Story
Aftershock is a big goofy boy looking to be loved. Weighing in around 55 lbs he is not what most would consider a lap dog but that would never stop him when he wants to cuddle. He will be your 2nd shadow & will follow you around just happy to be around you. He has been around cats but can be a bit much for even the most patient cats. He does well with other dogs both big & small & would do well with another patient dog. He doesn't always understand his large size & has a loud & deep bark to match. These two things could combined could be overwhelming for young children or anyone that might not be confident around large dogs. He goes into a kennel with little to no issue. He does bark while in the kennel but eventually settles down. He rarely if ever has an accident but he does eat & drink like a horse so, he will need to be taken out consistently. He would also do well with daily activity as he has a moderate energy level, walks or a fenced in yard to run in & stretch his gangly legs.DATCP# 483538

Story
Hi, I'm Icey! My given name is Ice, but my foster family likes to call me Icey. Don't let my name fool you - once I get to know you, I will show off my warm & loving personality. I'm currently being fostered with my brother, Axel, & we're both looking for our forever homes. I might be the shyer one between the two of us, but I'm truly a bundle of love & playfulness. I'm all about giving sweet puppy kisses & having a blast with my toys. Playtime is my favorite time! I'm an energetic & lively pup who enjoys every moment of play. You can usually find me chasing after balls, exploring the backyard, &, of course, cuddling up for some quality snuggle time. I play hard & nap hard... I'm working on my potty training, & I'm proud to say I haven't had any accidents in the house. I'm also a pro when it comes to bedtime. I sleep through the night in my kennel, making it easy for everyone in the household to get their beauty sleep.I'm ready to bring lots of love, fun, & cuddles into my forever family's life. If you're looking for a playful, sweet, & loving puppy, I just might be the one for you. I love other dogs, cats, & most kids as long as they don't chase me!DATCP# 483538

Story
Hey there, I’m Axel! I’ve got quite the tail wagging story to share! I was left to fend for myself in the scorching desert with my 2 sibs when we were just tiny pups. Thankfully, we’ve all been given a second chance at life & I’m ready to find my forever home! I was born 5/29/2023 & come with a special feature - my incredibly large ears, which help me fly through life. Cuddles are my jam! I’ll keep you warm & cozy throughout the winter 🙂I love other dogs, so if you have a playful pup at home, I’m sure I would be their bff. Cats are cool too - I pretty much ignore them because they don’t play with me. I haven’t met any kids, but I think I’d love them if they play with me!I’m still learning about life, & some things are still scary, but overall I’m a happy go lucky guy. I’m working on potty training… when you gotta go you gotta go!DATCP# 483538

If you are interested in BEAR or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam1.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. BEAR is a handsome boy with the sweetest disposition and most gentle, loving heart ever! He adores other dogs from tiny to giant and currently shares his foster home with one older dog. BEAR has a huge supply of love which he happily shares with humans and pups alike. He has truly never met a stranger and absolutely thrives off of making those around him happy. BEAR isn't just all good looks though, he is also an intelligent fellow. He learned the routine in his foster home lightning fast. In a matter of a few short days, it was like he had always lived there. This boy is full of character and his goofy self will bring so much light into his new family’s life. He makes his foster family laugh every day, especially with his choices of places to sleep. BEAR loves to play with all of his toys, but his favorite games are fetch and tug. He also truly enjoys his walks. He is a perfect gentleman during car rides and would make an excellent partner for all of life’s adventures. BEAR is confident and happy in new situations, making it easy to take him everywhere. He has nice house manners and does fabulously in his crate when his foster family is not at home. Welcome BEAR into your family and he will surely show you his gratitude every day for years to come. His $540 adoption fee covers his interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the midwest. For an adoption application on BEAR click here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam1.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Story
Introducing Delilah! Delilah is an adorable Labrador Retriever mix. Unfortunately humans were not kind to her up until she was rescued. Because of this she is nervous around new people and needs a little time to trust. However, after you win her over with a few treats and patience this girl is so so sweet and affectionate and just wants to please! She gets along terrific with her foster siblings. She's extremely food motivated which is helping with potty training and she's working hard at crate training! Due to her nervous nature a home without small children would be ideal. You can also watch for stories, pictures and videos about Delilah on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/40103261297/ Ask to meet her today!!Adoption fee: Check back soon! All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. Updated: 12/01/2023 Dog Name: Paula Sex: Female Estimated Breed Mix: Labrador Retriever/ Mix Approximate Age: 5 months Approximate Weight: 25 lbs. Description: Paula here. I am a happy girl and being approximately 6 months old, I still have a puppy brain sometime. But, I am a pretty quick learner and try to do good. I really really like it when I am told I am a good girl. It makes me so happy. I love people and other dogs, however, cats are a no. I am crate trained and housebroken. I love to play with squeeky toys and bones and ropes. I especially love when that red dot shows up and moves across the floor. Even though I am really good at chasing it, I never seem to be able to catch it. I am never going to stop trying though. Maybe someday. I enjoy going outside and going for walks. There are so many things to see and oh so many smells. I wish I could run free and also play with another doggie friend. I am inquisitive and observant. When I am not playing or going for walks or looking out the window, I'll curl up on the couch and nap. If you are there, I will snuggle up with you. Oh yea, almost forgot, when it is time to eat, I sit and wait to be fed. Then I chow down. I take treats nicely. I would really like to meet you and be a part of your family. Adoption Fee: $475.00We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered at one of our preferred clinics. This will be determined by your contract along with the month they should have their surgery. This is included in your adoption fee. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as PENDING, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT .
