This funny pup is named Theodore. He was born 1/2/2025 and originally came to our shelter with 2 littermates. He looks to be a pug that got mixed up with a large breed dog - very unique and nothing we've seen before! He looks like someone hit the "randomizer" option when building this boy. :) He has grown to a hefty 45 lbs, but still remains quite short and stocky. We know someone's out there who would love to have a giant pug! He was adopted as a pup, and unfortunately didn't receive the proper housetraining required for a puppy, so he still is working on that. He is back with us due to his family not being able to provide the proper care and training, as they did not have the time. He spent all his alone time in a crate, so we hope to find a home where he doesn't have to be in one again, and he receives the attention he deserves. He has many good marks on his record that they learned while he was in their home - he is a lovely, social boy who gets along with everyone, and he has many good experiences playing with other dogs his size. He loves a good car ride, and he enjoys a little off-leash running time at the local dog park. He is great on leash for walks as well. His favorite activities include playing fetch, snuggling with his people, and playing with rope toys. Though his training isn't complete, he has been taught commands such as "sit," "lie down," and "paw." $350.00 adoption fee for this great boy. He is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Meet Spencer, a sweet and playful Pug mix! Born in November 2025, Spencer is still very much a puppy at heart with plenty of playful, affectionate energy to share. Sadly, his previous owner had to make the difficult choice to rehome him due to rising apartment pet rent fees, so he's now searching for his true forever family. He's already fully housetrained! While he has the housebreaking basics down, he is still learning his manners. His new family should continue obedience training to help him mature into the best boy possible. Spencer is a total sweetheart who loves making new human friends. Because he gets so excited, he does tend to jump when greeting, so he'll do best in a home willing to gently work on his polite greetings. Hi I’m Feather! I’m a Pug Schnauzer mix. Mom is 100% Pug & dad is Schnauzer/mini Poodle. I am 7 months old & my days consist of playing & taking naps. Being 50% pug means I will shed. Even if you think maybe I won't because of my Schnauzer genes, it's better to assume that I will, because pugs shed a lot, so I won't be good in a home w/someone w/allergies. I am not crate-trained, although I do sleep in a playpen w/ other pups. I’ve never been alone before, so I will probably need to get used to it, or maybe someone will adopt me who has a pup friend already. You should also know I’ve already had two well-checks with a vet, I’m neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Tell me about yourself. Pug / Dachshund Mix Age: ≈ 4 years old Female, spayed 15 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Cheerio came to the Sacramento County Shelter underweight and with an embedded foxtail in her neck. It was removed surgically, but post-op they had trouble stopping the bleeding. She tested negative for any blood clotting disorder - perhaps the surgery nicked an artery? Eventually, the bleeding stopped, but it left her anemic. The shelter needed a rescue group that specializes in medical cases to continue addressing her veterinary needs. Over time in foster care, her anemia improved and she gained her weight back. She is a very friendly, sweet dog. She likes attention and affection from her foster parents and volunteers. She likes roughhousing with the younger, larger dogs in her foster home. She doesn’t like being confined or kept away from the activities of the home. Crate training would be pretty difficult - lots of barking. Apartment living may not be the best option for her. We have no experience with her as an only dog. We would recommend that she go to a home with other playful, friendly dogs. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. At 7 years old, Furious is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves kids, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and is happiest when he can curl up in your lap for maximum snuggles. He has no problem putting his entire body on you to get as close as possible! Furious came to us as an owner surrender when his family realized their long work hours made it difficult to provide the care and attention he deserved. They wanted him to have the opportunity to find a home where he could enjoy more companionship. When we received him, we discovered that Furious has significant vision loss, with some remaining peripheral vision, which our vet later confirmed. He navigates his surroundings well, settles into new environments quickly, and enjoys toys when someone joins in to help him play. He's crate trained and potty trained, too! He was also diagnosed with bilateral ear infections and ruptured eardrums, which have left him with limited hearing. Despite these challenges, he navigates his world remarkably well. He will need patience and time to adjust to a new home and routine, along with a family willing to accommodate his sensory limitations. Furious is headed to Pug Hotel, our senior pug and hospice sanctuary partner in Ukiah, CA, where he can stay as long as he needs while we search for his perfect match. He's an incredibly loving boy who deserves a home that will appreciate his gentle nature, give him time to settle in, and provide all the comfort, companionship, and lap time he could ever want. Furious is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has received a dental. He's ready for a new chapter with someone who will love him just as he is.
