Story
Jack is a 3-4 year old Pug weighing about 16lbs.  Jack came from Mexico where he was brought to a shelter in pretty bad condition.  His eye was damaged and needed to be removed immediately.  We don't know what happened to his eye, but he has since fully recovered and is happy, healthy little guy!   Jack gets along well with other dogs and all people.  He is very snuggly and loves to follow his foster Momma around the house.  He is learning how to play with toys and is just as cute and sweet at can be. If you are interested in adopting Jack, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2668187##

Story
Is he cute? Yes! Is he funny? Yes! Does he have big personality in a little body! Yes yes! Will he let you pet him? NOPE! This profile is a brutally honest progress report for our brave guy!   I cannot say confidently that humans weren't nice to him or he was just so under socialized he has no reference. What I can say is he does not trust a human hand BUT he wants to engage which is BIG! In a matter of weeks he is taking treats from my hand and from strangers, is excited to see me, will put his paws on me and lick my hands, will work for food, and shows his funny personality. He absolutely loves my dog Rip and will cuddle up next to him. The other dogs in the home have been instrumental for Oliver to watch and learn and he respects the alpha of the house. He has been great with our foster kittens and likes to follow them around and is learning not to chase them.   He is not fully potty trained but is trying his best. I have to go out with him and watch that he is "go potty" and reward him with a "yes, good boy" and treats. He will gladly get out of your way if you walk towards him but will follow so close behind you he'll give you a flat tire. He does sleep through the night with us in bed because laying down is a very non threatening position and I am hoping it builds trust with him. I have not been able to get a collar or harness on him yet but we are working on that. He is making huge strides in his kennel training when I go to work or leave the house. When I need him to go in there I do have to somewhat corral him with a yoga mat but he is going in there much much easier as we keep practicing.   He loves his toys and shouldn't be left alone with stuff toys because he eats them.  ##2605241##

Yes please!  Meet Max, the pint-sized powerhouse who proves that the best things in life come in wrinkled packages. This charming pug is a master of the comedic arts, ready to fill your home with snorts, sighs, and a level of devotion that only a flat-faced friend can provide. If you are looking for a companion who is part athlete, part couch potato, and 100% personality, Max is your man.Max is a professional people-watcher who believes his main job is to be wherever you are. Whether he is performing his signature curly-tailed wiggle to greet you at the door or tilting his head in deep thought while you tell him about your day, he is always fully engaged. He has a sturdy build and a brave heart, making him the perfect partner for neighborhood strolls, followed immediately by a world-class nap. While he may come in a compact, wrinkled Pug package, Blue clearly didn't get the memo on his size. He carries himself with the athletic spirit and social grace of a retriever, making him the perfect bridge between lap dog luxury and big-dog adventure. Blue is a master of the Lab lifestyle. He possesses a bottomless appetite for snacks, an unwavering devotion to his human pack, and a tail that wiggles with the intensity of a rudder. Unlike your typical sedentary Pug, Blue loves to be in the middle of the action, whether that means supervising a game of fetch or joining the big dogs for a romp in the yard. He has a sturdy, resilient nature and a heart that is far too large for his ribcage. If you are looking for a companion who offers the hilarious charm of a Pug with the loyal, easy-going temperament of a Lab, Blue is ready to join your lineup.Want to adopt this dog? Story
** If you are interested in adopting Freddie, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Freddie! Freddie is an adorable, 2 year old, 24lb Pug / French Bulldog mix (we don’t DNA test our rescue dogs, this breed guess is simply based on our vets’ best assessment of his appearance). Freddie was found as a stray in New Mexico, and no one ever came looking for him. He has a (healed) scar on his neck that suggests he was likely chained up by his neck for some time. However he managed to escaped that life, we are so happy that he did! Even though his life before rescue may not have always been kind, it has not dimmed his spirit one bit! Freddie has a very happy, goofy, social, puppy-like personality and he is so happy and friendly! Freddie does well with other dogs and would enjoy a home with another canine companion, especially one who appreciates playful energy! Freddie currently lives with another playful dog and loves having a buddy. From Freddie's foster: "This silly guy is so funny and so friendly!!! He settled in so fast and easily; like he totally happy the second he stepped in the door. He has puppy-like energy. He is adorable! He is very playful." Farfel's Rescue and our New Mexico rescue partners would love to see Freddie in a home with an individual, family (older kids are preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet dog. We'd hate to see him left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home, as he is much too social for that type of arrangement. We'd like to place Freddie in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Freddie is up to date on his vaccinations, has been fully vetted, is healthy, heartworm negative, and is neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
