Story
Meet Lady Bell: Lady Bell is about a 1 year old (as of December 13, 2025) mountain cur/lab mix (best guess) with beautiful black markings that weighs about 50 pounds. Lady Bell and her 3 siblings were dumped on a rural highway off Interstate 55 in northeast Arkansas on June 30th. They were covered in ticks and malnourished. A rescuer found out and went to get them and took them to a safe, temporary foster home on July 4th. Lady Bell is currently being fostered in the Mountville, PA area and would love to to her forever family! Lady Bell is a sweet, independent girl that is also eager to spend time with her humans.  Lady Bell is very curious and is always exploring anything new that is happening around her. Lady Bell loves playing with toys and enjoys running through a play tunnel with her siblings. We believe Lady Bell could really enjoy playing with obstacles or an agility course. Lady Bell gets along well with other dogs. Lady Bell is crate trained and doing well learning how to walk on a leash. Lady Bell is currently using a doggie door to go outside, but is consistent and goes to the door when she needs to go out, so the foster believes house training to another method should go well. We would love for Lady Bell to have a home with a fenced in yard so she can play freely. Lady Bell is up to date on her shots and spayed. Lady Bell is ready for her forever family - is it with you? If you are interested in adding this agile lady into your life, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. Gemma is basically the canine equivalent of sunshine wrapped in fur. She’s playful, loving, and gets along with everyone like she’s running for “Best Friend of the Year.” Her sociable charm is matched only by her ridiculously adorable face and those warm, gemstone eyes that could probably convince you to hand over your last slice of pizza. Gemma rocks a stunning brindle coat that looks like it was designed by Mother Nature herself. She adores everyone, and she’ll happily make herself the heart of your household. Bring Gemma home, and you’ll wonder how you ever lived without her! This special girl is 2 years old and loves her dog friends too. Story
Oakley, affectionately known as 'Dottie girl ' by her foster family, has such a sweet, lovable, big personality and is very eager to please!  This Pit/Mountain Curr mix is a total Phoenix that has risen from the fires of neglect, abandonment and even successfully raised her litter of puppies in the woods for the first 10 weeks of life. They were all successfully adopted in the Fall and living wonderful lives of love and commitment from their families.  Oakley is the perfect girl that lives with anyone and everyone that comes her way.  She embraces all people and dogs and she just lives her life with resilience and tolerance.  This girl might not be a Golden Retriever in looks but she surpasses any of the commonly accepted breeds that everyone gravitates to and wants to adopt.  Take her Pit mix package look away and please consider only her SOUL?  Trust us, you will not want to look elsewhere for the most perfect and beautiful temperamented dog.  Oakley sits on command and walks nicely on a leash.  When she meets new people, she is so very social and she embraces all other dogs, adults and children alike.  This girl loves to play dress up in cozy sweaters and loves a good chew toy. HOW FUN!???? RIGHT?  If you have children she is right there to engage and play with them and their fantasies.  This Momma dog is just a young 2yr old, 40lb sweetheart who longs to be an inside dog that can cuddle up next to you on the couch and help you melt the life challenges away.   Oakley had outsmarted many rescuers for months running around the county with her litter of puppies being. When she gave in we realized what a remarkable Mom she was and the beauty of her puppies.  All of her puppies have been adopted, but now Oakley is raising her heart and hand to say…. Pick Me Too!  She deserves a remarkable future and life because she will provide the amazing dog companion to someone that can ever be imagined.  Forget the wrapper on the package and consider the heart please…You won’t regret living a life with Oakley. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Churro  Australian Shepherd / Mountain Cur Mix | ~9 weeks old This handsome little guy is a happy, confident, and people-loving puppy with a sweet, easygoing nature. He’s playful and curious like any healthy pup, but he’s not over-the-top or chaotic — he has a really nice balance for his age. He adapts well to new situations, enjoys being around people, and does beautifully with other dogs. He’s being raised in a social environment and is learning excellent dog manners early on. After playtime, he’s content to settle in and relax — a wonderful trait that often carries into adulthood. We believe he is an Australian Shepherd / Mountain Cur mix, a pairing known for intelligence, loyalty, and strong bonds with their people. He’s the kind of puppy who wants to be part of whatever you’re doing and will grow into a devoted, steady companion. This boy would be a great fit for someone looking for a smart, affectionate pup who enjoys interaction but also knows how to relax. If he’s caught your eye, we’d love to hear about your home and lifestyle. Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Brody, a handsome little gentleman This sweet boy is around 10–11 weeks old and is blossoming more each day. When he first arrived, he was understandably frightened — but with the help of a calm, confident dog friend, he’s come beautifully out of his shell. What we’re seeing now is a gentle, thoughtful, and very kind puppy. We believe he may be a Mountain Cur / Catahoula mix — a combination known for intelligence, loyalty, and strong bonds with their people. These are dogs bred to be partners: steady, observant, and deeply connected to those they trust. Despite his unsure start, this little guy has shown a truly lovely temperament. He is exceptionally gentle, especially with two younger puppies he’s currently staying with. He reads other dogs well, adjusts his energy, and shows a natural kindness that you don’t see in every puppy. He’s not a loud or pushy pup — he’s more of a quiet observer, the kind who watches first, then leans in once he feels safe. With a little patience and continued positive experiences, he’s going to grow into a wonderful companion: loyal, emotionally steady, and devoted to his person. This boy will do best with someone who appreciates a dog with a mind and a heart — someone who understands that confidence grows through trust, not force. In return, they’ll get a dog who bonds deeply and gives that loyalty back tenfold. If his picture caught your attention, we’d love for you to reach out and learn more about him. Sometimes the very best dogs are the ones who just need someone to look past first impressions and see the soul underneath. Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. Story
Xena, the 6-month-old purebred Mountain Cur, is a great choice for anyone searching for an intelligent and athletic furry friend. She enjoys playing and running around, and is gentle and affectionate towards other dogs. Although she may take some time to warm up to new people, once she does, you will receive an abundance of love and kisses. Xena had a bit of a rough start in life, as she was discovered alone under a building in SC when she was only 10 weeks old. However, she has made tremendous progress since then, and is now spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, housebroken, and heartworm negative. This furry beauty is currently on monthly preventative, ensuring her good health and happiness. If you are considering adopting Xena, it is strongly recommended that you have a fenced backyard, as she loves to run and play. Additionally, Xena would appreciate living with another dog, as she adores all of her foster siblings. Overall, Xena is an intelligent, athletic, and sweet pup that would be an excellent addition to any caring household. To find out more about this gorgeous pup and see if she is the right fit for you, get in touch with her foster family today.
