Story
Meet Gus Breed: Pug / Chihuahua Mix Sex: Male DOB: 12/2/2025 Weight: 6 Pounds Health: Healthy and growing Gus is a joyful, wiggly little boy with expressive eyes and a personality bigger than his small body. He combines the affectionate silliness of a Pug with the alert intelligence of a Chihuahua. At three months old, he is in that magical puppy phase — full of curiosity, playfulness, and attachment. Personality Gus is playful, affectionate, and eager to connect. He loves toys, enjoys exploring, and lights up when he receives attention. After playtime, he happily melts into cuddles. He is forming his confidence now, and with steady guidance, he will grow into a loyal, devoted little companion who bonds closely with his family. Breed Info This mix often produces dogs who are loving, expressive, and people-focused. They can be alert and protective of their home, and they thrive in environments where they feel included and secure. Moderate exercise, daily engagement, and positive training are key to raising a well-balanced adult. Owner Responsibilities Gus needs consistent house training, structured socialization, and daily engagement. Puppies require supervision and patience. He will also need routine vet care and breed-aware monitoring as he grows. Raising a puppy is hands-on work — it is rewarding, but it requires time and dedication. &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 Things to Consider Are you ready for interrupted sleep during potty training? Is your landlord aware and approving? Are you financially prepared for vaccinations, neutering, food, and potential emergencies? Will Gus still have a home if you move or your schedule changes? Puppies are a long-term commitment, not a temporary stage. Vet Care Even though Gus is healthy, establishing care with your own veterinarian immediately ensures proper growth tracking, vaccination continuation, and long-term health planning. The 3-3-3 Rule The first 3 days he may be unsure or overly excited. The first 3 weeks he will start settling into your schedule. The first 3 months he will fully trust and attach to you. Consistency builds security. Why Gus? Gus will grow into someone’s loyal little shadow. With love, patience, and structure, he will offer joy, companionship, and devotion for years to come. Story
One of our compassionate Texas rescuers saved the life of this very sweet and irresistible Pug / French Bulldog mix with hopes of transporting him to Colorado for a new and wonderful life. Luigi's rescuer had the following to say about our loving guy, "This gorgeous gentleman doesn't belong in a terrifying, overcrowded shelter! He deserves a warm spot on the couch and loads of love all around. He's just that sweet and wonderful!" Luigi is just about 10 months old and a cute as can be petite 19 lbs. He was pronounced very healthy with an excellent temperament by his Texas vet. This little guy is at such a great age..old enough to be past his babyish behaviors and young enough to embrace his new life with an appreciation for all the the wonderful new possibilities. Our sweet Luigi weighs 19 pounds of cottony-coat fluffiness. His hair is currently a bit shelter-sad. He will require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths / brushing and excellent nutrition including 5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement for a shining, cottony-soft coat and a very healthy long life. Luigi is such a devoted and smart little guy. He now knows he's safe and is so much more relaxed and far less fearful and shy. Luigi is actually blossoming since he's been with his rescuer. Initially this poor little guy was so frightened due to all the changes in his life but with patience and love, he's truly emerging! Luigi has made progress each and every day and is on his way be being a well-adjusted guy who is open to new relationships and adventures. Luigi loves his walks and hikes where he can socialize with other dog-lovers (won't he be perfect for those gorgeous days exploring the paths around his home?) Luigi also enjoys his couch time that includes periodic hugs, praise and treats that make this little guy feel so good about himself. Luigi is such a fun and silly pup! We hope his new family will choose to spend lots of time enjoying his antics. Every day when Luigi's rescuer comes into view, she was greeted by a very joyous and loving Luigi giving happy kisses with a helicopter tail. He's a love bug that will be initially shy due to all the changes in his life, but with a bit of time and love, he emerges with his waggy tail and sweet smile. Farfel's Rescue has made the decision that we'd like to see Luigi in a home with loving and devoted retirees that spends lots of time at home. We hope they might enjoy taking their furry best friend along when going on a dog-friendly adventure. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a good choice for this people-loving guy. Beau is at his absolute best when he feels secure and loved by a dog-crazy family. He's experienced turmoil in his young life and we're seeking a home where he can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that his family will always have his best interests at heart. Luigi is unknown with cats. He's compatible, however, with dogs with similar energy levels to his own...but doesn't require these relationships to be happy. We wonder if Luigi might be at his best as an only dog with a family that will shower full-time love and pampering on him. He would return that love and kindness a million times over as he falls more and more in love with his family. Luigi has been fully vetted, vaccinated and neutered to support Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs that won't contribute to the overpopulation tragedy within the canine population. Luigi will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 3/18/2025 . If interested in this gorgeous and very cuddly, loyal and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE**. If you're truly interested in adopting Luigi, please be sure to submit the Farfel's Rescue adoption application that can be found at the link above or at farfels.com. Rescue site applications such as Petfinder or Adoptapet don't provide enough information for us to determine a great match for this very deserving dog and therefore aren't useful. We're sorry, but in many circumstances, we're unable to get back to those those that don't submit a Farfel's adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue!

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Freddie, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** ***Please note that Freddie's potty training status is currently UNKNOWN. Petfinder does not have an option for unknown... only yes or no. He is still transitioning from the shelter into a foster home, and we will update when we know more.*** Meet Freddie! Freddie is an adorable, 2 year old, 24lb Pug / French Bulldog mix (we don’t DNA test our rescue dogs, this breed guess is simply based on our vets’ best assessment of his appearance). Freddie was found as a stray in New Mexico alongside another dog who looked very similar to him. No one ever came looking for them. He has a few scars on his legs and head, quiet reminders that his life before rescue may not have always been kind. While we don’t know his full story, we do know that whatever he’s been through hasn’t dimmed his sweet spirit one bit. Freddie is affectionate and friendly. Despite his rough start, he is trusting and gentle, and he seems genuinely grateful for kindness. He does well with other dogs and would enjoy a home with another canine companion, especially one who appreciates playful energy balanced with cuddle time. Freddie has a sturdy little build at 24 pounds — small enough to be portable, but solid enough for adventures. He would make a wonderful walking buddy and is equally content curling up on the couch at the end of the day. Farfel's Rescue and our New Mexico rescue partners would love to see Freddie in a home with an individual, family (older kids are preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet dog. We'd hate to see him left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home, as he is much too social for that type of arrangement. We'd like to place Freddie in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Freddie is up to date on his vaccinations, has been fully vetted, is healthy, heartworm negative, and is neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Jack is a 3-4 year old Pug weighing about 16lbs.  Jack came from Mexico where he was brought to a shelter in pretty bad condition.  His eye was damaged and needed to be removed immediately.  We don't know what happened to his eye, but he has since fully recovered and is happy, healthy little guy!   Jack gets along well with other dogs and all people.  He is very snuggly and loves to follow his foster Momma around the house.  He is learning how to play with toys and is just as cute and sweet at can be. If you are interested in adopting Jack, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2668187##
