Story
Pepper is approximately 4 Months old and weighs 25 pounds. She will probably be about 50-55 pounds when grown. She is easy to work with and a complete love-bug. Pepper does well on the leash and she goes on a daily walk with one of our other dogs. Pepper has been excellent with feeding, potty training, and crate training. Pepper seems to do well on short car rides. She currently lives with 3 other dogs and gets along well with them. Pepper is friendly but she is shy with new people. She would do well with a family with older children that have been exposed to dogs and knows how to be gentle. Pepper is leash, house and crate trained. She has not been in a home with cats so we don't know how she would react to one. Overall, Pepper is just an awesome, pretty chill dog. She loves her belly rubs and being pet (her fur is so soft). She loves to play with her toys, she loves playing and napping with the other dogs. Story
Hank is a super sweet and goofy boy. He was found as a stray in the country, just trying to survive on his own. People were very mean to him when he would come around looking for food.  Because of this, he is very shy/nervous in new places and around new people, but non aggressive.   Once you win him over, he will give you his entire heart.  He is extremely loving and affectionate, quite the big baby. Hank is loyal, and goofy.  He loves to play and loves adventure. His smile as is big as Texas and his little under bite is one of the cutest things you'll see! He would do best in a low traffic home. He has been fostered with a small (very dog experienced) child and is great, but he is a bit hyper and clumsy at times and can accidentally knock a small child down, (he's 80lbs), so he would do best with older children.  He would thrive in a home with another dog to play with in a big back yard, but does require slow introductions as he is wary of new dogs at first.  He is rambunctious with his dog friends and needs a friend that tolerate his ruff house play!  He has been with other dogs ranging from 15-65lbs.  Hank does well with non confrontational cats! Hank has a (back) foot deformity.  We do not know if it was a birth defect or if something happened to him, but he only has one toe on his back foot, which contributes some to his clumsiness.  He has been on glucosamine and joint supplements his entire time in rescue and it is recommended he stays on them his entire life to prevent early arthritis because of his foot.  It is not expensive and can be bought over the counter. Story
Sweet Panda was dumped in East and some kind people kept him safe and contacted us. He was headed to a shelter and we amazingly got a great foster in the nick of time.  He is the most perfect dog.  He  plays gently, he loves hard and he is such a happy boy.  He is about 7 months old and weighs about 40 lbs.  He is a new arrival and is getting vetted soon.  He is great with other dogs and is potty and crate trained, thus he would love to be out of the crate with his people.   ##2793360##

Story
Danika is a beautiful 58 pound 6-year-old black-and-white Pointer/Boxer mix (best guess) with the perfect balance of playful and laid-back.  She loves her daily walks, enjoys a good game of tug, and is just as happy relaxing nearby while her people work or unwind. She’s the kind of dog who simply enjoys being part of the family. Danika is thriving in her foster home, where she lives with her foster mom and a teenage daughter—the gentle hound mix she was rescued alongside after she and her buddy Dalton were found surviving together in an abandoned house. Their special bond has shown us that Danika enjoys the companionship of other calm, friendly dogs, and she would likely do very well with another easygoing, neutered male. She has wonderful house manners and is fully house trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. Danika is affectionate without being demanding, has an easygoing personality, and settles in beautifully at home. She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, loving dog to share walks, quiet evenings, and everyday life. If you’re looking for a mature dog who has left her difficult past behind and is ready to spend the rest of her life being cherished, Danika may be the perfect addition to your family.   To meet Danika in person visit us at www.dsda.org/foster and submit our online adoption application.  WHEN YOU FOSTER- we provide all the supplies and any medical care still needed such as boosters and monthly heartworm/flea/tick prevention!    ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, kdewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care.  All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption!  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##2751019##
