Meet Shadow — At 9 years old and just 11 pounds, Shadow is the perfect little apricot-colored package of sweetness, companionship, and personality. And her name says it all — she was quite literally her beloved owner’s Shadow.
Shadow adored her person and was happiest simply being close to him. Sadly, her owner passed away, and this sweet little girl is now looking for a new person to follow around, curl up beside, and love with all her heart.
Shadow is a people-friendly, affectionate little companion who enjoys being near her humans without being overly demanding. She loves a good lap, a cozy spot on the furniture, and sleeping close to her person.
She also has a playful side! Shadow loves playtime and enjoys a short walk or some fun with her people. She rides nicely in the car, is fully potty trained, and knows that when nature calls, she should let you know by asking to go outside.
Shadow does well around other dogs and has no issues simply hanging out with other dogs around toys, and she has no food-guarding issues. Because she was an only dog she is used to having all the toys to herself so she can be a little protective of a toy if another dog is trying to fetch that exact same toy
This little lady does have a few special routines that help keep her happy and healthy. She does best with wet food mixed with kibble twice a day, and treats can upset her tummy, so her people will need to resist those puppy-dog eyes! She also needs regular grooming and a little daily face cleaning to keep her beautiful apricot coat looking its best.
Shadow may have a touch of separation anxiety (or maybe she is just missing her owner), so she would love a home where someone has plenty of time to spend with her. She isn't looking for a home where she's expected to entertain herself alone for long stretches of time. She's looking for a person or family who enjoys having a little four-legged companion close by.
And yes... Shadow is absolutely a furniture-and-bed kind of girl. If your philosophy is “Dogs belong on the couch and under the covers,” she's going to fit right in.
