Story
Bluey is a 2 year old (5/11) mixed breed dog who was named after her one blue eye. She is about 40-45lbs. She was rescued from home at last in January where we were told she was found in a shelter in the south. She is the sweetest, most lovable girl. A Velcro dog who wants constant pets and cuddles. She listens well and is eager to learn. She loves squeaky tennis balls and bones to chew. She is crate trained and will sometimes go in voluntarily if she needs space. Bluey has been in a home with another dog. They play well together but have gotten in a few fights over bones/food. Bluey needs to be in a home without children. She fears them, is uncomfortable around them, and has shown aggression towards children when scared or provoked. She did bite my daughter when my daughter pushed her away from food, which is why we need to re-home her. We are absolutely heart broken. She truly is such a good girl. Please give her a second chance. She just can’t be with kids.

Story
It breaks my heart to make this post, but after a lot of thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to begin looking for the perfect forever home for my deaf dog, Rex. I’ve had Rex for about 6 years, since he was just a puppy. We’ve been through so much together, including moving to Philadelphia, but I’ve come to realize that my current lifestyle just isn’t what’s best for him. I work night shift as a nurse, and apartment living in the city has been hard on him. He clearly misses having a quiet environment and a yard where he can explore freely. This decision is entirely about giving him the happiest life possible. About Rex: * Deaf since birth (likely double Merle) * Neutered * Up to date on all vaccines and preventatives * Chicken allergy * Takes daily fluoxetine (Prozac) for anxiety * House trained * Loves people and is always excited to make new friends * Can live with other dogs, but they need to be patient since he can’t pick up on many canine social cues due to his deafness

Story
We adopted Pablo from Tijuana, Mexico, where he and his siblings were rescued from the streets and brought to San Diego. We have since moved to Philadelphia, and our demanding careers have made it difficult to give Pablo the time he deserves. Pablo has become a wonderful dog in the seven months we’ve had him. He is intelligent, loving, crate and potty trained, and loves learning new tricks. However, he is anxious in a city environment and resource guards food and treats around unfamiliar dogs, likely stemming from his time on the streets. Despite significant training efforts, we have not been able to resolve this behavior. He has never shown this behavior toward people and gets along well with dogs he knows. Because his guarding makes boarding difficult when we travel, we are looking for a loving home that can give Pablo the time, stability, and care he deserves.

Story
Once he feels comfortable and safe, he is a very loving and fun dog. He loves sunbathing, long walks, running in the woods, playing with his toys, and finding cozy places to sleep. If he sees a blanket or pile of clothes, he’ll happily curl up on it! He does have behavioral challenges. He struggles with separation anxiety and can become destructive with his kennel or things in the home when left alone. He also dislikes loud or beeping noises. He is not a good fit for small children or crowded homes, as he can become nervous and does not like being touched by people he doesn’t know. He would do best with a patient, experienced owner who can respect his boundaries and give him time to adjust. He is a great dog with a lot of love to give, and I truly want to find him a home where he can be happy, safe and understood! This is a very difficult decision, but my life has become much busier, and I can no longer give him the time and attention he deserves.

Story
Artie is a lovable, energetic and handsome black/white mix breed dog. He would be happiest in a home environment that has some yard to play, ideally with a fence. Artie lives in a small home on a busy street, and does not have regular access to secure open space. He has to be on leash whenever outside. Aside from loving the outdoors, he is very friendly, loves belly rubs, and cuddling. In warmer months, he loves sitting on the front porch and saying hi to neighbors.Artie was adopted from Providence Animal Shelter at 3 mos and has been professionally trained. He is smart, learns quickly and responds to positive reinforcement. He is sweet with babies, affectionate, and used to being around other dogs. Traveling is easy because Artie does not mind car rides.Artie deserves a loving home where he has opportunities to roam more freely outdoors. He enjoys playtime and long walks, and will quickly become your best friend. Owner can provide vet/trainer recommendations.

Story
Hi everyone, This is my awesome dog Noodle. She is an anxious, weird, yet lovable mush of a dog that is my best buddy. Well, this is one of the hardest things to write/ decisions that I have to make but she needs a new person to love her as much as I do or even more. Unfortunately, she is not a kid friendly dog. Is she a mean dog? Absolutely not. But she is scared of kids and not friendly with them. Over the last 4 years I’ve kept her and the kiddos separate while I’ve tried to work with her but the situation hasn’t gotten any better and isn’t fair to any of them. Noodle is stressed and I can’t have them both in a position where they are at risk for something to happen.
