Story
Meet Duke! A two year old Mastiff mix that is looking for his forever family. In the home he is house broken, crate trained, and loves to be with his humans. As an XL breed dog, he could still use some reinforcement of basic manners. He's very strong on leash and tends to jump and get a little mouthy when he plays or gets excited. A family with large breed experience that is willing to invest some time and energy into basic training would be ideal. Another requirement would be no children under 10. Outside the home, Duke is a tad insecure and can be slightly reactive to new dogs. After a quick introduction, however, he does great (especially with female dogs). He can, however, tend to get too excited and possessive over toys so a family that can maintain boundaries in their home would be required. As for cats... this big boy LOVES them and would have no problem sharing his space with a dog savvy feline. If you are interested in Duke please fill out an adoption application at: https://www.dogsaredeservingrescue.com/adoptable-dogs/adoption-application/November 12, 2025, 1:26 pm

Story
Meet Nyla! She is a sweet, shy, gentle girl who survived a very rough start. Nyla came from a severely neglected litter and was rescued malnourished, scared, and very weak. Today she is calm, intelligent, and loving once she feels safe. She softly licks your hand, enjoys head scratches, and gets along well with other dogs. She loves to sniff and explore and would thrive with a family who enjoys walks or outdoor time. Because of early food scarcity, she may show light resource guarding (only gentle growls). She can also jump a 4-ft fence, so she must be on leash outdoors unless in a secure dog park or designated off-leash area. Nyla is not high energy but needs more attention, structure, and exercise than my parents can provide. She is still growing and has so much potential. Requirements: reference check, vet verification, and home check. Nyla deserves a patient, loving forever home.

Story
Hi, I’m Scoobert! (Yes, like Scooby… but fancier.) I’m a 10-to-11-month-old Mastiff mix, currently weighing about 55 pounds of pure joy. Seriously — I’m just a big ol’ bouncy ball of happiness with a tail that never stops wagging. One of the amazing Wags volunteers met me up north at a shelter and said, “That’s the one!” Why? Because I was so friendly, so wiggly, and so excited to meet everyone — dogs, people, probably squirrels (still pending testing). She said I radiated joy. (Her words, not mine… but I agree!) I love to play with other dogs, and I’ve been around respectful kiddos too — I did great! I’m still a puppy at heart and in age, so I’ll need a home ready to help me learn things like potty training, leash manners, and that jumping up for kisses might not always be appreciated (even if I think it should be). But if you’re looking for a sweet, goofy, lovable companion who’s always down for playtime, snuggles, and good vibes — I’m your guy. Let’s make this official. Adopt me, and let the good times Scoobertgin! Let’s make this official. Adopt me, and let the good times Scoobertgin! ? Kid meets welcome Dog meets welcome Please note: We do not have cats at Wags and cannot test dogs for cat friendliness. Unless a dog is currently in foster with cats or has a known history of living with them, the “cat-friendly” box will be marked no or unknown. If it’s not marked yes, we do not know. Apply online and watch your email for Wags communication!

Story
Hi, All Mac, here short for Mac truck lol. If you love big goofy dogs, I'm your guy. I am 100 lbs. of cuddle bug. I really don't think I am as big as they say I am because I would prefer to just be a couch Potatoe and lay next to my people and chew on a bone. I am a people kind of guy and love everyone I meet. I can probably live with another dog, but he would have to be calmer like me. but little dogs and very young children I would be afraid of because I am clumsy and wouldn't want to hurt them. I definitely don't think I could handle cats. But I know a lot of commands they say I am really smart and a fast learner. I am potty trained but do not like cages. I am strong on a leash so I would need a strong owner. Fill out an app here. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdsHBf5NUtvyBYpzWm6Z5Z0JosLBTsDC98oxPTfxtM9brrc7Q/viewform

Story
Hi, I’m Beth and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family.  This is what they know about me so far.   Dog’s Name: Beth Location: Plano, Il. Date of Birth: 02/14/2021 Gender: Female Breed:  Mastiff Color: Brindle Dog's Weight: 140 Gets along with: Dogs?: All dogs Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: Kids over 8 Training: Leash trained: We're working on it Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Potty Trained: Indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents Car: Rides well in car Has good recall Meet Beth – The Goofy, Gentle Giant! Beth is a stunning brindle Mastiff with a heart as big as her paws!  Beth’s journey to us began after a devastating house fire left her former family without a place where dogs were allowed. Recently having had puppies and surrendered at a shelter, Beth has shown nothing but grace, sweetness, and an eagerness to love. Beth is the definition of a people-pleaser. She adores being petted, leans in for affection, and takes her nap schedule very seriously. At roughly 140 lbs, she doesn’t quite realize her size yet, but she’s learning quickly that sitting next to you is just as good as sitting on you. When she’s excited, she taps her feet in a happy little dance that is sure to win your heart. She is potty trained, crate trained at night, and behaves beautifully when left out—no chewing, no mischief, just naps and gentle curiosity. Beth has no aggression whatsoever and gets along well with other dogs. She enjoys cuddling with toys but won’t destroy them, making her a wonderfully easy companion. Her compatibility with cats is unknown, and due to her size and tendency to lean into affection, she would do best with older children. Beth would be a wonderful match for a first-time giant breed owner—she’s gentle, forgiving, and eager to please. She doesn’t require a fenced yard and would thrive in a home that offers plenty of couch time, cuddles, and companionship. She’ll fit in beautifully as an only dog or as part of a multi-dog household. If you’re looking for a sweet, soothing, oversized best friend who will dance for joy when you walk into the room, Beth may just be the perfect addition to your family.
