Story
Sage is a 3-year-old fawn pug (born October 10, 2022) with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s playful, affectionate, and full of that classic pug charm. She loves her toys, enjoys being active, and absolutely adores people.I got her when she was eight weeks old outside of a taco truck in Bakersfield and while it was a random decision, she became my best friend. She is a total cuddle bug at night and will happily curl up right next to you. Like most pugs, she’s goofy, loyal, and will follow you everywhere — yes, even into the bathroom. She thrives on companionship and just wants to be near her person.Sage is great with kids and has lived with cats most of her life, getting along well with them. She’s loving, gentle, and easy to fall in love with. This decision is heartbreaking, but due to a move and ongoing health issues that require frequent hospital stays, I can no longer give her the care and consistency she deserves.

Story
Pug / Dachshund Mix Age: ≈ 4 years old Female, spayed 15 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Cheerio came to the Sacramento County Shelter underweight and with an embedded foxtail in her neck. It was removed surgically, but post-op they had trouble stopping the bleeding. She tested negative for any blood clotting disorder - perhaps the surgery nicked an artery? Eventually, the bleeding stopped, but it left her anemic. The shelter needed a rescue group that specializes in medical cases to continue addressing her veterinary needs. Over time in foster care, her anemia improved and she gained her weight back. She is a very friendly, sweet dog. She likes attention and affection from her foster parents and volunteers. She likes roughhousing with the younger, larger dogs in her foster home. She doesn’t like being confined or kept away from the activities of the home. Crate training would be pretty difficult - lots of barking. Apartment living may not be the best option for her. We have no experience with her as an only dog. We would recommend that she go to a home with other playful, friendly dogs. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. Story
Meet Bravo! This ridiculously adorable pug came to us from Oakland Animal Services after being found as a stray. We estimate hes about 4 years old, and hes just as sweet as he looks. His foster lovingly calls him Teddy, like the teddy bear that he is, and more than anything, he wants to be loved and cuddled by his people. He adores head scratches and neck rubs and will gently place a paw on you if you stop, just to ask for a little more. A classic velcro pug, he happily follows his person from room to room and has no concept of personal space. He does well with other dogs and kids, but his favorite place is right next to his person. The unfortunate news is that Bravo has a medical condition affecting his spine; he was born with a collapsed disc, which causes some weakness in his back legs and isnt something that can be surgically corrected. He also has some inflammation and early arthritis in his left knee. What does that mean for daily life? Bravo will need anti-inflammatory medication long term, and his activity should be limited to things like wandering around the yard, short walks, or relaxing rides in a stroller. In homes with stairs, hell need to be carried and use ramps to help protect his back. He may benefit from supportive therapies like acupuncture, injections to manage pain, and physical therapy, and his activity will need to stay on the lighter side. The good news is that Bravo is perfectly happy living a slower-paced life. His favorite thing is simply being close to his people and soaking up all the love and attention he can get. Hell thrive with a special adopter who sees how wonderful he is and is ready to give him the support and care he needs throughout his life. Bravo is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and currently being fostered in the North Bay.

Story
Have you heard the phrase, a face only a mother could love? Well, let us introduce you to the inspiration for it. Meet Guppy! This little guy may not have won the genetics lottery, but what he lacks in looks he makes up for in charm. He could be a pug mix, he could not be. Perhaps bulldog? Only a DNA test will reveal the truth. Do we really know his age? Could he be 2 or 7, who is to say? He was born without his right eye, has a uniquely shaped head, a major underbite, and an endearing wobbly walk. He came to us from the California Central Valley with a few other pugs after his owner went into a nursing home without a care plan. Guppy is looking for a home where he can chew on toys, lounge the day away, and follow his person like a shadow. Hes crate-trained, and while hes still working on potty training, a consistent routine will help him get back on track after being shuffled around these last few weeks. He's good with confident cats and dogs of all sizes, but we suspect he would be happy as an only-dog, too. If youre searching for a quirky, one-of-a-kind companion, Guppy just might be the pug for you! He's being fostered in Rohnert Park through The Pug Hotel.

Story
Meet Jeffrey (or as his foster parents call him, Jeffy)! Are you looking for a new best bud? A professional cuddle pal? Your go-to guy? Your short-walk-on-the-beach companion? Your tiny, snorting shadow? Well, have we got the gentleman for you. Jeffy is about five years old and came to us as an owner surrender along with two other pugs after their owner fell on hard times and could no longer care for them. When our friends at @pughotel took them in for us, all three were in pretty rough shape. But after plenty of baths, flea treatment, and lots of TLC, theyre already looking so much better. Jeffy is currently being fostered with a pit bull, another pug, and a cat and he truly could not care less about any of them. His real dream is to be carried around like a baby by you. You may want to start strengthening your back (or invest in a baby carrier) if you plan to keep this funny little guy happy. Once he settles in and learns the lay of the land, Jeffy will happily be your companion in everything you do. His favorite activities include gazing lovingly at you, following you from room to room, accepting treats for being a very good boy, and being held like a baby while you watch TV. Hes currently working on his potty and crate training and will need a patient adopter who understands that his whole world was recently turned upside down. Jeffy deserves a loving home thats willing to give him time, consistency, and kindness as he adjusts. Jeffy is being fostered in Sacramento and is neutered and got a dental cleaning on Monday, March 23. He is now vaccinated and microchipped, so he's all set for his next chapter.

Story
Meet Wiggles! If youre looking for a cuddly, playful pug mix puppy, Wiggles is ready to wiggle his way right into your heart. This adorable little guy came to us from a shelter after he was found as a stray and is estimated to be about 46 months old. Were not exactly sure what hes mixed with, but whatever it is its ridiculously cute. Wiggles is a sweet, snuggly pup who loves snacks, chin scratches, and being the center of attention. Hes good with other dogs and cat-friendly, too. He can be a little shy outside and with new people at first, but he warms up quickly once he feels comfortable. While he hasnt met kids yet, were confident hell adore them. He loves to shower people with puppy kisses and nibbles! Like many puppies, Wiggles has a bit of separation anxiety right now, but with patience, boundaries, and confidence-building, hell continue to blossom. Hes working on his potty training and is getting better every day! Hes currently being fostered in Dublin, CA and cant wait to find his forever family. He'll be neutered April 6.
