This pretty face is Freya! She is about 6-8 months old and appears to be a Chihuahua/Pug mix (lovingly called a "chug"). She's a great size at only 21 lbs. Sadly, she had to be rehomed due to a new baby in the home. She's a wonderful girl though, and has good experiences with other dogs and children as young as 9. Freya has some pretty great manners, and shes smart and food-driven! She mastered the "sit" command and her housebreaking has been a breeze when kept on a consistent schedule. This funny pup is named Theodore. He was born 1/2/2025 and originally came to our shelter with 2 littermates. He looks to be a pug that got mixed up with a large breed dog - very unique and nothing we've seen before! He looks like someone hit the "randomizer" option when building this boy. :) He has grown to a hefty 45 lbs, but still remains quite short and stocky. We know someone's out there who would love to have a giant pug! He was adopted as a pup, and unfortunately didn't receive the proper housetraining required for a puppy, so he still is working on that. He is back with us due to his family not being able to provide the proper care and training, as they did not have the time. He spent all his alone time in a crate, so we hope to find a home where he doesn't have to be in one again, and he receives the attention he deserves.He has many good marks on his record that they learned while he was in their home - he is a lovely, social boy who gets along with everyone, and he has many good experiences playing with other dogs his size. He loves a good car ride, and he enjoys a little off-leash running time at the local dog park. He is great on leash for walks as well. His favorite activities include playing fetch, snuggling with his people, and playing with rope toys. Though his training isn't complete, he has been taught commands such as "sit," "lie down," and "paw." $350.00 adoption fee for this great boy. He is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Meet Cookie, the 18-lb bundle of energy youve been waiting for! This unique girl is estimated to be 23 years old and appears to be a delightful mix of Pug, Chihuahua, and/or Frenchie. With her stunning brindle coat, long "low-rider" body, and an adorable short face, a DNA test would be very interesting! Her previous caregiver reported zero accidents during her three-week stay, so she likely has a fantastic head start on house training. She had a dog friend while she stayed with them too, so she's be a good potential second dog to an already established home. Just bring them to the meet-and-greet and we can see how everyone gets along! She's been around kids as young as 9 and did great as well! Whether shes zooming around the yard or looking for a lap to crash on, Cookie is sure to be a great companion for a family or solo owner. Bebe is a purebred 4 yr old Pug. She is a sweet dog but tends to have guarding issues. She does not like a harness or collar being put on her...not sure if she had a bad experience in her past or what exactly happened. She does walk well on a leash though and is very playful. She will guard her person, her food and her favorite toys at times. So no kids with this little stinker. Demi is the Buddha of all dogs. She is calm, grounded, gentle and extremely loving to humans and dogs of all sizes and ages. Demi currently lives with cats but would need further training to co-exist with small animals. She is housebroken, crate trained, is comfortable navigating all stairs, doesn't bark, doesn't jump up and is not interested in much physical exercise. After all she has been through she has earned the right to lounge. Demi thrives on affection. She will lay her big head in your lap and just lean in and soak up all the attention. She also loves to slump over and lay belly up for a good tummy rub. She is mouth gentle but cherishes her food so should always be fed separate as a precaution. Demi has completed entropion surgery to help with her sight, but she will need a pat of dry eye ointment in each eye two times a day forevermore to continue being the brown eyed beauty she is. She is an angel and just sits patiently while you tend to her. Demi was also suffering chronic, untreated ear infections before coming into rescue care and is receiving Teca-bo surgery to address this, which leaves her deaf in one ear. Demi truly makes owning a dog easy. She's great for a laidback lifestyle and also for a first time dog owner. Meet Tank, a short, squishy-faced senior bulldog mix with a heart as big as his adorable blocky head. He’s a low-energy sweetheart who loves nothing more than curling up on the couch, taking naps, and soaking up all the affection he can get. Tank adores people—every single one of them—and he does the cutest little tippy tappies when he sees you have treats. He’s also wonderful with kids and would make a loving, gentle companion for a family. Tank prefers not to share his space with large dogs, though he may do well with small dogs after a slow introduction, and he may also be okay with dog-savvy cats. He rides calmly in the car and is about as easygoing as they come. He has been let down more times than any dog should endure. Tank was first placed on the euthanasia list at Manteca Shelter, then adopted, then rehomed, and eventually ended up at Stanislaus Shelter, where he again faced euthanasia. He is currently flourishing in a loving foster home. Through every setback, Tank has remained gentle, loving, and hopeful. He’s ready for a calm, caring home where he can finally enjoy the stability and love he deserves.
