We prefer potential adopters to be within 1 hour drive of Claymont DE 19703. Oso (bear in Spanish), was surrendered because his original family could not provide him what he needed. We got “Oh so” and immediately made a vet appointment, we knew he needed to be neutered and dental surgery if his bloodwork was ok, so he was thoroughly checked and good to go. He is a totally different dog after 24 teeth were removed. I don’t think he notices his testies are gone, he is having so much fun chewing on bones, playing with toys and eating with no pain. He has the energy of a 5 year old dog, so not a typical low key senior dog. I would have named him Tigger bc he bounces so much. He just wants to be with his people. If foster mom is sitting, then Oso finds a spot close by to lay down. He loves to go on walks and car rides. He is crate trained too. He gets along with most of the other dogs, except a high energetic one yr old chi that's in everyone’s face. Oso has a very think coat so he will need to be brushed, and he loves it. His bark doesn’t match his size, you would think he was over 50 pounds if you heard his bark behind a closed door. He is very chatty so we will not home him in an apartment or condo. Brownie been jumping from house to house. It's not his fault. His first owner gave him up for unknown reasons. Then his second owner's home burned down. Brownie moves to the beat of his own drum and wants as much attention as he can get. I have had Brownie for about 4 months. He is completely crate trained. He walks around the house with a belly band. He is good with female dogs and cats. He is about 12-15 lbs and had all his shots. He is not picky and hardly play with toys. He loves to jump and play with you. He will let you know when someone is at the door and when he has to go potty. He is a good boy and would love if someone permanently took me in and give me all the love he wants.

Isabella is a 6yo 8lb Pom mix. She is dog friendly. She’s house broken when kept on a schedule, pee pad and crate trained. She is very good with people once she confident she is safe. When she feels unsafe, she will bark obsessively to make you aware that she is not comfortable with her surroundings. She requires minimal amount of noise. She does not do well with over three dogs. Confusion and stress make her bark. Isabella’s foster requires a home that understands she is blind so it takes a little time to feel safe. She will sit right by your side and be completely content. She learns her surroundings quickly and maneuvers well as long as you don’t keep moving things around. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Isabella as all dogs should have 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first. Isabella is blind, she was born with a micro eye defect, and has dry eye which requires eye drops two times daily. She also has arthritis in her hips and legs, which makes her walk a little funny but does very well under pain management. She is spayed, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. At just 7.5 pounds and 4 years old, Maxo is a darling Pomeranian with a fluffy coat, a happy outlook, and a whole lot of love to give. Found as a stray alongside another dog and brought to ACCT Philly, Maxo's journey has already had a few bumps in the road, but we think this little guy deserves to be judged by who he is today. During his intake at ACCT Philly, Maxo nipped a veterinary staff member while being picked up. The incident resulted in only a minor graze that required no medical treatment. Staff believe the situation may have been influenced by the fact that the female dog he arrived with was in heat while Maxo was still intact. Once the dogs were separated, Maxo settled in and did well with all handling. Since then, Maxo has shown us nothing but his sweet side. At both ACCT Philly and in our care, he has been social, friendly, and easy to handle. Volunteers have had no issues picking him up, cuddling him, carrying him, or showering him with affection. In fact, he's quickly become a favorite thanks to his happy personality and loving nature. Maxo is proof that a single moment does not define a dog. What we've seen is an excellent little companion who enjoys people, welcomes attention, and is ready to leave his stray days behind. He deserves a family willing to see the wonderful dog he truly is and give him the fresh start he's earned. If you're looking for a small, affectionate companion with a big heart and an even bigger future, Maxo is ready to meet you.
