Story
Crissy’s journey started on the side of a rural Texas road, abandoned and alone with her sister. But now? Her story is finally turning around—right here in Wisconsin. She’s gone from shelter bars to wide-open fields and is thriving in her foster home. Crissy lives on a farm, where she’s respectful of horses and chickens, adores the kiddos, and gets along wonderfully with the resident Pyrenees. She even went camping and loved every second of it—this girl’s ready for adventure, as long as it ends with snuggles. Still just a pup, Crissy is that perfect mix of playful and calm. She enjoys exploring, playing with her people, and curling up close when it’s time to wind down. She’s already crate trained, fully potty trained, and has the sweetest, most eager-to-please personality. Crissy is ready for a forever home full of love, patience, and gentle guidance. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick with a heart of gold, Crissy’s your girl. FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

Meet Delilah Delilah is an approximately 5-month-old puppy weighing about 30 lbs and is one of three female siblings who were dumped on an elderly couple and kept outdoors until a recent winter storm. The couple was going to take them to the vet to be euthanized, but our rescue partners stepped in just in time to bring the girls to safety. Delilah is very smart and doing great in foster care. She already knows sit, walks well on leash for a puppy, and is doing well with potty training using puppy pads and learning to go outside. She is sweet, gentle, and eager to please. Delilah would do well in a home ready to continue her training and give her the love and stability every puppy deserves. Explore our adoptable animals and find your perfect match today! For the latest updates on the mutts, follow us on Facebook: @muttlifewi Visit our website: Muttlife.org __________ Love Has Arrived in Wisconsin and Is Settling In Love came to Mutt Life Dog Rescue from a high-risk shelter in Arkansas, where she spent nearly her entire puppyhood after arriving at just five weeks old. As part of the Packer Litter of five, Love waited months for her chance to leave the shelter behind. She has now safely arrived in Wisconsin and is settling in beautifully at her foster home. Meet Love Love is a tricolor pup with a heart as big as her name. Her breed is a Lab mix (best guess), as two of her siblings look very Lab-like, but they all have different unique coloring. She is approximately seven months old and weighs around 35–40 pounds. Despite her rough beginning, Love is sweet, friendly, and incredibly affectionate. She is dog friendly and kid friendly. While she has not been cat tested, she is still young and would likely do well with cats with proper introductions. Love is now spayed and is pretty much potty trained. She is doing really well in her foster home and continues to gain confidence every day. Love is a total love bug and would make a wonderful family dog. She has a medium energy level and enjoys playing, but she also knows how to relax. One of her favorite things is cuddling up on the couch with her people after a fun day. Love will benefit from continued work on leash manners and crate training, but she is eager to learn and thrives with patience, consistency, and love. From Foster: Love is doing great. She is cautious with new things but grows more confident every day. She’s a sweetheart who loves to snuggle or simply sit by your side. Very loyal and attentive, she comes when called and even offers a paw sometimes. She listens well to basic commands, does wonderfully with potty training, and does great in her kennel. She also has the cutest habit of gathering all her toys into one little pile. Love at a Glance Age: Approximately 7 months Gender: Female Weight: Approximately 35–40 lbs Breed: Lab mix (best guess) Spayed/Neutered: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Leash Manners: Pretty good, working on it! For the latest updates on the mutts, follow us on Facebook: @muttlifewi Visit our website: Muttlife.org __________ Parker Needs a Foster or Adopter to Secure His Ride to Wisconsin Parker is currently in an Arkansas kill shelter and needs a foster or adopter to help get him out and secure his spot on an upcoming transport to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue. Meet Parker Parker is a 6–7-month-old hound/shepherd mix who was heartbreakingly dumped at a state park by his previous owner. He was found by a passerby driving through the park, and through no fault of his own, ended up in the shelter system. Despite his rough start, Parker is an incredibly sweet, friendly boy. He loves people, does well with other dogs, and has the goofy, playful personality you expect from a young puppy. He is curious, affectionate, and eager to engage with the world around him. Because Parker has not yet had the chance to be in a foster home, he is still learning the basics. He is not yet crate trained or potty trained and is working on leash manners. With a foster or adopter willing to provide patience, structure, and guidance, Parker has all the potential to become an amazing companion. Parker would thrive in a home ready to help a young dog learn what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family.
