A committed home is required for him to make the trip, and we’re hopeful the right person is out there. Meet Winky Winky is a 4-month-old Lab mix who is a wonderful little puppy with a surprisingly calm and gentle personality. Winky came into the shelter as a supposed stray after reportedly staying at someone’s home for a few weeks. Winky is your typical playful, happy puppy, but he is also very low-key for his age. He isn’t obnoxious, doesn’t bark a lot, and is not overly messy in his kennel. He already knows how to sit and is incredibly gentle when taking treats, which is pretty impressive for a puppy! Winky is sweet, playful, and enjoys being around other dogs. He is still a puppy and will need all the usual puppy training, supervision, and patience, but he is already showing that he has a great foundation to build on. At only 17 pounds right now, Winky is a small, compact puppy and should be a fun size for an active family. His history with cats is unknown, but he is good with kids and other dogs. Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents.2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email.3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit.4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have.6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option.
