This dog is sheltered in a foster based, nonprofit rescue. Story
Asha’s owners loved her, but had a farm and she had a taste for the owner's chickens and made the choice to surrender her. Asha is high energy and loves to play, but also loves her snuggles and to be with people. She has tested well with dogs, but due to her prey drive towards chickens, we are hesitant to suggest a home with small animals/cats. Asha is heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for her new home. This furbaby is located at Animal Harbor in southern middle TN. You can apply at www.animalharbor.org . If approved, we will facilitate a virtual meet and greet and answer any questions you may have. We partner with the awesome transport service company Rescue Riders to safely and professionally move our animals to their loving new homes!

Story
Hello. My name is Bubba, I am 10 years old and was dropped off by my dad who could no longer take care of me. I am a sweet boy who still has a lot of like left in me. I love treats and pets. I love people and have done great around all the other dogs I meet here at the shelter. I am sad now that I lost my home and I am hoping to find a new person to love me for the rest of my life. The foster uses the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. So they will be bringing me to a destination near you if you will please adopt me.

Story
Rocket, the lively 3-year-old Mountain Cur, has spent a year at the shelter, patiently waiting for the perfect launch into his forever home. With a heart full of love and a penchant for tennis balls, Rocket is ready to be the star of your life, bringing joy, companionship, and plenty of tail-wagging moments. Rocket's love for tennis balls is legendary! Whether it's a game of fetch in the backyard or a playful romp at the park, Rocket's boundless energy and enthusiasm for chasing and retrieving tennis balls make him the MVP of any play session. Prepare for hours of fun and laughter as Rocket showcases his impressive ball-catching skills. He will certainly need a fenced yard to show off his skills in-- leashed walks just aren't his thing! Rocket is not just a tennis ball fanatic - he's also feline-friendly. This adaptable pup can coexist peacefully with a cat. When the ball-chasing action slows down, Rocket transforms into a belly-rub aficionado. His gentle nature and love for affectionate gestures make him the perfect cuddle companion. Rocket thrives on the warmth of human touch, and his wagging tail is a testament to the joy he experiences during every belly rub session. Rocket, thrives in the company of adults. He enjoys being the solo star of the household, relishing in undivided attention. With Rocket as your one and only, you'll experience a deep and meaningful bond that only a canine companion like him can provide. Rocket may be energetic on the field, but he also possesses a charming couch potato side. His ability to seamlessly transition from playtime to relaxation makes him an ideal companion for those seeking a balanced and laid-back canine friend. Curl up with Rocket on the couch, and you'll find yourself enjoying peaceful moments together. Despite his wonderful qualities, Rocket has been patiently waiting at the shelter for almost two years, dreaming of a loving family to call his own. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a playful, affectionate, and ball-loving canine companion, Rocket is the perfect match. Adopt Rocket, and together, you'll embark on a journey filled with laughter, love, and endless tennis ball adventures.

Story
Mira - Female Mountain Cur/Shepherd Mix (BREED AND WEIGHT AT FULL GROWTH ARE BEST GUESS ONLY) Date of Birth 12/11/23 Current weight 8lbs Mira comes from a typical sad situation of unwanted due to the irresponsibility of humans not spaying/neutering. At just 4-5 weeks old she and her siblings were discarded at the gates of the shelter in Alabama. Thank goodness they were well cared for and got to hitch a ride to Illinois to find their forever homes. Already learning basic puppy manners (Crate training, leash training, house training) they are all very smart, quick learners and huge snugglers. Someone would need to be home most of the time (no more than a few hours left alone) to continue training and socialization. She loves kids and other dogs. If she seems like a great fit and you would meet her requirements please visit the rescue website www.foreverhomedogrescueil.org for process and applications. WE DO NOT DO OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS Thank you for considering the adoption of one of our rescue dogs. We are committed to finding our rescues the perfect home. Together we can make a difference in the life of a dog. The adoption process should be a fun and exciting time for families and dogs. Our goal is to place our babies in forever homes. The potential adopter needs to be dedicated to their care and training for life. Understand that sharing your life with a dog can be a commitment of 15+ years. This would include feeding, exercise, training, vetting, and providing a loving home. Ask yourself, "Am I ready for this type of commitment?" If you are ready, we are here to help. We do have some requirements to help us find the perfect placement of our babies. WE ARE A FOSTER BASED RESCUE ONLY. WE DO NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL BUILDING 1. Apply online at https://www.foreverhomedogrescueil.org We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family (including other dogs) to approve an adoption. Only a final approval for adoption can take place after a successful meet and greet. This is done by appointments only. We will not proceed with the adoption if everyone has not met the dog. This will allow others the opportunity to adopt the dog. 2. Adopters MUST be 25 years old. Information on all adults/members living in the home is required We REQUIRE you to provide proof and vet reference that all current and past pets have been kept up to date on all routine medical. 3. Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spayed/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, 4. If you do not own your home, you must provide landlord contact information on the application and a copy of your lease that outlines the rules for dog ownership in your residence. Large breed dogs will not be adopted into apartment settings or where there are breed/ size restrictions. Puppies have special needs and require a home where someone is available to care for, socialize, and give basic training. If you are gone for more than a couple hours at a time, please consider adopting a teen or older dog. 5. Adoption fees are $400.00. We accept Zelle, Cash or Checks. (Prices are subject to change without notice). 6. All dogs and puppies adopted through Forever Home are fully vetted with age appropriate vaccines. Keep in mind once you take possession of your newly adopted dog, any and all future medical costs or care is YOUR responsibility. 7. First time puppy/dog adopters will be required to sign up for and pay in advance a basic training class. A deposit of an extra 50.00 will be required until a class has been completed, it will then be returned. 8.
