Story
Hank is a super sweet and goofy boy. He was found as a stray in the country, just trying to survive on his own. People were very mean to him when he would come around looking for food.  Because of this, he is very shy/nervous in new places and around new people, but non aggressive.   Once you win him over, he will give you his entire heart.  He is extremely loving and affectionate, quite the big baby. Hank is loyal, and goofy.  He loves to play and loves adventure. His smile as is big as Texas and his little under bite is one of the cutest things you'll see! He would do best in a low traffic home. He has been fostered with a small (very dog experienced) child and is great, but he is a bit hyper and clumsy at times and can accidentally knock a small child down, (he's 80lbs), so he would do best with older children.  He would thrive in a home with another dog to play with in a big back yard, but does require slow introductions as he is wary of new dogs at first.  He is rambunctious with his dog friends and needs a friend that tolerate his ruff house play!  He has been with other dogs ranging from 15-65lbs.  Hank does well with non confrontational cats! Hank has a (back) foot deformity.  We do not know if it was a birth defect or if something happened to him, but he only has one toe on his back foot, which contributes some to his clumsiness.  He has been on glucosamine and joint supplements his entire time in rescue and it is recommended he stays on them his entire life to prevent early arthritis because of his foot.  It is not expensive and can be bought over the counter. Story
Archer came to our rescue after being picked up as a stray. He doesn’t know his front ankles aren’t ‘normal’ as he gets around just fine. This condition is Angular Limb Disorder and attempting surgeries to resolve could make his situation worse. While he wouldn’t be a great running companion he still loves going for walks and short jogs. Long or strenuous walks could make him sore, so his family would want to avoid that as he would go if asked. This handsome boy is a happy, outgoing, gentle soul. He loves humans of all sizes and ages. Being with his humans and getting attention is his very favorite thing. He lives with lots of other dogs and is fine with everyone unless they are nasty to him; he won’t be bullied by anyone. He is good around the cats in his foster home who are very dog savvy. Archer has excellent house manners and is crate trained. He is engaged with his humans and treat motivated so would do well with training. He already has great recall and will sit for treats. He loves going for rides and would be a great go-everywhere dog. Archer is fully vetted – current vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story
💔 Five Years Is Far Too Long 💔 Meet Pippi. Pippi is an 8-year-old, 47-pound sweetheart who has spent an unbelievable amount of her life waiting for someone to choose her. She has been in boarding since February 7, 2021. That's more than five years of watching other dogs leave while she stays behind. Despite everything, Pippi hasn't given up. She is a graduate of our Canine Good Citizen program and is one of the most well-trained dogs in our rescue. She knows sit, place, leave it, shake, and drop it. She loves her people, loves her toys, and absolutely lights up when a ball comes out. Pippi is fully house-trained and would thrive in a home where she can finally be part of a family. She adores her people and does well with male dogs, but she needs a home without female dogs or cats. Like many dogs who have spent years in a kennel environment, Pippi can get excited when she sees squirrels, cats, or bikes on walks. She has worked extensively with trainers and continues to make progress. What she really needs now is a chance to practice all those skills in a home of her own. Think about it. Since 2021, Pippi has watched seasons change, holidays come and go, puppies grow up, and hundreds of other dogs find families. Through it all, she has waited. And waited. And waited. We know her person is out there. ✔️ Canine Good Citizen Graduate ✔️ House-Trained ✔️ Loves People ✔️ Does Well With Male Dogs ✔️ Loves Toys and Fetch ✔️ Ready for a Real Home ❌ No Female Dogs ❌ No Cats Pippi has done everything we've asked of her. She has learned, grown, trained, and waited patiently. Now it's our turn to help her find what she's been missing for far too long: a family. If you can't adopt, please consider fostering. Even a temporary home would mean more to Pippi than you can imagine. 📧 adopt@dallasdogrrr.org Let's make sure Pippi doesn't spend another year waiting. ❤️
