Don't let Jenkins shy side fool you, this boy is a big goofball and loves to play! We don't know what his life was like in Alabama, but we do know he is ready for his new home. He's made dog and human friends alike and can't wait to make more. Jenkins has been known to be a self entertainer and a lover of beds. Story
Are you looking for a dog who will love you endlessly and make you feel special every single day? Rocket is your boy. He is sweet, loving, affectionate, and very attentive to his person. He is also smart, treat-motivated, knows sit, down, paw, and roll-over! Rocket needs a special home though, because he truly is a special boy. Rocket struggles with anxiety, particularly in certain situations, like on walks. He needs a home with specific requirements (like a fenced-in yard), so that his need to be put in those stressful situations is minimized. Rocket is looking for a dog-savvy home in a low-traffic neighborhood so he can relax and be the best dog he can be.

Story
FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60625 ESTIMATED DOB: 04/2015 WEIGHT: 47lbs KIDS: Likely DOGS: Yes CATS: No HISTORY: Josie came to us from a rural Louisiana shelter. She came to us with Frito Pie when their owner passed away and the neighbor paid for boarding until they could find a shelter to take them. Josie was getting very depressed at the shelter. ABOUT: Josie is a very sweet and well behaved girl. She has excellent house manners and is housetrained and does not need to be crated while you are gone. She is happy to lounge on dog beds or the couch waiting for you to return. Josie has a very understated, calm personality. She is never boisterous or hyper. She is not fearful or shy, but she doesn’t run right up to visitors. She likes to take a few minutes to take them in before quietly walking over to see if they are interested in petting her. Josie has few demands of her people, but if you sit on the couch, she will hop up next to you and gently paw at you for attention, and prefers you never stop. If you ignore her for a few minutes she will walk to the other end of the couch and curl up for a nap. Josie does not bark just to hear herself or get attention, but she is good at alert barking to people lingering on the sidewalk, or walking through the alley. She will also occasionally join in if the dogs in the neighborhood are discussing something important. Josie has a fenced yard in her foster home, but she enjoys walks and is very easy to walk on leash. Josie enjoys walks and is excellent on leash. She also enjoys stuffed toys and will carry them around for a while before disemboweling them. Josie is also very stoic and although she doesn’t love things like baths and nail trims, she takes it like a champ without much protest. Josie is fostered with large and small breed dogs and is respectful and kind. She mostly keeps to herself and isn’t bothered when new fosters arrive and old fosters leave. She is very comfortable with other dogs around, but she doesn’t interact much and would very easily be just as happy as an only dog. Josie has a prey drive for rabbits and squirrels so she would not be appropriate for homes with cats or other small animals. Josie is not being fostered with children, but she has a very sweet, gentle personality. She would likely do well with calm or mature children as she wouldn’t be a huge fan of constant chaos and commotion or rough housing. Josie has completed the injections for heartworm treatment. She will need one final test to confirm it was successful in June of 2024. More information and our adoption application can be found at www.luluslockerrescue.org.

Story
Hi, I'm Sully. Nice to meet you! Im looking for Boo and Mike Wazowski, have you seen them? I heard that they are staying at a place I would like to call home too! I hear that they have a big yard for me to run in, a kiddie pool or pond, that I can splash around in and blow the occasional bubbles in the water. Boo, and Mike promised me that my forever home would be free of other monsters (animals) but there would be other humans to stay with (kids 12+ are ok for me)! I would love to have other monster friends (dogs) that I can go on adventures with from time to time but need to be the only one in my house! Additionally, I would be so happy to show off my basic manners, and house training. If you are up for the challenge and the fun, stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. I don't want to brag, but my face and kisses are almost addicting! I'm a true hound dog at heart. My favorite thing to do is being outside, so I can smell all the smells! I love my daily walks, with my people. After our exercise, I will curl up in a bed or couch for a good snooze. Little humans and other animals are fine at a distance, but I want to soak up all your attention! I thrive as a single pup. My favorite things: Being outside! I love to soak in the sun, smell all the smells, and adventure with my trainers. Long walks/hikes I'm a foodie. Give me all the treats!
