Story
Meet Mazzy! Hey everybody, my name is Mazzy, and I'm the most special gal! I'm a young adult now, and I've found myself looking for my forever home. You might notice that I have a lot of extra skin, and that makes me extra beautiful! It also might add a pound or two to my 47-pound frame because pictures make me look a little lighter than I actually am. Let me tell you, that extra skin can tear a little bit easier than a normal dog's skin because I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, but it doesn't affect my joints one bit, so I don’t have to take any meds for it. I just need to make sure I don't play too rough with my fur friends, that's all! I get along well with other dogs of all sizes, but the calmer, the better, so they don't jump on me or scratch me. I do really well with all the humans I've met, but men are more scary to me, so they just need to be patient with me and show me they're safe. I do fabulously with children of all ages, and really enjoy being around them! I'm a bit timid, but I will also alert you to any strange noises I hear or of new people coming into the home, so I might not do super great with living in an apartment building where there might be a lot of extra noise. I go potty outside, and I really enjoy going on walks, and I do quite well, though why do some of those trucks need to be so big and loud? I'm not sure how well I would do with kitties since I think it's fun to chase squirrels and bunnies in the yard! Foster mom says I would really benefit from some training as I'm still a young lady, and I'm so, so smart! I've never really been taught some of the basic things in life, so having someone to take the time to show me how to be a proper lady would be so great for me! I'm really good at taking a toy and keeping myself occupied! I promise to make you laugh with my silly antics and zoomies I get. Now I'm ready for my ride or die bestie to go hiking by day and snuggling by night with! I sure how you see how perfect I am! *Mazzy is being fostered in Edgerton, WI. Story
Meet Marilyn! My name is Marilyn and I am a sweet, mellow 60-lb senior lab mix that loves attention and affection! I’m happy to be as close to my people as possible and am happiest curled up next to them on the couch. I am currently living with multiple large dogs and am cat friendly and while I don’t currently live with children, it’s believed I would be family friendly due to my gentle demeanor. Yep, that means I can live with kiddos too! I have great house manners and potty outside. I roam freely in my foster home, but also enjoy relaxing in my crate. I’m happy to join you on a walk or for a car ride, I’m just happy when we are together! While I am in good health, my back legs do shake often. Have no fear, I’m neither scared nor in pain. I was underweight when I was rescued but have gained some pounds and am now working on maintaining a healthy size. While I am dog friendly, I would suggest a slow introduction so I can really feel a new pup out. I am low energy and appreciate another pup who is my same speed/energy level. I’m so excited about finding a family that makes me feel safe and loved. If you are ready for cuddles and affection from a calm, gentle pup then look no further than me! *Marilyn is being fostered in Menomonee Falls, WI. Story
Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care. Meet Jack, a dog taken in by a veterinarian after his family requested euthanasia for simply being undersocialized. Purchased from a breed who was not reputable or operating with care, this sweet boy needed more than he was offered. He is just over a year old. He is a neutered male, current on vaccinations, HWT and HW and F/T prevention. He weighs 40#. It is very important that his new home have another dog. One that is confident and well-trained, active and a bit assertive would be perfect. It is important for the new owners to know that Jack comes with some emotional baggage and will need time and patience, and he may never be a socially "normal" dog. He can be very reserved around new (and sometimes old) people. He truly has made amazing strides since we've fostered him, and I think in the right hands, he will continue to become more confident and will thrive in the right home. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250. Story
11.5 months old (estimated) Neutered male 54 lbs. Energetic and playful Does not seem to like other dogs No known experience with cats, or children House trained Hi, I’m Ghirardelli, a friendly and active young boy! I’m still just a puppy, so I’ll need some training and guidance to become the well-mannered family member I strive to be. The good news is that I’m already potty trained and very treat motivated, so training should be a breeze! I love to play fetch and adore my stuffed toys. Long walks are my favorite, and I’d be thrilled to join an active and outdoorsy family. Let’s explore the world together! The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.July 25, 2024, 6:10 pm
