Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Meet Thumper, a Frenchie–pug mix with the cutest mismatched ears—one floppy like a pug and one standing tall like a Frenchie—and a heart that is absolutely devoted to his people. Thumper came from a backyard breeder situation in Texas and is just beginning to learn what it means to have a home of his own. Because of that, he forms strong bonds with his humans and can be a bit protective of his people, food, and toys. With patience, structure, and understanding, he will continue to grow and feel more secure. What he already knows how to do perfectly? Love his humans. Thumper is incredibly affectionate and lives for snuggles. His favorite place in the world is on your lap, belly up, soaking in all the scratches and attention he can get. He truly wants to be your little shadow and best friend. Thumper does best as the only dog in the home. He has shown resource guarding behaviors with other dogs and is not a good match for homes with small dogs. He doesn’t require a canine companion and will be happiest soaking up all the love and attention from his people. He is doing really well with potty training and enjoys going outside—especially when he gets praised for being a good boy. He knows commands like “come” and “go potty,” and he’s food motivated, which will make continued training a great bonding experience. He’s also making progress with leash training and does best using a specific harness setup. Crate time is still a work in progress. Thumper may bark at first and takes a little time to settle, but with consistency and patience, he is learning that his crate is a safe space. Thumper has a playful side too—he loves zoomies and will happily show off his silly energy before curling right back up with his favorite humans. He would do best in a home that can provide structure, patience, and lots of love as he continues to adjust to life as a cherished companion. In return, Thumper will give you his whole heart—loyal, snuggly, and completely devoted. Thumper isn’t just looking for a home—he’s looking for his person. And once he finds you, he’ll be yours forever. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  Bulldogs, pugs, and Boston terriers, Brussels Griffons, Pekingese and others are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure this breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average brachycephalic breed owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs. In addition to other surgeries, this dog may have had surgery on their nares and soft palate to improve the quality of their breathing.  This will be partially reflected within her adoption fee. These breeds are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for these breeds usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires a separate application and an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. This dog requires a Bulldog Application.  All applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application. To learn more, visit  https://underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/bulldogs/ to fill out the Bulldog application. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Bernard is a wonderfully sweet and expressive Shar-Pei x Pug who has finally learned how to be a dog, and he’s loving every minute of it. This big softie is incredibly affectionate — if you let him, he’ll gently kiss your face like it’s his life mission. He loves greeting his person with pure joy, sometimes so excited he forgets about going outside and instead insists on getting all his welcome-home pets first. Thanks to Embark, we did a DNA test to confirm her is 89% Shar Pei and 11% pug! He’s a happy, goofy boy who can match your energy perfectly. If you’re excited, he’s excited; if you’re calm, he’ll flop down and relax beside you — ideally in his chair, which he has very proudly claimed. He gets along great with cats and lets them do their thing, and he’s also made excellent progress with the other dogs in the home. He’ll even share gentle licks with them. Bernard listens well when treats are involved and knows how to sit, but recall is not his strong suit — especially around small critters. Given the chance, he will bolt, and the squirrels of the world definitely get a bark or two. He walks decently on leash but needs secure handling and careful door-watching. He’s still learning how to tell his person when he needs to go outside, so monitoring his water intake is important. While he has never pooped inside, he may pee if he drinks too much too quickly without a trip out. He also has a love for paper — any paper — and will happily snack on whatever he can reach, including toilet paper. Outdoors he enjoys eating grass and plants, so supervision is a must. Bernard enjoys soft toys and doesn’t destroy them. He loves chews too, but once they get narrow he’ll snap them and swallow the pieces, so those need supervision. You can absolutely be silly and playful with him — he thrives on that goofy connection. He may bark sometimes when left home alone, and while he’ll occasionally sleep with the rest of the household, he still gets a bit nervous around one of the other Shar-Pei. Even so, they’ve made great progress together. Bernard is a genuinely great dog — affectionate, silly, eager to bond, and full of personality. If his foster could keep another animal, he’d never be leaving. He’s more than ready to love someone wholeheartedly and make coming home the best part of your day. Story
Welcome Missy to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Missy Gorda is a 2 -year- old Chug (Pug/Chihuahua). She weighs about 13 pounds and appears to be a good weight. She has the Pug body and is thick in the middle. She is very playful with toys. She is in a foster home with a large dog and Minnie and she does good with both. She isn’t a big shedder. She isn’t too vocal which is nice. She can use the doggy door and goes outside to do her business. She came from a hoarding situation and probably hasn’t been held much. She is a little nervous being held and has a bit of a stiff body. She loves her crate and will go to it when she is scared. The crate makes her feel safe. She is a wonderful little dog. She is really doing great in her foster home. We think the best home for Missy is a home with a partially or fully retired person or someone who has a quieter home. She would be great with someone that is more to themselves and doesn’t have a houseful of people everyday. She is a nice dog and when she is afraid she will retreat to her crate. She is getting lots of attention in her foster home and is doing great. She wouldn’t require a huge yard but a fenced one would be best for this girl. She can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas in foster care. She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed soon. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Welcome Mutz to CCPAL Rescue. Mutz is a 3-year-old Daug (Dachshund /Pug). He weighs about 12 pounds and is full grown and a nice weight. This dog came from the hoarder or overabundance of dog situation. He has an adorable underbit and has really blossomed at the Rescue. He is a quieter dog and has learned to like to be held. He is definitely a lap companion. He is playful with other dogs and has the sturdy body of the Pug. He would love to be a companion for a person that is retired, partially retired or maybe someone with a household that wants a dog with a lower energy to join in. He would be ok with a smaller condo size yard. He is learning leash manners and getting used to commotion of the Rescue. He hasn’t experienced a lot of different things so he isn’t sure yet but he is really really nice. He is not a big shedding dog. He is fine with nail trims and baths and will make some lucky family a great companion. I would say anyone moderately active would be fine for this dog. He bonds deeply and he warms up with affection nicely. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting vaccinations, neutered and he will be ready for his forever home soon. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. While his brother Tumbleweed is out running zoomies, Concho is busy perfecting the art of the full-body snuggle and the award-winning “melt into your lap” technique. This short-haired Chihuahua x Pug mix has the ultimate low-maintenance coat (less brushing, more blushing from all the compliments). He’s the most social and affectionate pup in the litter — a true people-pleaser who greets everyone with a full wiggle and zero personal space. Concho doesn’t just like cuddles… he’s utterly pug-sessed with them. He’s happiest being your personal shadow, your lap potato, or your emotional support snuggle bug. Playtime? He’s down for a quick wrestling match with his brother. But his real talent is turning any couch into a cuddle fortress. Life with Concho will include: • Endless tail wags and happy wiggles • Following you from room to room like a very cute stalker • World-class snuggle sessions • Occasional dramatic puppy sighs of contentment • Plenty of kisses and zero judgment At 17 lbs and still growing, he’s the perfect small-to-medium size — big enough for adventures, small enough to smuggle into almost anywhere. He’ll be your ideal partner for neighborhood strolls, errand co-piloting, and especially professional couch potato-ing. If your life could use more warmth, more giggles, and a little tan lovebug who’s Concho-lutely obsessed with you… this sweet boy is ready to come home and make every day pug-tastic! 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Concho wriggle his way into your heart! 🐶💛

Our app can be found at haydudeequine.org ADOPTERS MUST BE OVER 21 TO APPLY 🐾☀️ Meet Tumbleweed — The Little Adventure Buddy with Big Puppy Energy ☀️🐾 Male • 6 Months Old • 17 lbs • Chihuahua x Pug • Professional Toy Tester & Zoomie Specialist Tumbleweed is a 6-month-old, 17 lb bundle of puppy happiness wrapped in a handsome darker tan coat and powered entirely by curiosity, wiggles, and snack motivation. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance grooming routine but high-maintenance cuddle expectations… congratulations, you’ve found your boy. This short-haired cutie is a Chihuahua x Pug mix, but his official breed classification is still “Certified Good-Time Puppy.” His coat is the perfect wash-and-go model — meaning less time brushing and more time doing the important things in life like belly rubs, snacks, and telling him how handsome he is. Tumbleweed is a happy, social little guy who loves other dogs and is especially fond of wrestling matches with his lighter-tan brother, Conroe. Their matches are intense, dramatic, and occasionally involve mid-playtime flops that look like someone hit the “puppy pause button.” Toys? Yes. Exploring outside? Absolutely. Meeting people? His tail is already wagging. He’s a curious little explorer who loves being outside checking out the world, sniffing everything like it’s part of an important investigation, and generally living life like every day is the best day ever. At his age, he should do just fine with cats when given proper introductions. He loves other dogs and people of all sizes, but keep in mind — he is still a young pup, which means he comes factory-equipped with those famous needle-sharp puppy teeth and enthusiastic little claws. Temporary features, but highly effective during playtime. Life with Tumbleweed will include: • Surprise zoomies through the living room • Dramatic puppy flops mid-play • Toy explosions across the house • Endless kisses • Occasional chaos • A whole lot of laughter Fully grown, he’ll likely stay in that perfect small-to-medium range — basically the goldilocks size of dogs: big enough for adventures, small enough to fit comfortably on the couch (or directly in your lap, according to him). He’ll be the perfect partner for: • Hiking trails • Camping trips • Neighborhood strolls • Co-piloting errand runs • And of course… professional couch snuggling once the day’s adventures are done. If your home could use more laughter, more puppy shenanigans, and a very happy little sidekick who thinks you hung the moon… 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Tumbleweed bring the zoomies, the giggles, and the puppy love home. 🐶💛

Gene is a sweet dog and well behaved. He is mostly calm and rarely  barks but does reverse sneeze from time to time.  He has only been put in his kennel once while we've had him, and  he went in no problem, although he did whine and fuss when we left. He likes to chew on things but can be directed to just chew on his chew toys.  He is well behaved on walks. If we pass by a person, he ignores them. If  we pass by another dog, he is curious but does not get excited or aggressive. He has not been around kids or cats.  He does not seem to know any commands, but is learning "sit" and "come". He is also doing well on his potty training.   He loves to be scratched. He cannot wait to find his forever family!  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $585.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 17, 2026, 9:37 am

***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Opal is a gentle, affectionate English Bulldog with a heart full of love and a personality that melts everyone she meets. At home, she’s the ultimate cuddle companion—always ready for pets and snuggles, especially if it involves relaxing on the couch under a cozy blanket. When she’s comfortable, Opal is happy to settle in and relax, but she also enjoys following her people around the house like a loyal little shadow. One of her favorite moves is flopping onto the floor and rolling over the moment someone walks by, politely requesting belly rubs. Opal’s sweet and goofy nature shines through in everything she does. She has a charming little wobbly walk that makes her presence known wherever she goes, and it only adds to her lovable character. Outside the home, Opal is curious about the world around her and enjoys taking her time to sniff and explore new sights and smells. Meeting new people is one of Opal’s favorite activities. She greets strangers with a friendly demeanor and will often sit nicely in front of them, patiently waiting for the pets and attention she hopes will follow. Her calm, even-tempered personality makes her a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a gentle, affectionate dog. Opal is potty trained and reliably goes outside. She is crate trained and does well resting in her crate when needed. She is currently working on her leash skills and is making good progress—she should do just fine going out on leash for potty breaks and short walks. Opal already knows basic commands like “sit” and “wait,” showing she’s eager to learn and please. Opal is a senior girl with some arthritis, so she takes life at a slower pace and has a bit of a wobbly walk. She may need a helping hand with stairs, so her future family should be comfortable lifting her when needed. With her loving personality, goofy charm, and devotion to cuddles, Opal is a wonderful lap dog who is happiest simply being close to her people. She’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a sweet, gentle bulldog who will happily trade endless love for belly rubs. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  VRS 11.25 ME  Sweet Agatha, a 9-year-old English Bulldog with a heart as soft as her squishy face. This sweet, mellow girl is looking for a forever home where she can do what she does best—binge watch TV, nap in the sun, and relax with her favorite people. Agatha is the definition of low-maintenance. While she enjoys a nice, easy walk, she’s just as happy (honestly, happier) spending her day snoozing, cuddling, and soaking up the calm energy of her home. She thrives in a relaxed, slow-paced environment and would be the perfect companion for someone who enjoys quiet days and cozy nights. She is fully potty trained and only goes outside, crate trained, and has wonderful house manners. Agatha is easy to care for—she does great with baths and nail trims, has healthy teeth, and has had no health concerns. She loves her daily routine—especially when it includes a few apple slices and her evening chew. Agatha loves people—both kids and adults—and tends to win over everyone she meets. She does well with other dogs in social settings like walks or the park, but in the home she prefers to be your one and only. She can get a little jealous when it comes to sharing her people, so she’s looking for a home with no other pets. Her favorite things include long naps, sunbathing, chewing on her favorite treats, and snacking on carrots and apples. She also has the cutest little heart-shaped marking in her fur—just one more reason everyone falls in love with her so quickly. Agatha does have a fear of thunderstorms, so she’ll appreciate a home that can offer her comfort during stormy weather. If you’re looking for a calm, loving, and easygoing companion who will happily be your shadow and your snuggle buddy, Agatha is your girl. Just be prepared—once people meet her, they’ll be asking for pictures. A lot of them. To learn more, visit https://underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/bulldogs/ to fill out the bulldog application.
