Story
Hi there! I’m Asher, a 2-year-old Poodle mix with a heart (and tail) that never stops wagging. Life threw me a curveball recently — I was found on the side of the road in Kansas with a badly broken leg, likely after being hit by a car. My amazing care team made the tough call to amputate, and guess what? I’m thriving! Three legs, endless joy, zero limits.  I’m an excitable, affectionate guy who loves hiking, zooming with my siblings, games of fetch, and plenty of couch cuddles. Bones are my favorite snack, and I adore playing with other dogs. I’d even love to befriend the cats in my foster home (if they’d let me join the club ). Don’t let my three-legged swagger fool you! I’m a parkour master, a real speed racer, I even do great with stairs! I can also be a bit of a chatterbox when I want attention, so apartment living isn’t my ideal setup — I need space for my personality to shine! If you’re looking for a loyal, happy, lovebug of a companion, I’m your guy.  Apply to meet me at eapl.com — I promise, one look into my eyes and you’ll be head over paws for me!  My adoption fee is $375 December 13, 2025, 10:49 am

Story
****PLEASE NOTE; Maisy and Millie are a BONDED PAIR. They are bonded to each other and must be adopted together.**** Meet Maisy & Millie! Maisy and Millie are a bonded pair of sweet, 4-year-old girls believed to be Maltipoos (Maltese/Poodle mixes). While we don’t DNA test our rescue dogs, this is an educated guess based on their appearance and size. Maisy is 8 lbs and Millie is 9 lbs. These two girls were found living on the streets of Houston before ending up in a large, overcrowded, and very scary shelter. When they arrived, both were covered in painful mats, had overgrown nails, and were understandably unsure and frightened by the shelter environment. Once rescued, their painful mats were carefully shaved away so they could finally feel comfortable and start to relax, and they’ve been feeling so much better ever since. Maisy is the more outgoing of the two. Millie is much more timid, though thankfully not nippy or bitey in the slightest. Just scared, but we know that she will learn soon that she is safe finally. Millie finds her comfort and courage by staying close to her sister, Maisy. Because of this deep bond, Maisy and Millie must be adopted together. Both girls are friendly, gentle souls who simply need time and patience to feel safe. They are so so sweet, just so unsure with everything going on right now. We are currently working on getting them out of the shelter and into a foster home where they can finally decompress and begin to relax. Once they feel safe, we’re confident their sweet personalities will continue to shine. Why adopting two can actually be easier than one: Bonded pairs like Maisy and Millie help regulate each other’s emotions. They provide comfort, confidence, and familiarity during transitions, which can actually make the adjustment into a new home smoother. They’re never truly alone, learn routines together, and often experience less anxiety because they have their built-in best friend by their side. Maisy and Millie will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are great choices for hair care and longevity) to keep their coats cottony-soft, matte-free and shining with good health. We would love to see Maisy and Millie in a home with a individual, couple, or active retirees who have the time and heart for a loyal and loving companion. We'd hate to see them left alone all day while their family works full-time outside of the home. A family that works from a home-based office is a great choice for these sweet dogs. Farfel's Rescue would like to see Maisy and MIllie in a home where they'll get consistent mental stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A positive reinforcement / force free training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for these young dogs, whose self-esteems will fly high while they master their skills. Farfel's feels so strongly about a training opportunity for all dogs that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person positive reinforcement/force free trainers in your area. Maisy and Millie are both up to date on their vetting and vaccines, and are both spayed and healthy. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for Maisy and Millie. If interested in this gorgeous pair, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Couscous is the happiest little boy, he's about 8 months old. He gets very attached and is VERY protective. He does not like men initially but gets used to them fast. He would do best in a single person home. We are currently working on some behavior trainina and he is doing very well. He would be great with an adopter that is willing to work through his behaviors. (Mainly just his protectiveness) He is potty trained/crate trained/dog door trained. He gets along with other animals.  Couscous is neutered and up to date on vaccinations plus dewormed.  Located in Delta CO

Story
Meet Peter! Peter is a small, white Mini Schnauzer mix with a lot of personality packed into his little frame. Rescued from the shelter just in time, Peter has been given a second chance at life, and now we’re looking for his perfect forever home. Peter’s ideal adopter is an experienced dog owner who understands that some dogs need a little extra care and patience. Peter has shown some bite tendencies, and while we’re working with a trainer to understand his triggers, it’s important to be mindful of his boundaries. He doesn’t like being picked up and prefers not to be pet unless he comes to you first. When he feels safe and comfortable, Peter can be snuggly and affectionate—but it’s always on his terms. He is good with other dogs, so a canine companion could be a great fit for him. However, because of his biting history, Peter should not be in a home with children. Peter isn’t just a dog—he’s a work in progress who needs someone willing to invest time, patience, and love into helping him thrive. In the right home, Peter’s personality will shine, and he’ll reward you with loyalty and companionship. If you’re the experienced, patient adopter Peter needs, please fill out an application on our website. Peter is waiting for someone to see the good dog he truly is and help him live his best life. Once he warms up, Peter is incredibly affectionate and loyal. He would do best in a quiet household with adults or older children who understand his need for patience and kindness. If you’re looking for a sweet, devoted companion, Peter is ready to meet you and start a new chapter in his life!

Story
Sweet like pie, meet Professor McGonagall. At 12 years old, she was ecstatic to have an adopter lined up at the infamous Apple Valley high kill shelter. But when the adopter never showed up, she was heartbroken. Left on the urgent high kill list, we rescued Professor McGonagall because we believe every dog deserves another chance at finding their forever home. She is a mini poodle mix who loves spending time with you, whether you are going on a stroll or cuddling up with a good book. If you're looking for your next best friend, don't think twice and hit apply to schedule a meet and greet!
