Story
Penelope is a 12(ish) year old, Miniature Poodle weighing about 10lbs.   Penelope came to us after her owner had to surrender her because she was going into a nursing home.  Penelope is a sweet, sweet girl.  She gets along well with other dogs and cats and absolutely loves to snuggle.  She is good on a leash and just wanted to be loved.  She is a mellow girl but would also like daily strolls and socialization, just like any dog.  Her main "want" is to have someone to snuggle with, love her, and be her true forever human. If you are interested in adopting Penelope, please fill out our adoption applciation at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2020954##

Story
When Beau's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the gorgeous (and extremely dirty and matted) Beau tucked tightly into a cage...his time was up. Farfel's immediately got a call describing how beautiful (inside and out) and sweet this Poodle / Wheaten Terrier is and the need to save his life. We immediately agreed and Beau became a treasured Farfel's dog. He earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with his great temperament that held every possibility for a great future. Beau is just about 8 years young (such a great age..old enough to be very calm and past any babyish behaviors and young enough to have many healthy, happy years remaining). Beau weighs approximately 24 pounds of cottony-soft cuteness. This is a perfect size for long walks on gorgeous Colorado trails or neighborhood strolls for fun and socialization. And then at day's end Beau will be perfect for a couch or bed companion all night long. Beau is such a devoted and smart little guy. Since he's been in his foster home, he is a much more relaxed and confident dog. He is literally blossoming! Initially this poor little guy was so frightened due to all the changes in his life but with patience and love, he's truly coming out of his shell!. Beau has made progress each and every day with his wonderful foster and has become a much more well-adjusted dog who is open to loving new relationships and fun adventures. Beau has been diagnosed with cataracts that have resulted in partial to complete blindness. We're not certain how much our sweet guy can see, but we do know that he has no idea he has a disability. He's a happy and sweet as can be guy that loves life and all the adventures it holds. There are now excellent surgeries available to give dogs like Beau their vision back. Farfel's has looked into this surgery over the years for several of our rescue dogs and all are now happily living a life with the gift of vision. This is our prayer for Beau as well and we're happy to do a Go Fund Me to help as best we can with the cost. Beau loves his walks where he can socialize with dog-loving neighbors and their pets. He is such a fun and silly guy that we hope his new family will choose to spend lots of time enjoying his antics. Every day when Beau's foster mom comes home from errands, she's greeted by a very joyous and loving Beau giving happy kisses and dancing a jig of joy. Farfel's Rescue has made the decision that we'd like to see Beau in a home with loving and devoted retirees that spends lots of time at home..or enjoy taking their furry best friend along. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a great choice for this people-loving guy. Beau is also a perfect take-along sized guy so it's easy to just scoop him up and snuggle him under your arm. Beau likes the car and is very happy strapped into his car seat to safely enjoy the ride. Beau is at his absolute best with adults. He's much more comfortable with the quiet energy that they bring to a home. A walk followed by time on the couch or bed snuggling with his favorite people would speak to this little dog. He would be overjoyed to be part of a family of lower energy folks. It would match his own energy level and he would be a great match for that family. Beau is unknown with cats. He's compatible, however, with like-sized dogs with similar energy levels to his own. Beau doesn't require a doggy friend to be happy. If his family is attentive and enjoys spending time with their dog, they're perfect for the wonderful Beau, If our sweet guy is adopted as an only dog with a family that will shower full-time love and pampering on him. He will return that love and kindness a million times over as he falls more and more in love with his brand new family. Beau is a non- shedding guy (and considered to be one of the most hypoallergenic breed mixes available today). He will therefore require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming (approximately every 8 - 10 weeks) and excellent nutrition. A daily salmon oil supplement coupled with 5 star food is a great regimen to keep his cottony-soft coat healthy and matte-free. Beau will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 5/10/2024. If interested in this gorgeous and very cuddly, loyal and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE**. If you're truly interested in adopting Beau, please be sure to submit the Farfel's Rescue adoption application that can be found at the link above or at farfels.com. Rescue site applications such as Petfinder,or Adoptapet don't provide enough information for us to determine a great match and therefore aren't useful. We're sorry, but in many circumstances, we're unable to get back to those those that don't submit a Farfel's adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue!

Story
Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogIf you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Toyota, and I am a Maltipoo boy who was born 7/15/16, and I weigh 7 pounds. I have been shaved for hygiene, but my hair will grow back, and I will be beautiful. I need aa quiet home and I would love a sibling to play with and learn from. If you have been waiting for a beautiful Maltipoo, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, Toyota 031823-34  April 29, 2024, 9:28 pm

Story
Casper is a 4 year old Poodle that is a handsome, shy, quiet boy. He is neutered, microchipped and current on shots.  He is a mature adult and is good with other dogs once he gets comfortable. He can be a bit shy and takes a while to warm up to new people and environments, but once he does, he's a very sweet and affectionate boy. Once he gets to know you, he will be a very loyal companion and will stick by your side through thick and thin. He's a quiet and well-mannered dog who would make a great addition to your family.  He would do best in a quiet home where he can feel safe and continue to come out of his shell. He is kennel and doggie door trained, may need some positive help on house training.  He would benefit from an experienced owner who can help him build his confidence.  He has learned from the other dogs how to play with toys and is opening up to the fun. Regular grooming, at least every 3 months, is essential due to the poodle mix to maintain the Casper's coat and overall health. If you think you could give this sweet boy the forever home he's looking for, please inquire at www.FureverdogDenver.com today!  Please fill out an application.  If you have any questions or to meet him, please call or text 720-588-6809. ##2013155##

UPDATE 4-21-24: Check out Remy's new video on our SummitDogRescue.org website! https://www.summitdogrescue.org/meet-remy.html - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Meet Remy! He is, according to his DNA, a mix of Poodle, Chihuahua, Pomeranian, Pekingese and Rat Terrier (with maybe a touch of American Eskimo). Chihuahua and Poodle are his dominant breeds (over 25% each), and then the others are splattered in there. But he's not a toy dog. Despite his size, he would love an active lifestyle in a rural setting. This adorable little guy needs a patient, loving and calm home in order to live his best life! We suspect he was abused at some level as he has some trauma around being handled. He was adopted out but is being returned due to this handling issues and some conflicts with the resident dog. We are thinking he should be placed with a mellow bigger dog, or no dog at all in the home. His current home has a small male dog and they are just too similar and barky and sometimes have conflicts around resources. In his foster home he did well with a big, sweet female and tolerated a young, wild small dog who was also a female. So we are thinking female dogs might be better for him than males, but hard to know. In a lot of ways, being adopted is like an arranged marriage. This one just isn't working out with him and the resident dog after 7 months. Remy also struggled with being petted by humans, even his own people. If you are open to learning and keeping your hands to yourself this little guy is so amazing and fun to be with. If humans can just not pet him (which makes him very uncomfortable) he is good. He loves to snuggle next to you, but obviously hands make him uncomfortable and they literally need to be removed from the equation or he will continue to fail in his homes. Remy is 13 lbs. of cuteness. He's young, neutered, up to date on his vaccines. We suspect that his time before coming to rescue was not so great... He's easily startled by quick hand movements and he lacks confidence. He'll need a special adopter to go slowly and continue to help him feel safe. We think he'd love a quieter house, maybe with a dog or dog-savvy kitty who can hang out with him and help him learn that life is good, and that no one is going to hurt him ever again, nor will anyone force him to do anything. He doesn't like being picked up, and he doesn't feel comfortable at the veterinarian. This will take time, commitment and giving him confidence (please Google "cooperative care" to learn more). All that being said, despite being low in confidence, Remy loves being outside and going on sniff walks and exploring trails. We actually think this little guy would love to live in a rural setting and just run free on a farm, hiking and exploring trails, chasing squirrels etc. Applicants will need to work with our behavior team to learn how to work with him and help him gain confidence (his human needs to be very open to learning!). This is included in his adoption fee. His adoption fee is $100. For more info and/or to apply to adopt Remy, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you as soon as they can. Thanks.
