to a house that has at least one other dog. He is currently in his home with his foster mom who just adores him. She says he’s perfectly behaved with her dogs and is an absolute joy. All he needs is a little love, patience and a family to adore and trust for a lifetime. Meet Poppy, a happy people loving bundle of energy. At 9 months old and 45 lbs this lab mix knows basic commands and learns quickly. Poppy is a curious, smart girl who loves to cuddle and be near you. She is potty trained and working on crate training. This youngster is initially unsure of other dogs and will need slow intros until she gains more confidence. She loves to run and play and do the zoomies! Poppy is very food motivated so treats come in very handy with training. If you are looking for a young active dog to be your best friend please apply for Poppy!
