Feather or Gus. Take your pick! We are neutered, chipped & fully vaccinated. We are Pug Schnauzer mix. Mom is 100% Pug & dad is Schnauzer/mini Poodle. We are 5 months old & our days consist of playing & taking naps. We are doing awesome with potty-training. Being 50% pug means we will shed. Even if you think maybe we won't because of our Schnauzer genes, it's better to assume that we will, because pugs shed a lot, so we won't be good in a home w/someone w/allergies. We are very playful. We are not crate-trained, although we do sleep in a playpen w/each other. We’ve never been alone before, so we will probably need to get used to it, or maybe someone will adopt who has a pup friend already. Tell us about yourself. Pug / Dachshund Mix Age: ≈ 4 years old Female, spayed 15 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Cheerio came to the Sacramento County Shelter underweight and with an embedded foxtail in her neck. It was removed surgically, but post-op they had trouble stopping the bleeding. She tested negative for any blood clotting disorder - perhaps the surgery nicked an artery? Eventually, the bleeding stopped, but it left her anemic. The shelter needed a rescue group that specializes in medical cases to continue addressing her veterinary needs. Over time in foster care, her anemia improved and she gained her weight back. She is a very friendly, sweet dog. She likes attention and affection from her foster parents and volunteers. She likes roughhousing with the younger, larger dogs in her foster home. She doesn’t like being confined or kept away from the activities of the home. Crate training would be pretty difficult - lots of barking. Apartment living may not be the best option for her. We have no experience with her as an only dog. We would recommend that she go to a home with other playful, friendly dogs. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. Charlie is a loving dog. We found her abandoned at a park not long ago, and hoped we would be able to care for her as our own. Unfortunately, our family is not suited to give Charlie the life she deserves. She is energetic, loving, friendly, and curious! She gets along great with children, and though it may take more than an initial introduction, she gets along well with other animals as well. We have a large dog and a cat. She gets along with our large dog very well, and her curiosity sometimes gets her unwanted reactions from the cat, but nothing some time will not fix. She is not house trained which has been the largest hurdle for us, as my wife and I don’t have the time, and our son is not old enough to handle the responsibility on his own. Charlie needs someone with the time she deserves and the desire to give her dedicated love and care. Charlie would make a wonderful companion to anyone capable of giving her the time to learn and grow.

Charlie is a sweet, loving girl looking for her forever home! She loves kids, is very friendly, and has lots of energy, making her a great fit for an active family or younger couple. She gets along well with smaller female dogs but is not a fan of male dogs due to being overbred and abused before we found her. She is currently not spayed.Charlie is still working on house training, so she’d do best with a fenced yard or someone who has time for frequent walks and continued training.She is located in San Ramon. The first meeting will be a meet-and-greet only so everyone can get to know each other. We will not be rehoming her on the first visit. Our priority is finding Charlie a safe, loving, permanent home.
