Story
Meet Tonka: The Texas Tough Pug with a Heart of Gold! Straight from the streets of Texas comes Tonka, an adorable 7 year old Pug who’s ready to roll into your life (and probably your heart). This little tank on stubby legs is the definition of “happy to meet anyone or anything.” People? Instant friends. Dogs? Party time. A random leaf blowing by? Challenge accepted. Tonka is dog-friendly, people-friendly, and apparently already a pro at the basics—he appears potty trained and crate trained, so the hardest part of bringing him home might just be deciding who gets to throw the first toy. And oh, does this guy love to play! Expect zoomies, toy battles, and plenty of that classic Pug snort-laugh whenever the fun starts. He’s been fixed, is up to date on shots, and even got a fresh dental clean-up, so his smile is as ready as the rest of him. Tonka is being fostered in Windsor, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/tonka/. Story
Jack is a 3-4 year old Pug weighing about 16lbs.  Jack came from Mexico where he was brought to a shelter in pretty bad condition.  His eye was damaged and needed to be removed immediately.  We don't know what happened to his eye, but he has since fully recovered and is happy, healthy little guy!   Jack gets along well with all people and is an amazing little guy.  He is very snuggly and loves to follow his foster Momma around the house.  He gets along with other dogs but since he is a sassy little Pug a proper introduction is usually necessary.  He does well at the dog park and LOVES chasing his tennis balls and playing fetch. He is great on walks and a cute little snorty, happy Pug. If you are interested in adopting Jack, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2668187##

Story
Hi, I’m Paisley. I’m a sweet 2-year-old Pug who was saved from euthanasia in New Mexico, and I’m getting ready for my second chance at a happy life. I’m good with other dogs and kids, and I’m likely good with cats, too. I’m also housetrained and ready to settle into a loving home where I can finally feel safe, cared for, and part of a family. I’ll be arriving in about 3 weeks, and I’m hoping my forever family is out there waiting for me. I’ve been given a second chance, and all I need now is someone willing to make me part of their family. Could you be my happily-ever-after?

Story
Tessa is a cute as can be Pug / Chihuahua mix. Tessa is between 2 and 3 years old and weighs 14 lbs. This poor girl has had a rough start and is finally learning what it's like to be loved and cared for, and her personality is shining!!! Tessa was found on the streets of New Mexico, and clearly was starving and way too skinny. She then ended up in a high-kill shelter, where we rescued her from. Now she has made her way to Colorado and is in a loving foster home, figuring out that life can be good! Tessa finds comfort in other dogs, so we are requiring that she go to a home with another friendly dog. She absolutely loves to play and toys are one of her favorite things! From Tessa's foster: * * * * Tessa is about as close to perfect as a pup can be!!! This beautiful little girl will quickly fit into a loving environment. She was a bit shy the first few days, but has totally blossomed! She has become very sociable and would be best having a dog buddy who is happy and playful. Tessa has perfect social skills and is submissive with other dogs. Her goal in life is to be loved, to sleep in a soft, comfortable bed, preferably with her human(s), and to play. Tess gets along great with people and animals. She loves to run huge zoomies in the park with a buddy or newly found friend. She is never aggressive, even if another dog bullies her. She is just so happy and easy going! Tessa needs a home with another dog. She doesn't like being left fully alone, but as long as she is home with my dogs she is totally content while I am at work. She is gaining confidence more and more every day through much love, support, security, and encouragement. I don't believe she's been someones special baby but she sure wants to be! Tess is now potty trained! She hasn't taken to pad training as an option when Im away so will need to get outside when needed. So would do best with someone who works from home or is retired. She is soft, sweet, incredibly loving and huggable. Tessa melts into your arms and will even let you cradle her like a baby. She looks into your eyes and just asks for your love. Tess has clearly had pups, which has given her the gentle mom temperament. She's now learning that she gets to just be Tessa without having to take care of babies. She may never have had the chance to be baby. Tessa plays like a puppy and absolutely loves to be silly. She didn't have that sense of silliness when she arrived but is now in happiness mode, playing with toys, and asking my dogs to play with her. She loves to eat. Her teeth are small and she needs food/treats for small breed dogs. Tessa is an angel girl and will be your best friend for life. She deserves a wonderful, loving home. * * * * Since Tessa is just a young girl, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. Tessa will form firm bonds with her family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force-free Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a dog's ultimate behavior and in her relationship and bonding with her people. It does take time and commitment yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue feel very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement / force-free training classes that are virtual or in-person. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Tessa out to a home that doesn't choose to offer her this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement / force-free virtual or in-person trainers in your area. We're open to Tessa finding her forever home with dog-crazy retirees with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart young dog. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a great choice for a dog that would love nothing more than getting loved up periodically throughout the day. Tessa enjoys her relationships with all humans and dogs. We would prefer, however, to place her in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment will create an adult dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can also be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development. Tessa will be up to date on her vetting / vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She will also be spayed to stay true to our hopes for a euthanasia - free future in the canine population. If interested in this sweet as can be best friend, applications are currently being accepted. An adoption application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Tessa, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Loki, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Loki! This adorable, young, 12 pound Pug / Chihuahua mix was found as a stray in Houston, TX, and now he's ready to leave his past behind and find the loving family he has always deserved. While the Texas shelter vets estimated Loki was around 3 years old, we and his foster believe he is closer to 1 year old based on his bubbly, very puppy-like personality! Loki is a sweet boy, and doing great in foster care! Here is what his foster says about him: "Loki is the perfect little man!!! We seriously love him SO much! He is so good with our kids (9 & 11) and he is so good with both of our dogs. He keeps up with the big dogs and LOVES to play and cuddle with them. He is such a happy puppy. I definitely think he is younger than 2 or 3, because he is very puppy-like but in the best way! He has a lot of playful energy. He can be mouthy, but never in a mean way, just in a playful puppy-like way. He's pretty much potty trained and knows to do his business outside. He's also seen a cat and didn't react at all! He loves our kids and plays with them and lets them handle him. He is so friendly and easy going with us all!" We'd like to place Loki in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Loki is up to date on his vaccinations, has been fully vetted, is healthy, heartworm negative, and is neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out 400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com.
