Story
Turbina came into the shelter with her four siblings after her parents left the country and the remaining family member was unable to care for them. She is 10 years old, weighs 16 pounds, and has quickly made herself right at home in foster care. Turbina has already shown us she’s a champion sleeper, an enthusiastic eater, and a world class snorer. While she can be a little shy at first, Turbina is incredibly sweet once she knows she’s safe and cared for. She is really starting to come out of her shell, seeking out her foster family for affection, following her foster mom around the house, and happily joining in on little adventures. She loves sleeping on the bed, is eating well, and is even beginning to ask for walks. Turbina is also learning house training and doing great. She will thrive in a calm, quiet home without young children where she can continue to build confidence and feel secure. She is scheduled for cherry eye surgery on April 14 and will be ready to head to her forever and ever home afterward.

Story
Feather, Gus, & Dale. We are an accidental litter. We are neutered, chipped & vaccinated. We are Pug Schnauzer mix. Mom is 100% Pug & dad is Schnauzer/mini Poodle. We are 12 weeks old & our days consist of playing & taking naps. Because we are still young, my mom wants everyone to know that we will need help w/potty-training because we are new at it. Being 50% pug means we will shed. Even if you think maybe we won't because of our Schnauzer genes, it's better to assume that we will, because pugs shed a lot, so we won't be good in a home w/someone w/allergies. We are very playful. We are not crate-trained, although we do sleep in a playpen w/each other. We’ve never been alone before, so we will probably cry until we get used to it or maybe someone will adopt who has a friend for us. Mom expects to get lots of interested families for us, so we apologize if we don't respond right away. Tell us about you. Story
Pug / Dachshund Mix Age: ≈ 4 years old Female, spayed 15 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Cheerio came to the Sacramento County Shelter underweight and with an embedded foxtail in her neck. It was removed surgically, but post-op they had trouble stopping the bleeding. She tested negative for any blood clotting disorder - perhaps the surgery nicked an artery? Eventually, the bleeding stopped, but it left her anemic. The shelter needed a rescue group that specializes in medical cases to continue addressing her veterinary needs. Over time in foster care, her anemia improved and she gained her weight back. She is a very friendly, sweet dog. She likes attention and affection from her foster parents and volunteers. She likes roughhousing with the younger, larger dogs in her foster home. She doesn’t like being confined or kept away from the activities of the home. Crate training would be pretty difficult - lots of barking. Apartment living may not be the best option for her. We have no experience with her as an only dog. We would recommend that she go to a home with other playful, friendly dogs. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. Story
This funny pup is named Theodore. He was born 1/2/2025 and originally came to our shelter with 2 littermates. He looks to be a pug that got mixed up with a large breed dog - very unique and nothing we've seen before! He looks like someone hit the "randomizer" option when building this boy. :) He has grown to a hefty 45 lbs, but still remains quite short and stocky. We know someone's out there who would love to have a giant pug! He was adopted as a pup, and unfortunately didn't receive the proper housetraining required for a puppy, so he still is working on that. He is back with us due to his family not being able to provide the proper care and training, as they did not have the time. He spent all his alone time in a crate, so we hope to find a home where he doesn't have to be in one again, and he receives the attention he deserves. He has many good marks on his record that they learned while he was in their home - he is a lovely, social boy who gets along with everyone, and he has many good experiences playing with other dogs his size. He loves a good car ride, and he enjoys a little off-leash running time at the local dog park. He is great on leash for walks as well. His favorite activities include playing fetch, snuggling with his people, and playing with rope toys. Though his training isn't complete, he has been taught commands such as "sit," "lie down," and "paw." $350.00 adoption fee for this great boy. He is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Story
This pretty face is Freya! She is about 6-8 months old and appears to be a Chihuahua/Pug mix (lovingly called a "chug"). She's a great size at only 21 lbs. Sadly, she had to be rehomed due to a new baby in the home. She's a wonderful girl though, and has good experiences with other dogs and children as young as 9. Freya has some pretty great manners, and shes smart and food-driven! She mastered the "sit" command and her housebreaking has been a breeze when kept on a consistent schedule. Freya enjoys car rides in the passenger seat for your next errand or road trip. Freya is looking for a family to call her own for an adoption fee of $350. Apply on our website www.petsnpals.org if you'd like to meet her! Please visit our website www.petsnpals.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Story
Meet Cookie, the 18-lb bundle of energy youve been waiting for! This unique girl is estimated to be 23 years old and appears to be a delightful mix of Pug, Chihuahua, and/or Frenchie. With her stunning brindle coat, long "low-rider" body, and an adorable short face, a DNA test would be very interesting! Her previous caregiver reported zero accidents during her three-week stay, so she likely has a fantastic head start on house training. She had a dog friend while she stayed with them too, so she's be a good potential second dog to an already established home. Just bring them to the meet-and-greet and we can see how everyone gets along! She's been around kids as young as 9 and did great as well! Whether shes zooming around the yard or looking for a lap to crash on, Cookie is sure to be a great companion for a family or solo owner. She is scheduled to be spayed on April 14th and will be ready to head to her forever home on April 15th. We are currently accepting applications at www.petsnpals.org with an adoption fee of $350.
