Story
Luke (17 weeks old) is the only mini poodle remaining in the group of five that arrived a couple of weeks ago. He's fun, very playful, loves every person he meets (after initial hesitation), every dog is a new best friend, and he has no concept that he's about 8lbs soaking wet! As to his adult weight? We highly doubt he'll get to 10lbs, but we can't tell you that for certain. Just like his siblings, Luke has a very restricted adoption radius and requirements, which is why he's still in a foster home, and we're just fine with that. Applying and telling us you're the best home he'll ever have while you do not meet the adoption criteria, is not going to cause a dent in the rigidity of the adoption radius and requirement: 1- You must live within 15 miles maximum of zip code 20906 or 10 miles maximum of zip code 21209. Maximum really means maximum. 2- No children under the age of 13. 3- He's a tripping hazard, so must be physically fit and agile. 4- Must provide the contact information for your current groomer 5- If there is a resident dog, he/she may not weigh more than 20 lbs If interested in meeting Luke and meet the criteria above, then please do fill out our non-binding application here: https://bit.ly/4d7XoKd

Story
Henny is a lovely senior dog looking for a new forever home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by love and companionship. We absolutely adore her, but unfortunately our toddler has been diagnosed with a medical comdition that requires significant time and attention, and we feel we can no longer provide Henny with the care and activity she deserves. Henny is a senior with a wonderful mix of calmness and energy, making her perfect for both relaxing at home and having fun outdoors. Temperament: She is excellent with kids and gets along well with other pets, making her a friendly addition to any family. If you think you might be the right fit for Henny, please reach out! We want to find her the perfect home where she will continue to be cherished and adored.

Story
Zoey is a healthy, sweet-tempered 4-year old mini poodle. She is patient and gentle, never aggressive, great with kids. She loves other dogs and is good with cats. She is fairly low maintenance, enjoys walks and loves attention but also does well lounging around the house. Her only real problem is an anatomical issue (ectopic ureter) which causes her to leak urine on occasion. So she is house-trained but will still have accidents sometimes because the pee leaks out of her body when she is lying down. To correct this, she would need surgery (which we cannot presently afford). This condition does not affect her health (aside from increased susceptibility to UTIs) or temperament at all but can be frustrating to deal with. Sometimes she has gone 6 months or more without an issue, but other times she’ll have multiple accidents in the same week.

If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Lea, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The CSAC volunteer said, "She is very sweet, not too scared for a mill girl. She should come out of her shell pretty quickly and will make a good family pet." The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen.
