Story
Hi I'm Cheerio! I love you already! Actually I love everybody! I found myself in the shelter because I went out looking for more friends and I got lost. The shelter said I was a lab mix about 45 lbs. And be jealous ladies, I have this beautiful permanent eye liner that make my eyes so big and pretty! My foster mom says I've got the beauty and the brains! I'm perfectly potty trained and crate trained. I have already learned how to sit in just a 2 days. I need more practice on walking on the leash but we will work on that soon. I also REALLY love food, which is good for training because I am extra motivated but sometimes I try to take it off the counter when I'm not supposed to. I'm working on that too. Cheerio does great with dogs of all sizes but she does not like to share her food and needs to be fed separately. She would do best in a home with no small children just because she gets excited and could knock them down. Older children that she could run around with would be great for her! She loves to run and play and she loves lounging in the kiddie pool during the warmer weather. Cheerio is available for adoption with Saving Grace Dog Rescue of San Antonio. The adoption fee is $395.00 with transport. An adoption application and adoption contract are all required. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations appropriate for their age, microchipped, and wormed for internal and external parasites. If you would like more information or an adoption application, please email us at sgdrsa@outlook.com. Please note that visual breed identification in rescue dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only GUESSING at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Check out our Facebook page and YouTube channel for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs!  Updated: 1/05/2024 Dog Name: Bruno Sex: Male Estimated Breed Mix: Labrador Retriever/ Mix Approximate Age: 10-11 Months Approximate Weight: 40 lbs. Description: Bruno is a sweetheart, he loves attention and will lay at your feet. He just loves his people and is very playful and fun! Help Bruno find a WI home!       Adoption Fee: $475.00We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered at one of our preferred clinics. This will be determined by your contract along with the month they should have their surgery. This is included in your adoption fee. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as PENDING, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. February 24, 2024, 6:45 pm

Story
Rowena is a very sweet and loving 7 year old girl. She gets along wonderfully with children of all ages and with cats. We’re looking for a new home for her without any other dogs in the home, or close neighbors with other dogs. She’s a low/medium energy dog - likes walks but not big on fetch. Someone who will be patient with her as she’s shown a bit of anxiety here & there. She has never shown any aggression toward humans but I want to be very transparent in sharing that she is very reactive to other dogs and attacked two dogs in the past. I believe this may have been a territorial thing. This has been a very difficult decision as we love this sweet pup, but now that we live in an area with so many young kids and dogs close by, we’ve found it is no longer a good fit. When we adopted her, this information was not disclosed at all so in sharing the above, we hope to find her a better fit in another loving home.

Story
Tank! Tank is a 5 year old Lab mix. This lengthy man is real confused lately, over the last year having had multiple homes. Tank's looking for a place to settle down. *Housetrained *Crate trained *Good with dogs *Curious of cats Tank is a big boy who tends to lead feet first and so he would do best in a home with older children. Playful, this boy loves fetch and playing with the hose outside (a big fan of water.) Interested in meeting Tank? Open Hours Tuesdays and Thursdays Noon to 7pm Saturdays Noon to 4pm

Story
Puppies are magnificent! I am cute, rambunctious, lively and fun. I have so much to learn, discover and explore - just a tiny sponge who is ready to absorb everything you have to teach me and show me. I am counting on you to help me safely navigate the world and experience new things each day to allow me to grow into a confident young dog. That isn't as exotic and daunting a task as it might sound. Each day I just need to be introduced to one new thing like the sound of a vacuum, a blender or a door bell, walking up and down a step, a ride in a car, hearing a motorcycle or a truck, going somewhere to see new people, even maneuvering a fallen log on a walk. You get the idea, so many things that seem common to you are completely new to me. Speaking of growing, I may be tiny now but I do plan on getting bigger so I would love to take obedience classes to learn proper manners and social skills. I also know I have to practice something called house-training so I know proper potty behavior. A routine and lots of yummy treats and praise will go a long way to helping me master house-training when I potty outside. Puppies and dogs need love, exercise, mental stimulation and consistency to be healthy, happy and confident. I am typically very open to all sorts of housemates; I can be a bit mischievous and may find any other critter as a potential playmate so they will need to understand that about me. I often explore the world with my mouth and while I am teething I like to chew; my little puppy teeth are very sharp so if I am around children we should always be supervised. It is important that children learn about respecting me, too, and treat me gently because I am fragile. Raising a puppy is a big responsibility, a lot of work, and it may interrupt your sleep cycle for a bit, but a courteous and well-behaved dog is certainly worth the investment and I promise to be loyal, love you unconditionally and be a companion forever. I just know I will bring joy and laughter into your home and cannot wait to meet you. Let the adventures begin!
