Story
Cooper is the sweetest boy. He is a mini poodle, but looks like a small standard ( about 35 lbs). His personality is a combination of Winnie the Pooh and snuggle bug. We’ve cared for Cooper since he was 9 weeks old. He is 7.5 years old now. Great with kids and other dogs. Not sure about cats; we haven’t socialized him with any. We are willing to wait for a good family to rehome him. He loves spending time with his pack. So being close to his alpha would be a perfect environment for him. He loves to drive shotgun as well lol

Story
Meet Dexter! This absolute doll is a fluffy ball of love and affection. This precious gentleman has spent his entire life being passed around like an old sweater: worn out, tossed aside, rehomed again and again whenever he became “inconvenient.” His most recent stop was only a few short months, through no fault of his own. When Dexter arrived at Miri’s Haven, he was clutching the few squirrel toys he was dropped off with like a child holds a blanket. He was confused, shut down, and painfully thin. Yet when he saw the resident pups, his tail twitched…the smallest spark of “maybe this time will be different.” And it has been. Dexter is thriving in his foster home where he is finally being showered with the love he's deserved along. His personality is shining through: he’s a connoisseur of comfort ~ he loves all the beds and needs approximately seventeen blankets to rearrange until he achieves the perfect snuggle architecture. He gets along beautifully with foster mom’s two cats, loves sniffing all the smells on walks, and has even started to show off his playful side! His favorite toys are the small soft ones that are easy for him to hold in his mouth. After a lifetime of being ignored and neglected, Dexter loves being with his person. He's a top tier snuggler and will happily follow his foster mom from room to room like a tiny loving shadow. He loves being petted, scratches his back by wriggling on the carpet, and bringing his face close to yours while wagging his tail to tell you just how much he loves you. He also has the funniest and most adorable little barks and growls. Dexter would love a home with humans who are home most of the time, love to snuggle with him, and can provide structure and routine. He walks well on the leash but would love a fenced-in yard to explore. He would also love to join a home with at least one other dog to pal around with. He's good in the car, so feel free to take him with you when you go out on adventures. Dexter is housetrained but may need a little time to get used to the potty routine and schedule in his forever home. He will benefit from pee pads and/or belly bands in the interim. Dexter does best with a predictable routine and regular opportunities to go outside. He has some trouble hearing, so cuddling and soft treats will help supplement verbal praise when helping him adjust. He sleeps through the night like a champ with the cutest, softest little snores you've ever heard. Right now, Dexter is on a special diet to help him gain weight and soothe his stomach. His forever family will need to be dedicated to helping him finish filling out to a healthy weight - as well as giving him the love, attention, and affection he's missed out on his whole life! He's got a little bit of arthritis and some itchy skin, but he's on meds to help him control these issues. Dexter is a well-mannered, affectionate senior with plenty of personality and playfulness. He acts younger than his age and enjoys walks, playtime, sniffing outside, warm clothes for cold days outside, mealtime, and cozy time with his people. Friendly, gentle, and polite, he would make a wonderful companion for someone seeking a loving, low-drama dog with a big heart. He thrives with a consistent routine and does best in a home where extended periods away are limited or thoughtfully planned. Dexter is counting down the days until his forever family finds him, and we can't wait to see who's lucky enough to adopt this sweet soul. Could it be you? Dexter is approximately 13 years old and 15 lbs. Fostered in Germantown, MD Please apply at MirisHaven.org

Story
Beautiful Bella and her dad, Eli, were rescued from lives as working dogs for a breeder who treated them as property. Poor Bella had been bred so many times during her eight years of life that her insides were severely swollen and infected. Critter Cavalry arrived just in time to save her from a painful death.  Bella is now happy and healthy as she slowly adjusts to life as a pet. She is a very smart girl who just wants to be near you. While she is not needy, she is keenly aware of where her foster mom is and likes to see her. Bella has learned to use the doggie door and is now housebroken. This process was easy for her because she follows her foster mom everywhere.  The most challenging hurdle Bella has faced so far has been discovering the freedom of the outdoors, along with the sensation of soft grass beneath her feet, which felt strange at first compared to the concrete she was used to. Learning to sleep with her foster mom was extremely easy for her; she thrives on the closeness and warmth. Bella will be a loyal companion for the right family. She needs a quiet, loving home where she feels safe and is treated with patience and understanding. At eight years old, Bella is not old for a poodle—she has a lot of life left to live and much untapped love waiting to be shared with her new family. (Please note: no small children.) If you are interested in considering Bella as a permanent member of your family and would like to request an application, please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com. An approved application and adoption fee are required. Bella is currently in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.December 20, 2025, 12:12 am

Story
Meet Eli!  This handsome guy was rescued along with his daughter, Bella, from the working life of dogs that belonged to a breeder.  To this man all the dogs were simply property.  Eli spent 10 years living life in a crate only being handled when he was 'needed'.  You would never know this sweet boy merely existed.  He shows none of the scars you would expect him to have.  Eli is a very sweet and loving southern gentleman who is slowly learning to live life as a pet.  He is adjusting to fresh air and grass.  Both of which were a truly new experience for him.  He began going outside only because he wanted to stay near his foster mom.  Now he happily walks around the yard and joins Bella and his other foster brothers and sisters for a little sunshine.  Eli is a very smart boy and is already housebroken.  He is also doing a great job walking on a leash.  Eli's favorite place is either in the chair curled up or louging on the back of the chair.  He is able to see everything from that perch.  Eli is ready to find his forever home.  He has plenty of years let to enjoy the good things that life has to offer.  He is looking for a quiet home full of patience and understanding.  He needs a family that will be there for him but allow him to adjust and blossom and his own pace.  You won't be sorry if you add this gentleman to your family.  To be considered for his forever family and to request an application. please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Eli is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)  No small children.  December 20, 2025, 12:12 am

📌 Important Adoption Information All of our dogs are currently living in private shelters or foster homes in South Korea. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. • Rescue Story: Found wandering the streets of South Korea last July, Aladdin was rescued just moments before euthanasia. His walk seemed a bit unusual, and further exams revealed issues with both hips and his patella. He underwent surgery in September–October, and he’s now almost fully recovered — a brave boy! He’s currently staying at a veterinary clinic and patiently waiting for his forever family who can truly give him the loving care he deserves 🙏💛 • Personality: Affectionate, Active, Easy-going A playful affectionate sweetheart! He loves cuddles even with new people❣️ Energy level is medium–high — a happy, playful boy who loves to run around😆 • Affinity with - Dogs: Good with other dogs but prefers to be the only dog in his home as he tends to feel jealous. - Cats: Not tested - Adults/Kids: Good with people / No experience with children yet, but considering his personality, he'd be good around gentle children. • Housetrained: Indoor–outdoor hybrid! He may need a little refresher on potty training in a new environment. • Walking Manners: Loves sniffing around and walks nicely without pulling! • Bathing/Brushing: Good with both • Separation Anxiety: None. • Barks/Howls: Only barks following other dogs. • Car Rides: Great with car rides. • Appetite/Food Allergies: A big eater! / No food allergies found so far • Likes/Dislikes: Loves being held and cuddled, eating treats, and running around! • Shedding level (1~10): 1-2 • Health: After rescue, he had surgeries on both hips and his patella (last Sept–Oct). He’s now almost fully recovered! With steady walks and exercise, he’ll continue to build good muscle in his back legs🥺 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.
