Story
This sweet girl is Lily Marie. As you can tell, she’s an older lady(she’s 14), but don’t think that means she’s not active and happy. Lily loves to go on walks and can easily walk over a mile. She enjoys playing with the young dogs in her foster home. Lily’s foster Dad works from home and Lily has appointed herself the Office Dog. She eats well, sleeps well and is all around a lovely companion. I expect she will do well in any type of home. A bustling family or retired person, she will bring whomever adopts her joy. She’s spayed, up to date with vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped.  An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. We verify rental policies and adhere to any regulations. Please ensure you understand those restrictions before choosing a dog.          April 25, 2024, 10:56 pm

Story
Meet Daisy, the charming 3-year-and-6-month-old brown and grey pug mix, tipping the scales at a delightful 22 pounds; she is on a weight loss plan here and should lose about 5 pounds to be an ideal weight. Her ideal home would have a fenced-in yard since she does like to run. She will wiggle out of a leash so she must have a properly fitted harness. With a curious spirit and a playful demeanor, she approaches life with endless wonder and enthusiasm. Daisy's affectionate nature makes her a beloved member of any family, always ready to offer cuddles and companionship. Despite her short stature, she exudes confidence and charisma, capturing hearts with her endearing personality. One of her most adorable features is her curly tail, a unique trait that adds to her irresistible charm. Whether exploring new surroundings or lounging in a sunny spot, Daisy's presence brightens every moment. With her boundless energy and unwavering affection, she's the perfect embodiment of joy and love in a petite package. If you're interested in Daisy please call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480 or fill out an application online. Our adoption hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11-5 and Friday and Saturday 1-5. Daisy says come out and meet her!

Story
Meet Auggie Auggie is seeking a local, adult only home with a fenced yard and a similarly sized playmate! Auggie is an adorable 5 yr old, 15 lb Pug/Chihuahua mix who was picked up a stray and never reclaimed. He was highly stressed in the shelter and we didn’t hesitate to pull him when his time was up. Auggie is a sweet silly boy, a definite lap dog and does expect full furniture privileges. He loves toys! He enjoys going for walks and rides in the car. Auggie loves to play with other similar sized energetic dogs but is intimidated by bigger dogs. He is looking for a home with another small dog and will not be placed in a home with big dogs! . Older dogs may not appreciate his enthusiasm. He does okay with a dog savvy cat but for cats not used to dogs he would not be a good fit. Auggie is a resource guarder and because of this he will not be placed in a home with children. He has super sensitive hearing and will protect you from the UPS truck so apartment living is not in his future! Auggie is crate trained and housetrained. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, HW tested negative and on prevention. He does need to lose a couple pounds. Auggie has been in foster care for quite some time now and we really dont know why - we know the perfect home is out there somewhere! LOCAL INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE

Story
A FRIENDLY & ADORABLE GUY:  Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 20 lbs.  Hi, my name is Tex!  I had a home, as I was adopted from Mostly Mutts a few years ago.  Unfortunately, my family fell on hard times, so I am back with Mostly Mutts looking for a new family to love!  Though I’m not the best at smiling for the camera and my pictures may make me look a little grumpy, I am NOT a grumpy boy, but rather friendly and adorable! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I like the older dog in my foster home, and the 2 younger and smaller dogs I met recently too!  I do growl at the mostly blind dog when he bumps into me or approaches me in my dog bed, so my foster corrects that behavior and I try to listen, but I don’t love being bumped by him.  I do nap with him at times though.   I met a puppy too that invaded my personal space and I barked at her to let her know this, though I was tolerant.  So, if you have another dog, let’s meet!  / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet, but I am working on my ‘happy to see you’ jumping, so my foster recommends no very young kids that I may bump over and let’s meet!   • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  When asked, the volunteers at the shelter describe me with one main word – sweet, sweet, sweet!  I was always excited to see them, since I am very much a people dog.  I seek out attention whenever I can and have been very friendly.  When guests leave my foster home, I may tug at their pants as if to stay, ‘no wait, don’t go’! My foster has started picking me up to watch guests leave as it keeps me calm.  I am a ‘wonderful gentleman’ just looking for a family to love and be loved by!  In my foster home, they say that I’m a sweet, friendly, gentle, and a mannerly gentleman too! / My energy level is 3-5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’ command and have shown great leash manners.  I bet you can teach me even more!  I take treats gently too. I consider it my job to be an alert barker like when a delivery person pulls up or a squirrel runs by, and sometimes I bark with the other dogs.  I think I may bark a bit too much at all the noises that are in an apartment building, so probably best no apartment/condo type home.  / I don’t need a crate in my foster home. / I had a few accidents on the shelter schedule but am doing well in my foster home as long as I’m taken out often enough.  My foster has pee pads for her own dog that I’ve learned to potty on, if I need to go and can’t get outside, so you may want to consider having those for me too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I thrive on attention and love being with people!  Scratches and head kisses make me happy, and I enjoy sitting next to my foster family, but not really in their laps.   I’m not a big fan of toys, but I sure would be a fan of being your loving companion! / Though I ride very well in the car, my foster doesn’t think that I love to do that.  I can’t think of any real dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I had a dental cleaning, so my mouth is clean again. Since I’m an older fellow, I take an over-the-counter Cosequin supplement that’s good for all older dogs.  I am looking for a loving home with a wonderful family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  April 25, 2024, 7:01 am

Story
Hattie Lucky is as sweet as she is adorable! This small English Bulldog mix is the perfect size at 35 pounds. She is happiest when she can be with her person and will follow you from room to room, in case you want to stop and give her some pets and kisses. Hattie Lucky is young, so she still likes to chew on things, but is learning that dog toys are the best chew toys. She's house trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. She would do great as an only pet, but she also loves to play and enjoys playful dogs. If your dog would rather just be left alone to snooze on the couch, she's not a good match because she will drive him or her crazy trying to play.    It's important to note that she does not like to share food with other dogs and should be fed separately and not given access to the kitchen during meal prep and family dinner if she has a doggie sibling. If she's the only dog, she has no problem being around humans while they are preparing and eating their food. As is common for English Bulldogs, she will likely have higher vet bills than the average dog so do your research and then apply to adopt this little snuggle bug if she sounds like the one for you. PS - She snores but even that is adorable.
