Meet Marvin
Marvin is settling in beautifully and showing more of his sweet, loving personality every day. He enjoys being close to his person and thrives on connection, making him a loyal companion who just wants to be part of your world.
He walks well on a leash and has been calm and non-reactive to people passing by, even those jogging. In fact, Marvin enjoys picking up the pace and could make a great running partner! He also rides wonderfully in the car and recently charmed everyone at the vet with his friendly, easygoing nature.
Marvin is cat friendly and showing promising signs with other dogs. He has been able to calmly observe and interact through gates and is improving with exposure, though slow, structured introductions will be important as he continues to learn appropriate behaviors. He is also still working through some mounting behaviors, which will benefit from continued training and guidance.
Children seem new to Marvin, and while he is not aggressive, he can be unsure. He tends to observe and assess rather than react, especially outside of confined spaces. Because of this, he may do best in a home with older children or one that can help build his confidence at a comfortable pace.
Marvin loves to play fetch and is beginning to engage with toys like ropes. While he doesn’t yet have formal obedience training, he is already learning commands like sit, lay, and down, and is picking things up quickly. With consistency and structure, he has all the potential to become a very well-mannered companion.
Due to his size and strength, Marvin would do best with an experienced giant breed owner who can provide ongoing training, structure, and guidance. He may do well with other pets and older children with proper introductions, and while a fenced yard is not required, regular exercise and continued training are essential.
Marvin is a loving, eager-to-learn dog with so much potential. With the right home, patience, and commitment, he will grow into an incredible, loyal companion.
