Story
This funny pup is named Theodore. He was born 1/2/2025 and originally came to our shelter with 2 littermates. He looks to be a pug that got mixed up with a large breed dog - very unique and nothing we've seen before! He looks like someone hit the "randomizer" option when building this boy. :) He has grown to a hefty 45 lbs, but still remains quite short and stocky. We know someone's out there who would love to be a giant pug! He was adopted as a pup, and unfortunately didn't receive the proper housetraining required for a puppy, so he still is working on that. He is back with us due to his family not being able to provide the proper care and training, as they did not have the time. He spent all his alone time in a crate, so we hope to find a home where he doesn't have to be in one again, and he receives the attention he deserves. He has many good marks on his record that they learned while he was in their home - he is a lovely, social boy who gets along with everyone, and he has many good experiences playing with other dogs his size. He loves a good car ride, and he enjoys a little off-leash running time at the local dog park. He is great on leash for walks as well. His favorite activities include playing fetch, snuggling with his people, and playing with rope toys. Though his training isn't complete, he has been taught commands such as "sit," "lie down," and "paw." $350.00 adoption fee for this great boy. He is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Apply for him today at www.petsnpals.org to schedule a meet and greet for him! Story
This handsome boy is Bonsai! He's a young pup based on his teeth, so we estimated him to be around 10 months old, and he weighs 16 pounds. He's an interesting mixed-breed pup that looks like someone placed a pug head on a Jack Russell body! Bonsai was found by a kind person working in the area who brought him to us so he could have a safe place to stay. He has already shown his gentle nature; his temporary finder noted he got along well with their medium-sized dog. He also seems to be a pro at road trips, as he rides very well in the car. Since we just met him, we are unsure about his history with housetraining, cats, or young children, but his easygoing demeanor suggests he is ready to learn and adapt to his new environment. He is pretty vocal, so apartment-dwellers may not appreciate his songs. Bonsai is currently on a mandatory stray hold until December 5th. This allows time for his original owners to come forward. If his owners do not come forward by that date, he will be prepared for adoption (including being neutered) and ready to find his perfect family! If you are interested in giving this deserving pup a new beginning, please go to petsnpals.org to apply for him and we can schedule a meet-and-greet. $350 adoption fee. Story
**Big Tank is currently in boarding (through no fault of his own) and needs a foster or adopter as soon as possible! All Better World Rescue intake is closed until we can get Big Tank out of boarding** Meet Tank, a short, squishy-faced senior bulldog mix with a heart as big as his adorable blocky head. He’s a low-energy sweetheart who loves nothing more than curling up on the couch, taking naps, and soaking up all the affection he can get. Tank adores people—every single one of them—and he does the cutest little tippy tappies when he sees you have treats. He’s also wonderful with kids and would make a loving, gentle companion for a family. Tank prefers not to share his space with large dogs, though he may do well with small dogs after a slow introduction, and he may also be okay with dog-savvy cats. He rides calmly in the car and is about as easygoing as they come. He has been let down more times than any dog should endure. Tank was first placed on the euthanasia list at Manteca Shelter, then adopted, then rehomed, and eventually ended up at Stanislaus Shelter, where he again faced euthanasia. He went to a foster home but recently lost that placement through no fault of his own due to landlord issues, and he is now in boarding. Through every setback, Tank has remained gentle, loving, and hopeful. He’s ready for a calm, caring home where he can finally enjoy the stability and love he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal couch buddy and a sweet senior who will make your home warmer just by being in it, Tank is ready to meet you. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption. Tank is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you would like to meet Tank to see if he is a good fit for your family, please fill out our adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Upon receipt of your application, one of our passionate volunteers will reach out within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet & greet. If you are interested in fostering Tank, please fill out this application instead: www.betterworldrescue.org/foster-application
