Story
Meet Millie, she is about 6yrs old and 42 pounds of sweetness.  Her foster says she is doing so well and coming out of her little shy girl shell and just blossoming.  From her foster.... she is an incredible sweet and good girl. Going to be tough letting her go. She has completely come out of her shell, so cute.   She's not exactly great at sit or down but has picked up sit pretty well just today. She is very chill and I haven't seen her playful side yet. She was absolutely loved. I feel.like the luckiest foster dad ever.  To meet Millie put in an application at eapl.com Her adoption fee is $375 October 3, 2024, 5:25 pm

Story
Cosmo is a 3.5MO pup weighing about 14lbs.  We are guessing he is will be about 20-30lbs full grown.  Cosmo looks like a AussieDoodle with poodle-like hair and beautiful aussie coloring.  It's hard to believe but his Momma is Meringue who is also available for adoption.  She is only 10lbs and she seems to be a little Terrier, maybe poodle mix.  We don't know Cosmo's actual breed since we don't know their history but we do know that someone Momma Meringue ended up having these micro-aussiedoodle looking puppies.  They are SO cute and unique.   Cosmo and his sibling are absolutely wonderful dogs.  They get along great with other dogs and all people.  They LOVE to play and romp around - true to aussie/poodle pups.  They are also incredibly affectionate and loving and Cosmo LOVES to snuggle.  They would do best in a home with another dog to play with or an active person who can take them on lots of outings and adventures, but will also be up for some snuggle days and lots of love.   If you are interested in adopting Cosmo or one of his siblings, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2184047##

Story
UPDATE 4-21-24: Check out Remy's new video on our SummitDogRescue.org website! https://www.summitdogrescue.org/meet-remy.html - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Meet Remy! He is, according to his DNA, a mix of Poodle, Chihuahua, Pomeranian, Pekingese, Papillion and Rat Terrier (with maybe a touch of American Eskimo). Chihuahua and Poodle are his dominant breeds (over 25% each), and then the others are splattered in there. Despite his size, he would love an active lifestyle. This adorable little guy needs a patient, loving and calm home in order to live his best life! We suspect he was abused at some level as he has some trauma around being handled. He was adopted out but is being returned due to his handling issues, and he just isn't a right fit for his current home. Remy did great living with multiple dogs in his foster home and seems to really like dogs. He has lived with a cat and did okay, but it should be a fairly confident cat. Remy is 16 lbs. of cuteness. He's young, neutered and up to date on his vaccines. We suspect that his time before coming to rescue was not so great... He's easily startled by quick hand movements and will need people who are very conscious when petting him. He'll need a special adopter to go slowly and continue to help him feel safe. We think he'd love a quieter house, maybe with a dog or dog-savvy kitty who can hang out with him and help him learn that life is good, and that no one is going to hurt him ever again, nor will anyone force him to do anything. He doesn't like being picked up, and he doesn't feel comfortable at the veterinarian. This will take time, commitment and giving him confidence (please Google "cooperative care" to learn more). All that being said, despite being low in confidence, Remy loves being outside and going on sniff walks and exploring trails. We actually think this little guy would love to live in a rural setting and just run free on a farm, hiking and exploring trails, chasing squirrels, etc. but he could do well in suburbia with a large yard! Applicants will need to work with our behavior team to learn how to work with him and help him gain confidence (his human needs to be very open to learning!). This is included in his adoption fee of $125. For more info and/or to apply to adopt Remy, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you as soon as they can. Thanks.

Story
Available to the right adopter, who is willing to continue with her training. Dawn is a precious Maltipoo that is currently being fostered with one of our dog trainers that specializes and rehabilitates timid, shy and scared dogs. She is guessed to be 6-9 years old. She is absolutely adorable and her eyes will melt your heart! Her foster mom thinks she would do better in a quiet home with adults or older children to work with her. Another confident dog could be helpful, but not necessary. Her foster mom has an amazing rehabilitation protocol to help these scared dogs and is working with her on potty training, socializing with dogs and humans, leash training, kennel training, doggie door training and if time permits, even car training. She also has an amazing group of volunteers that meet twice a week to help socialize all the scared foster dogs in her care. There are lots of other dogs at her foster moms house so we know she is dog friendly. Her foster doesn't have any cats but thinks she would be fine with them if introduced slowly and properly. She will need an adopter, who will give her love and patience. Please consider this adorable girl as a part of your family. She deserves all the kindness and will give you a lifetime of affection. The shy dogs become the most loyal dogs, who adore their humans. Her foster mom is located in Fort Collins Colorado and wants to find a patient adopter, who is willing to help her continue gaining confidence either with in person, or virtual training session(s) This training is NOT basic obedience, but instead, is designed for rescue dogs and teaches the adopter how to work to build the dogs confidence and overcome any trauma the dog may have experienced. This training will help the family and this sweet girl adjust to their new life together quicker. She will provide a discount on training. The amount of training needed (it generally takes 1-2 sessions) will depend on the knowledge and experience of the adopter and how far along the dog is in the rehabilitation training at the time of adoption.

Story
Candy is a 12lb Maltese Miniature Poodle mix and she is approximately two years old. She can be a bit shy at first but warms up and relaxes in your arms. She is ready to give you the companionship you want in exchange for some serious cuddle time. Candy is being fostered in NE Denver. In her foster home, she is with cats, dogs, and kids. Candy is most confident when she is in a small yard with other dogs and people close by. She did get nervous when we tried to talk her on a walk with a leash. The big city noises (especially loud motorcycles) can be very scary to Candy. So a controlled environment will be best for Candy in the beginning. In the right home, she will build her confidence quickly. She likes being with humans and makes a lot of eye contact. She likes to come up for scritches. She loves being held. Her confidence has grown over the week she has been in foster.
