Story
Howdy! I’m Rosebud, a sweet and loving pug mama looking for my forever family. I’m wonderful with gentle kids, other dogs, and puppies, and I’ve been busy raising my two precious little babies with lots of love and care. Now that my pups are almost ready for their own homes, I’m ready to find mine too! My foster family says I’m kind, polite, and incredibly affectionate. I even seem to be potty trained because I haven’t had a single accident in my foster home. More than anything, I’m hoping for a family who will adore me, keep me safe, and love me forever. If you have a soft spot for pugs and a heart for sweet mama dogs, I would love to meet you!

Story
Meet Lukas Male DOB: November 20, 2021 Weight: 22 lbs Breed: Pug Neutered (Fixed) Vaccinated Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Lukas is a happy, loving little guy with a sweet personality and a heart full of affection. He enjoys being around people and has the kind of warm, cheerful energy that makes him easy to fall in love with. He has matured into a wonderful companion who enjoys both playtime and relaxing with his humans. Lukas thrives on companionship and would love a home where he can be included in everyday life, whether that means going for walks, lounging nearby, or soaking up attention and affection. As a Pug, Lukas may show traits such as: A loving, people-oriented personality Playful but companion-focused energy Strong emotional attachment to his family A social and affectionate nature Pugs are known for being loyal companion dogs who thrive when they are close to their people and included as part of the family. Lukas would do best in a home that can provide: Companionship and interaction Moderate daily exercise Routine and consistency Indoor comfort and stability Because Pugs are a brachycephalic (short-nosed) breed, they can be more sensitive to heat and overexertion, especially in warmer climates. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Even dogs who appear well-behaved in foster care or at the rescue are still adjusting and learning. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption. Lukas will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Structure and consistency Patience during adjustment periods Continued socialization and engagement Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, stability, and love, rescue dogs often blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility. Lukas will need: Daily interaction and companionship Continued guidance and structure Routine wellness exams and preventative veterinary care A safe, stable, indoor living environment Because of his breed, special attention should also be given to: Monitoring breathing and overheating Maintaining a healthy weight Skin fold and dental care Consistent veterinary care, proper nutrition, preventative care, and emotional stability are all essential to helping him live a healthy and happy life. Lukas is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. What could be better than a Puggle? A Rez Puggle! the perfect blend of smallSomething mixed with medium something, and this guy looks kind of Puggle-ish. At only about 20 pounds, he is on the smaller side and super friendly! He can be in an active household or moderately active household, but not an inactive household as he still has bigger dog energy 💜

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Kyle please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Kyle! Kyle is an adorable, 5 year old Pug with a huge personality packed into one squishy, little, 24 pound, bowling ball like body. Kyle came to us after being surrendered to a shelter we work closely with in New Mexico. His previous family made the decision to give him up after their older dog began going after him in the home, and poor Kyle was becoming increasingly scared and stressed. Thankfully, that sad chapter is behind him now, because Kyle has made his way to Colorado and is ready for a fresh start filled with love, comfort, and absolutely zero drama! Despite what he went through, Kyle remains an incredibly social, happy little guy. He absolutely loves people and other dogs. He’s currently thriving in a foster home with 8 other dogs (yes… EIGHT!) including both big and small dogs, and he gets along wonderfully with all of them. He’s proven himself to be easygoing, friendly, and very dog social. Kyle is also potty trained, which is always a huge plus! Kyle’s personality is impossible not to fall in love with. The second this boy gets excited, his tiny little feet start doing the cutest tippy tappy dance like he physically cannot contain his happiness. Pair that with his giant smile and goofy little tongue hanging out half the time, and he will absolutely melt your heart within seconds of meeting him. One thing his previous home did note to the shelter is that he does not do well with children. While we have not personally tested him with kids ourselves, we do want to respect the information they provided. The reality is that many dogs simply feel uncomfortable around young children due to the noise, unpredictability, fast movements, and high energy that often comes with kids. Because of that, we think Kyle would be happiest in an adult only home. Kyle is ready to leave the stress behind and start the next chapter of his life with a family who will adore him for the funny, affectionate, joyful little guy he is. We cannot wait for this sweet boy to finally get the happy ending he deserves! We'd like to place Kyle in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Kyle is up to date on his vetting, vaccines, and neutered. He did test LOW positive for heartworm, which is extremely common in dogs coming from states like Texas and New Mexico where mosquitoes are active much of the year. Heartworm is NOT contagious to other dogs, dogs can only get heartworm through the bite of an infected mosquito. Kyle is only lightly positive, which is truly the best case scenario when it comes to heartworm diagnosis, and he has already started treatment. Heartworm is fully treatable, and we will cover the full cost of his treatment until he is heartworm-free! Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
