She enjoys being around people, soaking up attention, and spending time close to her humans. She has the classic loving Pug personality that makes the breed so adored — affectionate, companion-oriented, and full of charm. Felicia has beautifully matured into a wonderful companion who enjoys both relaxing and being included in everyday life. Whether she is lounging beside you, following you around the house, or joining you for short walks and outings, she simply loves being near her people. As a Pug, Felicia may show traits such as: A loving, people-oriented personality Strong emotional bonds with family Playful but companion-focused energy Social and affectionate behavior Pugs are known for thriving when they are included as part of the family and given lots of love and companionship. Felicia would thrive in a home that can provide: Daily companionship and affection Moderate exercise and walks Routine and consistency A loving indoor environment Because Pugs are a brachycephalic (short-nosed) breed, they can be more sensitive to heat and overexertion, especially in warmer climates. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Even dogs who appear well-behaved in foster care or at the rescue are still adjusting and learning. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption. Felicia will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Structure and consistency Patience during adjustment periods Continued socialization and engagement Routine and companionship Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, stability, and commitment, rescue dogs often blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility. Felicia will need: Daily companionship and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine wellness exams and preventative veterinary care A safe, stable, indoor living environment Because of her breed, special attention should also be given to: Monitoring breathing and overheating Maintaining a healthy weight Skin fold and dental care Consistent veterinary care, proper nutrition, preventative care, and emotional stability are all essential to helping her live a healthy and happy life. Felicia is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
