Story
Hank is a super sweet and goofy boy He was found as a stray in the country, just trying to survive on his own, and people were very mean to him when he would come around looking for food.  Because of this, he is very shy/nervous in new places and around new people, but non aggressive.   Once you win him over, he will give you his entire heart.  He is extremely loving and affectionate.  He is a big baby. Hank is loyal, and goofy.  He loves to play and loves adventure.  He will get on your furniture and "act a fool" at times, but he will always make you smile.  His smile as is big as Texas and his little under bite is one of the cutest things you'll see! He would do best in a low traffic home. He has been fostered with a (now) three year old child for the last two years and is great, but he is a bit hyper and clumsy at times and can accidentally knock a small child down, (he's 80lbs), so he would do best with older children.  He would thrive in a home with another dog to play with in a big back yard, but does require slow introductions as he is wary of new dogs at first as well.  He is rambunctious with his dog friends and needs a friend that tolerate his ruff house play!  He has been with other dogs ranging from 15-65lbs.  Hank does well with un confrontational cats! Hank has a foot deformity.  We do not know if it was a birth defect or if something happened to him, but he only has one toe on his back foot, which contributes some to his clumsiness.  He has been on glucosimine and joint supplements his entire time in rescue and it is recommended he stays on them his entire life to prevent early arthritis since he walks a little "wonky" at times because of his foot.  It is not expensive and can be bought over the counter.   If you're interested in meeting this baby, please reach out or submit an application on our website. Story
Copper is a fantastic buddy that loves his people. He loves watching for squirrels and protecting the yard! Copper adores his “stuffies” and loves to do zoomies with them. Copper would also prefer a home without children. He enjoys a brisk walk, know how to sit and shake and loves to howl when he hears any siren! Copper has a good amount of energy, but also loves to relax with his humans. Soft plush blankets are his favorite, and he can barely wait for you to lay them out before he tries and snuggles in. Copper can be choosy about other dogs, but has lived with a large and small dog with success! If you are looking for a devoted companion, Copper is the guy for you. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Copper is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.June 6, 2023, 9:20 am

Some pets are in the Shelter and others in Foster homes. Please read the bio & email the address listed in the bio.   Additionally for CATS you  may email latkinson@eulesstx.gov  and for DOGS, email trinitygapclub@gmail.com       Meet Russell! This very handsome and personable 2 year old pointer mix lost his home through no fault of his own. He came in with another dog, and appears to get along with other dogs. We think Russell is potty trained and walks well on a leash. He knows sit and other basic command, and is a very smart doggie. Russell is a very sweet boy who enjoys being with people. Sadly he is heartworm positive, but Trinity GAP will pay for his heartworm treatment. He is young and will recover quickly to live a full and normal life span. If you are interested in meeting Russell, please contact bethpizzuto@hebisd.eduJune 8, 2023, 2:54 pm

Story
Meet Izzy, a mature woman who's been on a journey to find her forever family. She's more than ready to settle down in just the right home. She certainly knows how to be content: lounging on the couch, cuddling if she feels like it, and keeping a slower pace. Izzy would be just as happy chewing on her ball as other dogs might be chasing it. Izzy loves squirrels and possums and other wildlife, so it's best for her to be more of a homebody rather than going on outdoor adventures. A yard, and perhaps a home all her own, will let her have her space and maintain her senior pace. Stairs are not easy for Izzy, so she needs an extra dose of patience and understanding to accommodate her lifestyle. At eight years old, this 40-pound pointer mix enjoys children and adults equally, and might even share her surroundings with another bigger dog. She'll walk on a leash, but not for great distances. She prefers an afternoon matinee on the couch to an outing at the dog park. At this point in her life, she's hoping to find a family who loves her for who she is and give her the happiness and quiet she's always wanted. All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. You can view all adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallaspetsalive.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/ .
