Story
My name is Rabun and I’m hoping you pick me to foster- or adopt! I need a FOSTER or an ADOPTER by 4/26, can you help? The shelter here calls me a “Playgroup Rockstar," meaning I am the dog that plays with ALL the dogs here! When new dogs come into the shelter, I come to the rescue to help the people “temperament test” the new ones! I’m a super social butterfly, and I am excellent at teaching the other dogs to loosen up and PLAY! I’m even great at “reading the room” and knowing when other dogs are playful- or if they need some space to decompress first. The people here at the Georgia shelter will miss me but they say I deserve the best home- and that is in WISCONSIN! I had a home before, and they loved me SO much! I had kids to play with, a nice yard, and a family that absolutely adored me. Sadly, someone in the family who lived far away got sick, very sick- and my family needed to go take care of them. It was far away, and it was sudden. They couldn’t find anywhere to move that would allow me to come. I ended up at the shelter from which I came. I was sad, but I understood. My family was sad too... BUT! I am a young, healthy boy with lots of love to give. I love dogs and I love kids! I LOVE the water and would enjoy trips to the lake! I’m even the kid of dog that would LOVE doggie daycare or trips to the dog park! The shelter here in Georgia is getting REALLY full, and I can see the people here are starting to get nervous that I may not get out in time. Can you help me on my journey Homeward Bound? I know it’s last minute- but I promise you won’t regret welcoming me into your life! Love, Rabun FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

Story
Who doesn’t love a lab puppy with sweet eyes? I'm Belle, and boy are you going to love ME! I’m looking for my forever home and I HOPE it can be in Wisconsin! I hear it’s so much nicer there than in this crowded, loud, scary shelter in Georgia. I need a FOSTER or an ADOPTER to make it to Wisconsin on 4/27, can you help me? I’d sure love to be enjoying the summer with you on the lake instead of the hot concrete cage here in the south. (I also heard your lakes are REALLY GREAT up there!) Help me catch a ride this weekend to safety with Homeward Bound! No puppy deserves to grow up living in a cage! Hey there, humans! I'm Brandy, the waggiest wonder you'll ever meet! At 6-7 months young and 30 pounds of pure puppiness, I'm ready to bring some silliness into your life. They say I'm spayed and ready for my forever home, but honestly, I'm just excited for the endless belly rubs and treats that come with it. Let's talk about my social circle – it's pretty paw-some! I'm a dog's best friend, a cat's curious companion, and a human's loyal sidekick. Currently hanging out at a shelter in Georgia, but I've got big dreams of exploring Wisconsin and maybe even becoming a cheese connoisseur. So, if you're looking for a furry friend who's always up for a game of fetch or a cuddle session, look no further! Brandy's the name, and making you laugh is my game. Let's embark on this tail-wagging adventure together, shall we? Check out our Facebook page and YouTube channel for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs!Updated: 03/09/2024 Litter Name: The J Litter Dog Name: Rooster Sex: Male Estimated Breed Mix: Great Pyrenees / Labrador Retriever Mix Approximate Age: 11 months old Approximate Weight: 50 lbs. Description:  Meet Rooster.  He is an 11 month old, 50 pound, Great Pyrenese/Lab mix.  Bottle fed as a puppy, he has grown very loyal to his people.  He is sure to be one of those dogs that is always by your side.  He doesn't exactly know what personal space is, and likes to jump when he is excited, but he's trying to figure it out.  Rooster is very trainable and treat motivated... he already knows 'sit' 'down' 'shake' 'wait' and is getting very close to 'roll over'.  He likes car rides and going for walks.  Not a huge fan of the crate, but learning to like that as well.  He really would prefer to be right on your lap, rolled up in a ball.  He gets along with kids, cats, and other dogs, but does require some attention, as he can be possessive of his toys, food, and his person.  Because of this, I recommend he be an only dog with children over 12.  If you are looking for a teachable dog to go on adventures with during the day and cuddle at night...Rooster is the dog for you!   Adoption Fee: $475.00We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered at one of our preferred clinics. This will be determined by your contract along with the month they should have their surgery. This is included in your adoption fee. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as PENDING, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. April 25, 2024, 10:37 pm
