Story
Sweet Olivia’s retirement didn’t go according to plan. At 10 years old, she lost the only home she’d ever known when her human passed away. Can you imagine her grief? This sweet girl soon joined MHCR after her loss and it’s been our pleasure to help her get on the path to senior living. Olivia is dog and cat friendly and she adores children. She is timid of strangers, but warms up quickly. She is especially fond of men, as her human was a man. She’s house trained, sleeps like a lady on her dog bed, is trustworthy free roam….shes a gentle and kind dog. Olivia takes short, nightly walks with her foster family and thinks that’s pretty fun. She had extensive dental work done upon entry into MHCR and now she doesn’t have any teeth left (so future adopters needn’t worry about a large dental bill). If you have a loving, senior living, home to offer this girl, you won’t regret taking a chance on her. Olivia is being fostered in Brighton, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/olivia/. Story
Hi. My name is Poppy, and I am a Pug/Chihuahua mix.  I am 14 months old, weigh about nine pounds and everyone says I am cute as a button and full of personality. I love to play, take walks, ride in the car, and snuggle. I have a lot of foster mutt siblings at my foster home. I like most of them, but one is really big. Foster mama says he weighs thirty pounds! She tells me he is very friendly, but I am not so sure of that, so I have to show him who’s boss. Foster mama says I can be protective of my favorite human around the other resident mutts. She says it's understandable because I didn't have the easiest past and so I want to make sure I keep tabs on the nice humans.  My best fit forever family or human would be a patient and loving adult or adults, maybe with another dog my size.  I like treats, lots of cuddles, and sleeping curled up with my human. I also like to go wherever my human is going. Sometimes I dash out the door in excitement, but I come back when mama calls. My new family will have to understand that I am just a little thing. The world can be scary, and I need to show how brave and fierce I am. (Mama says that is the Chihuahua in me.) If you're interested in adopting Poppy, please fill out an adoption application here: https://underdogsrescue.org/adopt-form/ Underdogs is a small volunteer-based animal rescue and we unfortunately do not have the resources to respond to phone and email inquires about our adoptable animals at this time. If you're interested in learning more or setting up a meeting with one of our animals, please complete an adoption application first. It may take up to two weeks for application review and one of our coordinators will reach out to you as soon as we are through the intitial review process. We appreciate your patience and understanding! Thank you! ##1943487##

Story
Reed, affectionately called ‘Little Riblet’ by his foster mom, is an 8yr old neutered male pug mix.  He is just 16lbs and has a soft black coat with chocolate brown accents.  He is a quirky, happy go lucky dog who loves people and other dogs.  Reed is house and crate trained, and not a barker.  Like all pugs he will make snorting noises to show you his appreciation for a nice cuddle or a good meal.  Reed has been diagnosed with glaucoma in his left eye which is easily treated with one eye drop, once a day that costs less than $10/month.  He is fully vaccinated and ready for a loving forever home. Due to his small size we recommend a home without kids, or older kids that understand how to be gentle around small dogs. Put in an application at eapl.com His adoption fee is $375   June 26, 2025, 9:07 am

Story
Meet Hayes & Holden – The Dynamic Duo of Curiosity and Charm Hayes and Holden are a bonded pair of adventurous, affectionate puppies ready to bring double the joy to their forever home. Though each has a distinct personality, they thrive together and balance one another beautifully. Hayes is the confident leader of the pair—outgoing, energetic, and always eager to explore. He’s quick to engage with other dogs and enjoys discovering new sights and smells. Holden, his quieter sidekick, prefers to follow Hayes’s lead, gaining confidence from his brother’s curiosity and comfort. While a bit shy at first, Holden is affectionate and playful once he feels secure. These two have done well with both large and small dogs in their foster home and love spending time with their canine companions. They are still young and learning, so ongoing training and gentle structure will help them continue to blossom. Hayes and Holden are full of playful energy, cuddly moments, and heart-melting sweetness. They’ll do best in a home that can offer patience, companionship, and room to explore—ideally with another dog or each other by their side. Ready for an adventure and a lifelong bond? Hayes and Holden are waiting to meet you! ##2297841##

Story
Kendall is pure sweetness and spunk. She loves all people and dogs, and in her ideal world everyone would be her best friend, especially kids! She is social and loves to play, and wants to greet everyone she meets. She needs some training on the leash simply because she is so eager to meet and play with everyone, but shows zero signs of aggression and loves to go for walks. She loves to sniff and explore, and would do great with a yard, though she has also done well as an apartment dog. She’s just the right size to snuggle and hold (which she loves), but still hearty and strong enough to go for hikes and long walks. She is very treat responsive and easy to train, and already knows sit, shake, lay down and stay. She loves her toys, especially the ones that squeak, and she’ll entertain herself all day (but she’d love it if you get into a game of tug o war with her). She is loyal to her people and she will show you all the love. She especially loves to nuzzle her head in your neck and give you ear kisses. She is fully potty trained, other than some small accidents in the mornings when she’s excited to go outside, but that has been subsiding more as she gets older. She is also crate trained and sleeps in it through the night, and that’s where she stays when home alone. She loves adventures and sleeps through car rides cozy in her car bed. She is a happy, confident, loving puppy and will bring so much joy to her forever home ##2358649##

Story
Meet Hayes & Holden – The Dynamic Duo of Puppy Charm Hayes and Holden are an adorable pair of young pups with hearts full of curiosity and playful energy. While Hayes is the confident explorer, Holden tends to hang back and follow his brother’s lead—but together, they’re the perfect match. Hayes brings the spark, and Holden brings the soul. Both puppies are friendly and social with other dogs, having done well with both big and small canine companions in their foster home. They’re still young and learning, so some basic training will help them continue to grow into confident, well-mannered dogs. With people, they’re affectionate and eager for connection, though Holden may need a little more time to fully come out of his shell. Hayes has a high energy level and loves a good adventure. Holden is a bit more mellow but just as sweet. Whether playing together, exploring their surroundings, or snuggling up for a rest, these two are a joy to be around. Hayes, Holden, and their sibling Harley are all looking for loving homes and are ready to bring fun, love, and adventure into your life. Come meet them this Saturday—you just might fall in love twice. ##2297842##
